I've never seen Les Miserables, the movie or any theatre production, but I promise you, if and when we get through this calamitous period the world is suffering... I WILL, AND BY GOD I WILL, BE TRAVELLING TO THE UK AND WATCH "Les Mis" AT THE WESTEND!!! Since the lockdown I've seen the Les Mis 10 year anniversary special on KZbin at least 19 times and I'm Loving It. The performances of Phillip Quast as Javert and Colm Wilkinson as Valjean are just outstanding.

You won't regret it. I saw the original production at the Queen's before it shut down for the retrofit/renaming. No matter how good the filmed version is, seeing it live is just beyond your expectations. I knew the score inside out thanks to my CD of the 10th anniversary Dream Cast, and I was still sobbing throughout the performance. And let's just say the things they've done with the the sound system make you feel as if you're in the middle of the action, which was just mind blowing.

I saw it as well, last Sept 25 '19. Excellent concert! We missed seeing Alfie Boe, as he was supposed to be in the show that night, but John Owen-Jones did well. People seated around us were doing quiet sobs, like usual!

I have seen loads of shows in London, but this one was by far the one that made the most impact on me. I saw the musical itself numerous times, but there was something so powerful with this Staged Concert version that absolutely had me in pieces. Never experienced a London audience at the end of the first act, literary jumping into a standing ovation with the loudest cheering in a London theater I ever heard. Brilliant cast, I had the privilege to have John Owen Jones , who was phenomenal , but who wasn't? Bradley , Rob, Carrie , Shan, Matt and Katy, Micheal and really the magnificent cast made this a night I will never forget. and let us not forget the incredible orchestra..It really can not get any better then this. I soooooo miss live theater! Hope this will be available outside the UK Soon!

The National Theatre and Andrew Lloyd Webber do free streams on KZbin available for 2 days after streaming. You could do that too for people who have lost their income and as much as they would like, cannot spend money on a download like that.

But they are all films which have had a commercial release in the past. The production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom at the Royal Albert Hall (produced by Cameron Mackintosh) was on digital download, DVD and Blu-ray 9 years ago, and on TV. Same with Joseph. So they’ve recouped all their production costs and paid actors, musicians, creative teams long ago. This release allows artists to get paid, and donates to charity. Recent movies like The Invisible Man lost their cinema releases so went straight to digital download for £13.99 rental. So they can try and recoup their costs. This Featurette has been made in the last 2 weeks as a free addition.

Les Miz is one of my favorite musicals of all time. I hated hated hated the original broadway production - it embodied everything wrong with 80s Broadway theatre. Every other staging or concert version I've seen is better, and this is no exception.

I have seen les miserables twice, but I would love to see it in France. So if there is any French people no pressure! I think it would be really cool to do it for the French opening ceremony for the Olympics. In 2024! So hope they do! I think people would love it too. It is loved all over the world and it would be so cool to have it showing off where it all started. To all French people I hope you at least think about it!

Considering ALW is doing free streaming of his shows, i think it's shameful to have to pay to see this during a time when many are out of work...you should do what Webber is doing...stream it free for a few days with a donate option...michael ball is one of my very favorite musical performers and it's killing me not to get to see him in this bc i can't afford splurges right now...😢

@@NerdJam i myself am a performer and also the artistic director of a community theatre...i volunteer MUCH time to the arts and don't get paid a cent for my hard work...i worked professionally for a number of years so i know the theatre world...sorry but during a worldwide pandemic with over 80 million in America alone out of work, is shameful...getting to see shows for free on the weekends has been a bright light for many of us....i understand they need to make money, well I'm sure ALW has been able to raise a good chunk of change due to his generosity...would be nice if cameron and crew were as empathetic.

Michael Gilroy you need a UK bank account to purchase it, but if you have a friend you trust in the UK, you can ask them to log into your account and buy it for you with their UK debit card. (And then you pay them back of course!) then you will be able to watch it even though you’re not in the UK.
