(this is kinda off-topic and I'm not refuting your post but) I think it's ridiculous when people say that various metalcore singers have "lost their ability to scream" if they've moved on to a different genre because that's simply impossible. Screaming is in the same vocal register as our regular speaking voice so he'd have to lose his voice altogether to not be able to scream anymore 🤷♀️ though, it is possible to lose a certain part of the range due to a vocal injury (i.e not being able to sing upper 5th octave anymore like other famous singers) or to simply be out of practice

I’m a new fan of BMTH but when I was watching Billie Eilish videos this came up in recommended. After watching it I looked up their music and have been a fan ever since. I love every album they’ve done and their creative range. I’m so thankful for this video because it introduced me to a band that has changed my life and made me feel at home through their music 😊. They are now my #1!!!!🖤

I'm a few years into BMTH. And they're my fave band. Love how versatile they are. I don't like the early stuff. "This is what the edge of your seat is for" that's just to far for me. But everything else. They blow me away. Then just found this today. Just wow. He can sing anything right ❤️❤️ now singing screemo with ed Sheeran. Fantastic band ❤️❤️

LETS TAKE A MINUTE TO APPRECIATE THIS COVER WOAH 1. JORDAN? Yes, gurl, those backings are on bloody fire right there. 2. And LEE? SCUSE ME? That voice, thank you. 3. “Oli Sykes can’t sing” ok fair point, but stfu. He couldn’t for a while, we all know that, but that’s because he spent years screaming for YOU. YOU THE PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT... although it was quite bad for a while and he is improving all the time 4... was Oli reading the lyrics of his phone cos that’s amazing 😂😂 5. Dude, he can't sing. Why do fans have to love every cover a band does? This is objectively bad. He can't hold a note and only sounds decent when he's essentially speaking the lyrics.
@NinjaReptard5 жыл бұрын
Jak Dee uhm he can sing but there’s a problem of his vocal chords and that is the reason why he changed the genre. They’re deathcore before. 🤷🏻♀️

@a-non62385 жыл бұрын
Johanne Høst eh maybe not as much anymore but at least they're not like one of those bands that "finds their sound" which happens to be the same generic ass shit as a lot of other groups in the metal world. Say what you will about them softening up and changing markets, but I wouldn't say that amo sounds like the basic pop shit on the radio. And I'm sure they'll switch it up again on the next album. As long as they keep growing and evolving I'll respect them. That does not necessarily mean I'll love every track but I'll appreciate that they're exploring different sounds instead of staying stagnant. And there are still definitely other metal bands out there that can masterfully handle heavy & soft even on the same album like Nocturnal Bloodlust's Omnigod with Desperate/Genesis vs Libra -another scene-/Linaria.
@Ghost0fLuna5285 жыл бұрын
Johanne Høst BMTH used to be metal. They’ve softened since 2003, but they used to be deathcore (a type of metal)
