(this is kinda off-topic and I'm not refuting your post but) I think it's ridiculous when people say that various metalcore singers have "lost their ability to scream" if they've moved on to a different genre because that's simply impossible. Screaming is in the same vocal register as our regular speaking voice so he'd have to lose his voice altogether to not be able to scream anymore 🤷‍♀️ though, it is possible to lose a certain part of the range due to a vocal injury (i.e not being able to sing upper 5th octave anymore like other famous singers) or to simply be out of practice

Johanne Høst eh maybe not as much anymore but at least they're not like one of those bands that "finds their sound" which happens to be the same generic ass shit as a lot of other groups in the metal world. Say what you will about them softening up and changing markets, but I wouldn't say that amo sounds like the basic pop shit on the radio. And I'm sure they'll switch it up again on the next album. As long as they keep growing and evolving I'll respect them. That does not necessarily mean I'll love every track but I'll appreciate that they're exploring different sounds instead of staying stagnant. And there are still definitely other metal bands out there that can masterfully handle heavy & soft even on the same album like Nocturnal Bloodlust's Omnigod with Desperate/Genesis vs Libra -another scene-/Linaria.
