Hey Jose, Thank You very much!. I loved how this design you could open the whole side of the case and get to every component! I miss these convenient designs! Now you can't work on Macs hardly at all :( Well it's in my collection now for sure :) But I'm going to upgrade it and see if I can install newer OS on it. Might do a bunch of videos for it lol. I truly need to invest in a VGA capture card to improve my video quality for these old machines though.

@@RememberThisTech Perhaps you could try installing Adelie Linux Power PC Edition or Debian for Power PC., and installing the maximum amount of ram., should help.

Bout 15 years ago I had fun taking one of these G4s from the dump, upgrading it, and giving it to a kid that used it for a few years. I found the before and after specs: Specs when I found her: OS X 10.3 Panther 466mhz PowerPC CPU 512mb of PC133 SDRAM 20gb IBM Deathstar Harddrive ATI Rage Pro AGP Video Card. She has been updated with: OS X 10.4 Tiger OS 9.2 (for running a few classic games) 1gb of Ram 60gb Samsung Harddrive I had installed a whole bunch of educational and fun games. I say try installing 10.3 or 10.4 on it. You still won’t get much out of it, but you’ll be able to install newer than 9.22 stuff on it. And now that everyone is on the retro wagon, it should be easy to find people that know what and where to get good stuff for it.

Yours had the agp slot and slightly faster cpu. I think I can get tiger on mine. I'll be taking a well deserved vaca soon so we shall see how much I can do:)

BTW, it’s very time consuming, but people love retrofitting old Apple cases with new PC Hardware! Everything from these, the cubes, the half balls, and most certainly the aluminum Power Macs.

I've seen some sleeper builds with the G5 cheese grater silver aluminum cases. All new intel mobo cpu gpu, etc. I'm not there yet. But if I get one that's not repairable, I will definitely trick it out :)

My G4 could not handle much past 2008.

I wouldn't say it's a speed demon lol but it was fun getting it working :)
