The autotune was by design. Su does NOT need autotune to hit notes. It makes her sound more robotic which fits the theme of this song.

DUDE, I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THIS SONG. PLEASE SEND HELP. What a masterpiece man. Even tho this isn't a Babymetal song, you can definitely hear elements of their songs. It's not just them throwing Su's vocals here and there. I just wonder, is there gonna be a day where a listen to a Babymetal song, and really not like it? Oli (Lead singer) is a big fan of Chester Bennington and he said that Hybdid Theory influenced this record a lot... The track "Itch for the cure" is an omage to "Cure for the itch" from hybrid theory. You can mash the vocals from one step closer with 1x1 and it fits perfectly... Love this attention to detail ^^

Pretty early in the video you said it sounded like some Linkin Park screams. The whole EP has a Linkin Park vibe. The interlude into this song is called "Itch for the Cure", and I'm sure if you look at the track listing on Hybrid Theory you'll see a very similar song title for that album's interlude. The LP influence is not an accident!

Did you hear the part after the chorus (I think it's around 2.40 Min in the song)? It's such a sick mix with the deep growl and the double bass under Su's voice. You were moshing so hard your headsets fell off :D Absolutely agree with Alan on the auto-tune/effects, especially on Su's voice. Really not necessary, but it's not like it ruins anything. It's just the stylistic choice and how BMTH do things nowadays. It's a great song, but I still think it would sound even better without it. I'm hoping for another collab between the two, but more Babymetal style and not as much electronics/effects mixed in. Which is not to say this wasn't a lot of Babymetal. One of their producers/writers wrote the chorus, lyrics and music, if I understood the interview, in which someone from BMTH talks about it, right. They know each other for 5 or 6 years now and always hung out at festivals and stuff. Olli Sykes said they always tried to make it a bit easier for the girls to feel more welcome in the mostly male backstage areas.

1st time hearing: yeah it works, with slightly weird sensation. 2nd time: it's pretty catchy and heavy, this is great 3rd time and infinity loops: KINGSLAYAAAAA!!! now, many complaints that it better off with BM and let Oli sing the whole song. But here some thought, how the chorus will be when you remove Su-Metal's voice? It's impossible. The chorus is the uplifting part of the song, and if Oli were to sing the "kingslayer" part, it'll never be as good as this. Keep the good work guys, did this video considered as BMTH or BM reaction video also? Will we get another BM reaction video this week? Just asking btw.

Your the first ones I’ve heard who said they got Stabbing Westward vibes from this song! I’ve thought that since I first heard this song and when you said it I yelled, “YES! It’s not just me!” Lol. Great video!

I'm baffled how intellectual bmth is when it comes to their marketing in the last 2 years. Just seeing how their Sempiternal album back in 2013 was basically listened by only the heavy metal rock fans, now almost the entire world is becoming attracted to the band.

Mick Gordon worked with them on this, so it's not too strange that you hear that Doom Eternal sound

Great reaction to such a sick song!! I agree that Su's vocals are way too over-processed, but I think they were purposely going for that, stylistically, in this song. The background is that Oli from BMTH (the lead singer) said that he was playing Call of Duty and the fact that you try to get "Kingslayer" status in the game and it's such an achievement to actually hit that it made him think of the song. There's also some political motivations he talks about regarding Trump and such, but it is basically about playing a video game, so the sound of her vocals fits. He also said that as he wrote it, he realized that he was going to be doing screams and growls, and just couldn't hit the notes for the chorus. I think at the time he was writing it BMTH was opening for BABYMETAL last year, so he thought it would be a great opportunity to invite them to collaborate since they have become friends over the past few years while playing different festivals and such. Needless to say, it worked out really friggin' well!

If you love the clean vocal and heavy instrument all together, check out this japanese band Mildrage. they're two vocalist male and female, and the song that I recommend is Silent Spear. The female vocalist is amazing and she do the clean vocal and the male is the screamer, but she's can screams too. I really recommend this band, you'd love it for sure :)

Funny you mention the Doom Soundtrack because Mick Gordon actually helped produce a lot of the songs on this EP!

Good trivia for this song: Mick Gordon, the composer of the new Doom games was involved in the production and sound design of this album/ep.
