Great video. Just what I was looking for, as I have a 2710 since new. I recently had to replace the RAM and have a new SSD on order to replace the original HDD. The fan seems to run high all the time, though. What could cause that? I did do a good dusting, but I believe there is more dust to clean after seeing how clogged your power supply was. I will also put new thermal paste on. If I do all this and the fan still runs high, what do you recommend?
@RememberThisTechКүн бұрын
@sts4ya Hi there and tyvm. I took all the small cooling fans out and blew them out and cleaned the fins well. Reposted the gpu and cpu hestsinks. See if you can update the cbipset drivers from Dell. Might help. You could also try and download a fan speed program. If I rem the name of one I'm going to try on my system I'll reply here. You will also need a temp monitoring program just to make sure you cpu or gpu isn't truly running hot. But some fan software has that built in too. First see how it runs after the repaste and let me know.

@claudiusviracocha16515 күн бұрын
I tried it with an I3 9100 cpu, 2x8 Gb DDR 4. It is actually designed to use "from" the 10 series Intel cpu! I updated the BIOS to activate the resizable BAR and it works very well! Since the PC set the A770 sound as the primary sound card, I had to reactivate the motherboard sound in the BIOS and select "Enabled", because the "automatic" option blocked the motherboard sound card after BIOS update! I am a regular home computer gamer and these maximum FPS don't really matter, the main thing is that the games run well and the graphics are good! Before, there was ASUS ROG-STRIX-RX580-O8G-GAMING+, with 3 fans and it also works very well and stably with many new games and does not mess up or chop in games at all and works fast, especially with older computers and CPUs and the graphics are just as good as with the Sparkle GPU, but of course Sparkle surpasses many graphics cards on the market in terms of capabilities, video processing and streaming and power and offers stably better and more clearly visible graphic elements on the computer and 4K TV screen than many other graphics cards!

I am in the UK and PC parts are pretty expensive even on the used market, I am interested to know what this system is comparable to as I always just go INTEL. Exchange rate of $525 to UK is £417, for that price I could probably build a PC using a combination of second hand and new parts from Amazon, EBAY and CEX and get something like an i7 9700k and a GTX 1070 / 1080 non TI / 1660 TI. So what do you think would be the better option overall?
@RememberThisTech18 күн бұрын
@InvictusManeo. Hi there. For rough comparison sake the Ryzen 8600g is close to an i5-12500 . No the ryzen 8600g 760m igpu will perform much better. The ryzen should run cooler with less wattage then the 9900k and a 1070 gpu will give you a bit better fps.. but consider another point, that cpu is on a dead platform. This AM5 socket has a lot of years to go. Plus you could drop in a video card later or a Ryzen 9000 cpu. It's got some future proofing and new tech stuff, plus upgradable. Don't get me wrong I rocked an i9 9900k for years but now I'm at a 13700k. I'm not a fan boy or blue or red. But AMD cpus have been doing awesome lately. Let me know what you decide. Biggest difference of value drives vs more expensive ones is the value ones can slow down a lot on a big file transfer (think 100GB or something)
@RememberThisTech17 күн бұрын
That's very true for a lot of the bigger cheaper brands. But some of the newer drives like this or my new Samsung 990 Evo plus has enough HMB cache that the transfer speeds don't drop like a stone anymore due to the fact that they can recover filled cache somehow now.

I was gonna get an AISURIX RX 580 with 3 DP and HDMI, but ordered a Soyo one instead as it was $8 cheaper. Just realized and checked the number of display outputs after watching your video the Soyo one I ordered only has 1 HDMI and 1 DP. Even the AISURIX ones were confusing as some also just have 1 HDMI & 1 DP while others have 1 HDMI & 2 DP or 1 HDMI & 3 DP. Anyway 2 outputs is fine for me since at most I'll only gave 2 monitors at a given time.
@RememberThisTech18 күн бұрын
Heh yeah it makes no sense how one rx580 from the same manufacturer can be so different as far as the outputs etc. Unless they refurbish the pcb or 580 chips and some are only capable of certain outputs, clock speeds etc. My guess. Shrug. But yea 2 video outs is fine for most people for sure. Hope you card works OK for you!
@abunk869118 күн бұрын
@RememberThisTech Thanks. Hopefully it does work out as my RX 5600XT is in the process of dying to the point that even underclocking and undervolting it from 180w down to 90w is not making it stable. There's a good chance that card was abused (mined on) somewhere in China before it got to me since I got it used and it was very dirty and acts up from time to time. Its bad enough now that of 4 display outs only 1 works now and it randomly dies within 30mins to 3hrs since just before Christmas. With my PC down I'm really hoping the RX 580 would turn up fine in 2 weeks time. I was aiming for used GPUs at first then remembered that my bad luck with my past 2 used GPUs so I gone down the "new" route. Between a new RX 550 and the RX 580 I got it was like $6 so it just made sense to get the 580 for extra performance and vram if I end up needing it. I'll probably undervolt the 580 anyway since I don't game to drop power usage and keep it cool and hopefully last longer.

Its an all white one with a similar heatsink to the second one you shown in the video, but a different plastic shroud and white backplate. I was expecting 2 display outs per the pictures but got a unit with 4 ports (1 HDMI & 3 DP). There were some oddities: - fan speed is just showing 0 rpm and not controllable on either Adrenaline or MSI Afterburner - AMD Radeon Adrenaline not showing any clock speed or voltage adjustment options - MSI Afterburner also can't see the voltages so I couldn't test undervolting - under Linux using CoreCtrl the clock speed and voltage adjustments are available which puzzles me - of the 4 display out ports, the right most DP is limited to 1920x1200 much like a DVI port (I suspect there's a DVI to DP converter internally) I'll be keeping an eye on the RX 580 as I got 30 days to file for a return if something is wrong, but I hope it stays all good.
