One of the things I respect most with any artist is the willingness to always push themselves into new sonic territory and never settle for repeating themselves. BMTH have always impressed me with being ahead of the curve amongst their peers and still willing to take a risk by attempting an even newer approach. I definitely would recommend checking out one of their older songs just so you can see how drastically different they used to be. Also please check out Between The Buried And Me as well as The Contortionist and Plini

I think it's a really great track... actually I like all of the recent BMTH songs but I wouldn't go as far as call them pioneers. They have quite a distinctive sound now but when it comes to mixing electronic dance elements with hardcore there other bands that came way before like enter shikari, fail emotions and I would even go back to the refused with their landmark album "the shape of punk to come".

I'll continue my shouting out for you to check out Mastodon, their tracks Halloween, Jaguar God or The Last Baron for starters. Oh man, you like guitar riffs and groove, Mastodon have them both in loads :) Halloween is a great jumping off point, the last two albums have cleaner vocals and are, dare I say it, easier listening :) than the earlier stuff. Jaguar God is the kind of music that I didn;t think got made anymore and The Last Baron has a real beauty of a riff.
