if anyone was wondering what this song is about, Ill share what I can remember The singer of this band ( Oliver ) had a really close friend growing up and I believe He was in the band with them, He lost his father to suicide (I believe, its been awhile) & this song is an ode to Their friend, He doesnt leave the house. When they would go to visit Him, He tells his Mom Hes not leaving his room, He doesnt wanna talk to anybody. This song is about Oliver wanting to bring the Boys Father back, and Him going to Heaven to bring Him back to Earth.

LYRICS We stare at broken clocks, the hands don't turn anymore. The days turn into nights, empty hearts and empty places. The day you lost him, I slowly lost you too. For when he died, he took a part of you. No time for farewells, no chances for goodbyes. No explanations, no fucking reasons why. I watched it eat you up, pieces falling on the floor. We stare at broken clocks, the hands don't turn anymore. If only sorrow could build a staircase, our tears could show the way. I would climb my way to heaven, and bring him back home again. Don't give up hope, my friend, this is not the end. We stare at broken clocks, the hands don't turn anymore. The days turn into nights, empty hearts and empty places. The day you lost him, I slowly lost you too. For when he died, he took a part of you. Death is only a chapter, so let's rip out the pages of yesterday. Death is only a horizon. And I'm ready for the sun, I'm ready for the sun, to set. THIS IS SUICIDE SEASON! [Whispering:] If only sorrow could build a staircase, or tears could show the way. We would climb our way to heaven, and bring him home again. If only sorrow could build a staircase, our tears could show the way. We would climb our way back to heaven, and bring him home again. If only sorrow could build a staircase, our tears could show the way. We would climb our way to heaven, and bring him home again. This is Suicide Season. [x2] If only sorrow could build a staircase, our tears could show the way. We would climb my way to heaven, and bring him back home again. [x2] If only sorrow could build a staircase, our tears could show the way. We would climb our way to heaven, and bring him back home again. [x3] We would do anything to bring him back to you. We would do anything to end what you're going through. If only sorrow could build a staircase, our tears could show the way. I would climb my way to heaven, and bring him home again. I would do anything to bring him back to you. Because if you got him back, I would get back the friend that I once knew.

When I was a kid I thought this song was awesome maybe because it just felt angsty at the time. Now at 28 it breaks my heart. After my fiancee's brother took his life. We've been together since we were kids so I loved him too. The line "We stare at broken clocks, the hands don't turn anymore" is so true. It felt like time stood still all day. No one talking. Then the line "The day you lost him, I slowly lost you too For when he died, he took a part of you" is sadly too real. Im filled with guilt everyday because I saw what he was going through and I could've reached out more. I could've tried harder. There's so many things I could've said. I saw it coming but didn't want to really believe it. I wish I could climb to heaven and bring him back to everyone. I wish I could hug him and tell him he isn't alone. If you see someone declining mentally do everything you can possibly do to make sure they feel like they aren't alone. That they are loved. You don't want to carry this type of guilt. Everyone always says it gets better with time. No it doesn't. This guilt only grows stronger every damn year. Hug your loved ones people. Call your friends and check up on them. Everything can change in a second.

In the chorus when Oli says “For when he died, he took a part of you”, I really enjoyed how he hit the word “you” with a death growl, but later when he sings the chorus once more, he hits the word with a screaming vocal. This shows some of the talent and uniqueness that he has as a singer.

When I first found BMTH when they released their album "Survival Horror" in 2020, I immediately loved them, I slowly became a mega-fan of the band. It was only around 2022 when one of my closest friends lost his life to cancer. I never really had a chance to process it for almost an entire year, until I fully listened to Suicide Season. The final track of the self titled Suicide Season really just hit me, especially the ending lyrics... If only sorrow could build a staircase, our tears could show the way. We would climb our way to heaven, to bring him home again... 2006 - 2022

I like new Bring me the Horizon, their music has evolved to be more melodic and complex, but this early style is awesome too. This was the first album I heard from then, I liked it too, but didn’t think much of them, was a little too heavy for me to listen to regularly even at the time, coming back to it though, its better than I remember.

Complex? No but definitely more melodic I agree completely

I'm so thankful to have found this band. Diamonds Aren't Forever was my gateway over 10 years ago, and I've been following them ever since. They've grown so much over the years... it's really amazing. There's an album for every mood.

I'm glad to say that i always listened to bmth, ever since medusa and shit, and got to see their evolution. I dunno what people expect from the band, do you want them to just do the same thing over and over again? A band has to evolve, find their sound, even if it means that the band will become more mainstream, it just has to happen.

This is from their second album. This wasn't even a single from this album so not many people would want to check it out (especially with the fans that came aboard with that's the spirit and that do not digest anything from this album apart from chelsea smile) .It was just uploaded on youtube by epitaph for revenue sake. Happy Song was a single for the highly anticipated "that's the spirit" album, therefore it is definitely going to have way more views. Also people do not know how to listen to the emotions transmitted by screams in songs. For them it is just a guy screaming meaningless things. But when you read the lyrics, understand how and why the song was written, you'd understand how powerful the song is. It is EASILY one of the best songs ever composed by BMTH. I don't expect anyone that knew them from "that's the spirit" to realize that.

Only on this album and others like it can you write a song that has elements of all the songs on the album, case in point: This album has nudeathcore songs, numetalcore songs, and the intro to the sadness will never end starts out soft, and this song has ALL of the elements on it. Good job Oli, good job.

reminds me of the last train from southend, stolen gin.. wondering why my heart hurts and my stomach turns... 4 mile walk 1am country roads with no path, utter darkness until the cokeheads scream past near 100... sleeping on copper pipes in a shed... i remember so much, of so little of those days. shutters.. and something about scotland. did i change or just forget that its the same.. i have no idea where im going.. with this or anything.

i believe this is inspired by this poem: If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane. I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken, No time to say "Goodbye". You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to love you - No one can ever know. But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more; To remember all the happy times life still has much in store. Since you'll never be forgotten, I pledge to you today~ A hollowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay. (unknown author)

For anyone wondering, this song was written about Oli's good friend, whose dad committed suicide. After he died, his friend became a total bitch to him and everyone. That's why he wanted to bring his friend's dad back from Heaven, so he could get back the friend he once knew.

I came back to this song and wanted to look at the comment section, like most people here, I was an edgy kid who would listen to this song alone and cry, fast forward to turning 21 this year and I'm grieving the loss of someone close to me who took their life. It eats at me, it eats at my family, and I've never resonated with these lyrics as much as I do now.

the same happened to me days ago, im dying alive, be strong mate
@georgia4690 Жыл бұрын
@@sadsoup2048 I'm so sorry to hear that, while our situations may be different- I feel your pain and sorrow, it's indescribable, and it's ugly and it just doesn't feel real. There will be times you feel lonely and like no one understands what you're going through, the people who do- keep them close, as long as you feel listened to. The people who stay in your corner at your darkest moments are truly your people. Stay strong and take care of yourself man, I know it's easier said than done, but it starts with taking things minute by minute, hour by hour, and if you need anyone to talk to I'd be more than willing to lend a listening ear. You're much stronger than you think you are, sending my wishes and condolences for you.

This song is my favorite from the album. It's so meaningful. And every time when I listen to suicide season I think about many difficult things. I really got into this song. It makes me feel alive. Though I listen bmth since Sempiternal ( I was 13 y.o), I love their heavy albums. And the Suicide season is the best for me.
