I wonder how the orchestra felt while performing this. I mean, they're probably used to very formal crowds that just clap after every performance, but here the crowd literally cheered after their overture and sang at the top of their lungs, must've been surreal.
@adeline.is.sleepy7 ай бұрын
I've played in the orchestra for much smaller versions of events like this - a band accompanied by a symphony orchestra. the biggest and most serious one I did was just last week, for about 2500 people in the audience. I'm in university, so the thought of playing for that many people was nuts - I've never done anything like it. the energy was insane, it really was magic. loved it. and it was a comparatively tame group (Indigo Girls) compared to BMTH. but still just amazing. if I could only gig for events like that, I would.

@treymontgomery59592 жыл бұрын
I've been advocating how Oli is a fantastic lyricist and you've put your finger on it. He's able to bring to life imagery and feelings that are tangent and real without naming them. In another song he simply says the square doesn't fit the circle and it immediately invokes that little box with the star shaped holes and the star shaped pieces. A fantastic singer, I wonder how much is him and how much is the rest of the band, keyboardist often seem to have a great understanding of notes and sounds and meanings. I wonder...

@OhYeahTurnOnTheRadio8 жыл бұрын
di actually this was recorded from the audio console and not from the crowd. I'm pretty sure a lot of people were fangirling and screaming their lungs out, it's just that the live audio crew probably managed to filter it out for a better sound quality. Trust me, I'm studying audio engineering. 😊
@neshazzz8 жыл бұрын
di But realize that the audio probably isn't from the performance. They might have mic'd some of the crowd and added that at parts, but aside from that, it's mainly not from it. If it was purely live, you would be able to see Oli struggling with certain notes and it being not nearly as perfect. But any way, this video made me tear up. They all went from being a small tiny deathcore band to now having sold out concerts and having their fans singing the words that they wrote, back to them. It's amazing how far they have come.

In fact, classical music is the mom of all our "new" "style" of music so there's no surprise honestly....classical music is in everything you hear today.

Well I mean, although this particular song is more like Alternative Metal or even sort of Nu-metal, traditional metal such as Heavy metal and some of the more technical subgenres have huge ties, in terms of composition and musicality, to classical music, hence the existence of sub genres like Symphonic metal and Neoclassical metal
@Blood-Talon7 жыл бұрын
Scøut why can't we just have metal. Why so many sub genres
@legoshi59257 жыл бұрын
Jonny Simpson Because much of it is all very very different? Like without genres how would people describe their specific favourite style of rock, or any music? "Oh yeah I like it when bands play using specifically downtuned 7 string guitars in a polyrhythmic progressive manner with hints of neoclassical jazz grooves and some heavily processed synthesisers layered over vocals recorded in a studio located in Zimbabwe" sounds way too complicated when you could just say "I like bands in the [insert genre name] style"

Literally there is no way someone can hate this. It is absolutely beautiful. The rich orchestra, the invigorating band, the echoing sound of the choir, the lead singer's emotional voice. The only thing you could ask for is a better recording...being there live had to be an experience akin to heaven on earth. There is no way any human could possibly hate this, as there is something for everyone in this.
@yupthatsmyusername35965 жыл бұрын
Yeah I showed this to my friend and she said she didn't like it. I mean...what the fuck?! It's a fucking masterpiece, every single second of this song is perfect, how could someone not like this? But well...I'll just let her listen to that mainstream radio pop music. This is so fucking epic though.
@estelle_elith5 жыл бұрын
@@yupthatsmyusername3596 The thing is, there is no much difference between this song and the "mainstream radio pop music", which is the exact reason why so many people who listened to BMTH's previous songs hate them nowadays.Your friend, though, might just hate the song for the sake of hating it, which is normal behaviour for minors (and which I assume both of you are). Most of the time, people/children feel like they need to like/dislike specific music to prove loyality or specialty or i dunno what. Nevertheless, I agree with the fact that the orchestra works very well with BMTH's newer songs and - in my opinion - you must be some kind of misanthropist to hate the musical and emotional harmony, not only in the song but also in the crowd. This isn't about "I only listen to ...." or "I hate it, cause I need to be special", this is about good sense and rationality.

The whole chorus, he sings it. Oli only sings “some come rain on my parade // come shove me over the edge // I’m sorry but it’s too late // So come rain on my parade” And even those parts that Oli sings, Jordan sings over him too so it would sound better. Especially in the song Avalanche. He’s the one who sings in the chorus’ “normal” high notes. Jordan deserves the spotlight

Putting sustained strings on top of the guitars/making a staccato intro (My demons in nutshell) doesn't make you any authority in orchestration. To be frank, it isn't even the role of the band to make these - a mastering engineer or his crew does this. So no, given Oliver actually composed this (I don't know if he did), he'd be way better musician than the ones in Starset and he is not the one who should get tips.

Liric.: Cut off my wings and come lock me up Just pull the plug, yeah, I've had enough Tear me to pieces, sell me for parts You're all vampires, so here You can have my heart (heart, heart) You can have my heart (heart, heart-heart) You can have my heart (heart, heart) You can have my heart (heart, heart-heart) You can have my... The world's a funeral, a room of ghosts No hint of movement, no sign of pulse Only an echo, just skin and bone They kicked the chair, but we We helped tie the rope (heart, heart) You can have my heart (heart, heart-heart) You can have my heart (heart, heart) You can have my heart (heart, heart-heart) You can have my... So come rain on my parade 'cause I wanna feel it Come shove me over the edge 'cause my head is in overdrive I'm sorry, but it's too late, and it's not worth saving So come rain on my parade I think we're doomed I think we're doomed And now there's no way back You must've made some kind of mistake I asked for death, but instead, I'm awake The Devil told me, "No room for cheats" I thought I'd sold my soul, but he kept the receipt So leave a light on, I'm coming home It's getting darker, but I'll carry on The sun don't shine, but it never did And when it rains, it fucking pours, but I think I like it And you know that I'm in love with the mess, I think I like it So come rain on my parade 'cause I wanna feel it Come shove me over the edge 'cause my head is in overdrive I'm sorry, but it's too late, and it's not worth saving So come rain on my parade I think we're doomed I think we're doomed And now there's no way back I think we're doomed I think we're doomed And now there's no way back So come rain on my parade 'cause I wanna feel it Come shove me over the edge 'cause my head is in overdrive I'm sorry, but it's too late, and it's not worth saving So come rain on my parade I think we're doomed I think we're doomed And now there's no way back

I went to this gig on my own because nobody wanted to go with me and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere mixed with the orchestra and the amazing live performance from the boys was something else. I laughed, I cried, I lost my voice but damn I’d do it again! In the wise words of Jake Peralta: chills, literal chills!

Its almost too hard to listen to. This music induces feelings of empathy in me so strongly and feelings of relation that its almost too hard to bear. The depth of his voice and every intricate word/ the power of the orchestra and various instruments, voices. This is bach on steroids.

Also being a empath is a super hard painful way to live. Because of how we feel others emotions as if they were our own. But also for that reason it makes life so much richer. For those that don't know or have empathy, I feel sorry for. They're missing out on feeling a true connection to every other living thing in the world.🖤🤘

You've put into words exactly how this song never fails to make me feel especially when I've heard it live. Feels like everyone in the room is part of one big collective.

my absolute fav moment of this video is around 5:44 when Jordan Fish the percussionist/keyboards provides backing vocal, his eyes tearing up coz he realises freaking Royal Albert Hall is singing along with him.
