Acre Homestead 2 days ago (edited) Most of you have already pieced this together, but we thought it might be good to officially introduce you to our firstborn son, Baby Acre!! There were a few complications before, during, and after childbirth, but Baby Acre is a very healthy, and incredibly happy baby! Becky is still recovering from some of the complications but plans to fill you in with more details of his birth and her recovery when she is feeling closer to 100%. She has been posting some quick updates to her Instagram stories because they take far less effort to pull together than full KZbin videos. :) Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, and supportive/helpful comments! - Becky, Josh, and Baby Acre

I’m so glad that you liked my tip about double sheeting the baby’s mattress; the first time that you deal with messy sheets in the middle of the night you’ll be thrilled, lol! My second tip is that I got a special ornament for each of our children each year. From baby’s first Christmas until each child moved out they had an ornament that I labeled with the year and date. When they moved into their house they had meaningful ornaments to start their own trees. By the time the youngest child left we decided to downsize our tree and I bought some ornaments that I like. Have a wonderful Christmas!

I absolutely love Naan. A quick tip when you cook them. Make them a little thinner and only turn them over once bubble rise up. I always make a big batch of it and freeze whatever we’re not eating (fully cooked). When we want to have some with dinner, I just take them out of the freezer and pop them in the toaster. They’re delicious that way and super convenient.

“I’m a little tired”. Really? Who knew, Becky! I always marvel at your constant level of energy to achieve a bijillion projects during the course of one vlog. You are also so conscientious regarding thanking people, in this case Josh, who help you out and who contribute to your well being. You always thank your viewers for “tuning in” as well. We are always happy to see your newest one. And … come on! Here you are stockpiling videos whilst preparing for Christmas as well as for the birth of your son. Holy moly! A piece of advice for your artificial tree. I looooove mine. In fact, I loooove decorating for Christmas and I totally go over the top. More is more! I start mid November and leave everything up until almost mid January. I want to enjoy it all for as long as possible. Here is the tree tip … so to speak. I bought a tree cover that you slip onto the base (where the tree stand begins to support the tree). You leave that on forever basically. When you store it, you pull the cover over the branches and zip it up the side. And … you store the tree in your basement standing up with the zipped up cover over it. Next year, you pull the cover down, nestle the cover around the base and put your tree skirt over it. All you have to do at that point is floof (the professional term for fluffing up the branches) and decorate. You can get the cover on Amazon. It is the bee’s knees in efficiency, Christmas-wise. And, yes! Buy a festive tee skirt on sale. Merry, merry .Christmas, Becky and Josh and wee baby boy Acre. Thank you so much for sharing your enthusiasm and joy of life with us all. Blessings from Ontario, Canada. 🎄🎄🎄

I am Oriental and I I think you done a really fantastic job on you meal. Yes! You need to role out your Naan thinner than you are doing now. It is going to fluff up. You know your dough is too thick when it is NOT fluffying up in your pan. When it is rolled thin it's going to fill with air and moisture from your choice of oil and puff up. Then you will get light and fluffy Naan. Secondly, you dusted the flour off each Naan on top of your pan. Fluff it off at your rolling station. Don't use your hands to flatten the Naan use a rolling pin. When our pans are not yet hot enough our first Naan is a bit flat. First test oy one Naan bread to see if your pan is hot enough and your dough rising up in the pan. Some air bubbles should rise on your bread. This way you won't lose more than one Naan bread. Ideally you want you fry one at a time because on piece should take up most of the pan 😊still your curry looks better than mine!! 👌👌

Same! I can't watch a lot of channels specifically because of that. It's...not great to see. Sad, really.
@ccan2087 Жыл бұрын
What is sad is that the partner is being judged for what you are presuming something for the only fact is that we don't see the partner on the video. We don't know the personal story of these people, nor do I watch too get involved in people's story. I watch too get something from the person taking the time to provide good information and inviting the viewer to see a SMALL part of their homelife or more if they so choose. Most or many homes today still needs someone to have a job outside their home for an income and most importantly health benefits. Also, not everyone wants to be on video and honestly I never understood why until today, after reading these comments why some family members are never on videos, because who wants to be put out there just for some people to do exactly what these comments are doing. You would think we all have so much more important things to worry about in our Own lives. However, research does show that we tend to project what may be going on in our lives onto others. Just a thought.

The nice thing about the fake tree is that even if you get a real tree next year... you have an extra tree for another room. Like you could put one in your bonus room or over in the corner by the window the pooches sit on in the kitchen. Lot's of people have more than one tree... so it's not an either/or situation and you are now ahead of the game ☺ Not gonna lie, when you stumbled on the loose tile I yelled out "Becky, get down off that ledge!" 🤣 Congrats on baby A. Hi Becky, I am using my husband's KZbin acc and just wanted to share a simpler Naan Bread Recipe with you...All you will need is 4-5 cups of self raising flour, 500gr tub of greek yoghurt and a pinch of salt. Start off with using 4 cups of self raising flour in a bowl and add pinch of salt into bowl and add the 500gr tub of greek yogurt to it and mix and if still to wet just add some more self raising flour till you get a dough that is not sticky anymore. You can immediately make it into small little balls and roll it out into a round roti shape using a rolling pin and you can fry it in pan without any oil and it won't stick to the pan. What I do is I mix some garlic paste and some mixed herbs in some olive oil and use an egg brush and brush it in the one side before I put it into the pan and when I turn it over then I brush the other side and you have lovely garlic naan. I normally get about 15 naan breads out of one batch. You can also use the same recipe and divide it into balls and make rolls from it as well. I simply love your videos and congratulations to you and Josh on the birth of your son Acre. May you as a family always be protected Amen.

The house looks lovely, Becky. That fermented leftover juice is great to marinate meats in or use as the liquid in bread products for some extra spice. Plz remember however that this is a salt brine she used. So might not get expected results if you use the bread recipes amount of salt. Might do better to do a preferment without salt added, then add the fermented brine as part of the recipes salt. Too much salt can give you a brick. I like to use the brine of Kalamata olives to my olive bread. Adding the brine AND the recipe amt was not tasty.
@mimiashford55442 жыл бұрын
@@tanyabriggs8969 I've fermented ghost peppers & reapers for hot sauce for years, (with a salted brine) and have used the left over liquid for both marinating meats AND in bread products in the correct amounts IN PLACE of any salt/liquid the recipe called for. Becky lives somewhere in the Vancouver (WA) area & I can't remember when they started to follow Portland's example of dealing with snow. These days I don't drive in snow & ice as I don't tolerate the cold at all & can't risk another fall with the possibility of injurying myself (again). As I said before most of what happens here is the last 30/40 years, but not prior to then. Have a great holiday season.

I love your tree this year I didn’t put one up, with work and rushing to harvest what I could out of garden b4 the up coming freeze my hands are full with canning. I love curry and Nan thanks for sharing your day

We bought our first fake Christmas tree over 20 years ago and still use it every year. The lights went out a few years ago and so we took them off and have to string lights but it still looks great. We have had a couple other trees over the years to fit houses we lived in at the time better and I just bought a flocked tree last year for a second room in our house. We have so many other traditions around the holidays not having to stress about the trees is nice.

Great video. This video made me realize that what was missing in the house, was a wreath and some fresh greenery. I actually ended up pausing the video, to go get some. We bought 2 wreath and they gave us a bunch of branches for free, that I can use to make a few centerpieces. I also want to take the time to wish you all a very merry Christmas. Enjoy your holiday with your new baby boy, many blessings to you all.

Becky, my daughter is 30. I was lucky enough to stumble into a tradition of buying 6 beautiful Christmas ornaments every year. By the time my daughter left home she was able to take a healthy bunch of ornaments to get started. She will add to her collection every year as well. Something to consider.

Sitting here watching your video while sipping on some hot cinnamon spiced tea. We live in Boise, Idaho so our weather is about the same. We do have snow on the ground and it’s been really cold. But it is so relaxing to sit in front of the fire and sip some hot tea. I think the snow kind of muffles outside noises so it’s peaceful. I hope your relaxing and loving on your son and Josh. God Bless🙏💗

That chime might really be a Dutch tradition: I grew up in The Netherlands and remember having a chime like that when I was a child. Couldn't keep my eyes off it. And hands, I have to confess. Don't remember how many years it survived... Happy Christmas from Sweden!

Love, love watching your prerecorded shows. So grateful you were able to do this before baby Acre. Loved seeing the blanket of snow. Here in Texas we very very seldom see snow. Love the tree and seeing the memories that will unfold. Till next time hugs and enjoy your precious baby boy. I know you and Josh are ecstatic being new parents hugs Betty 🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

What a special Christmas for you and Josh. A new home, new plans and ideas for making the space inside and out yours AND your precious new son. The tree you chose is beautiful and like you I’m a white lights fan 100%. I hope you’re taking good care of yourself. Merry Christmas. 🎄

Beautiful tree and I can see you or Josh with Acre cuddling up there. What a wonderful view to wake up to, snow covered ground and trees. Our Christmas in Australia is hot so our preparations for the day is usually lots of sea food, salads and cold chickens. My grandparents were English so we also had a traditional Christmas pudding with custard, brandy sauce for the adults.

Congrats to you both with the birth of your son and greetings from the Netherlands. I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and really enjoy your videos. I myself never had seen an angel chime before it looks very pretty. I had to Google it and I think it is more a Swedish tradition a very cool invention!

I'm in the camp of leave the live trees in the forest. Your tree looks lovely. Every year but fresh green roping. Brings the smell into the house. Over the mantle and roping down a stairway. You can mist the roping. It will keep it fresh and green longer. Otherwise it will dry out and fade to brown.

Pretty Tree! We manage to get ours back in the box by hugging each section to compress and we tie it with rope to hold it tight. Works well for us. Ours is also white with an option for color blinking and it rotates so we can decorate all the way around!! Enjoy your first year in the house!
