G3/G4! Many moons ago I found that same one at a dump. Using all spare parts, I gave it more ram, a larger hd, and it became a kid's PC for 2+ years. Big haul of IDE systems lol.

@@RememberThisTech I say go for it. You will come across toddlers fascinated with computers that offer far larger screens than a tablet. And kids don't know about the internet. They will love vintage games!

I had that HP desktop, except it was a pentium 4 system. It had the first pentium 4 dual core CPU.

@chenzen4915 Cool! It's probably faired better than this one. I found the caps burst or bulging on most of this mobo. This is why it won't boot or post.

You mean the pentium D? I still have the 945 from my old build, it was a pice of crap compared to core 2 but I loved it lol

I recently bought a yellow new old stock Chieftec case in the same style for a retro build, but it's one of the aluminum ones and I love it. The blue one is a gem!

Wow, that's an awesome find! Can't belive you got a new old stock one. Bet it's also lighter than mine as it's aluminum, lol. I think I'll clean this one up and upgrade it a bit in a future video. Thanks for watching and commenting

@@RememberThisTech it's funny - the exact opposite happened from when you lifted it. It was shockingly light when I took it out of the case! It's the same style with a kidney bean window, but has a side fan and front USB. I put Alienware badging on it and yellow LEDs inside. I also however did NOT cable manage it for beans. It is on my todo list! These cases just don't have the ability to hide cables like the new ones do haha

@offroader23 Yeah I never was one for cable management back in the day either lol. Also back then their was no Modular Power supplies or sata to help. Dam ide ribbon cables and one would be lucky not to get a random cable in a fan blade lol.

Nice score, especially the G4. When one of my previous workplaces went bankrupt. They had much stuff left in new old stock, I scored a G4 and a G3 with the original boxes and a 21 CRT studio display, also in the original box and it has a regular vga connector aswell. Also an unused black Chieftec tower case, and 3 black atx M@trix Midi tower case. All these are from the late 90s, early 2000s. I was very happy when I got it. I also had all these before this a G4 and a G5 fully working. And two emply mac cases from mac pro 1.1 and power mac g5. And I love that are still available Linux distros outthere for powerpc like Adélie linux. (also available for other platforms).

I had a cousin of that blue case, except mine had another flip-up door lower down with USB, Firewire, and audio connections behind it. And mine had a solid side panel, not acrylic. I always - ALWAYS - had trouble getting those two internal drive cages to slot in and lock properly.

@CantankerousDave hehe yeah my old case like this had the same issuse with those drive cages. My old case didn't have acrylic either. Ty for watching

Nunca había visto ese modelo de Apple , seria interesante revivirlo de nuevo y ver hasta que versión de sistema operativo se puede actualizar. De las otras 2 cajas, me ha sorprendido la HP con ese compartimento para albergar el disco duro externo.

hey man i have that Blue case but the logo on the front is the alienware logo and it has two usb and audio on the front but everything else is the same!

video issue on first always try reseating ram first. its usually the ram when its an video issue, just a tip

@Zoometryfr Good tip ty. Laurence also suggested I try that as well. But alas that didn't work, and if I hadn't been so tired, I'd have taken a close look at the Caps. 50% were bulging and leaking ugg. I didn't want to try and recap the mobo, so I'm salvaging the good parts. Video card works, on to testing ram and hdds now. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it.
