I have been looking forward to this video for so long!! I have finally picked up my 911 930 Turbo from Williams Crawford down in Plymouth. The last time I saw this car was in December when I signed the paperwork to say she was mine...

My GTI Clubsport (seen on my channel) must be an expert on walking on hands as it sends its Stage 1 @ 360 hp/462 torque (at the moment) to push 100% of the power to the front! (and its relative Clubsport S took the world record at Nürburgring once upon a time) The standard Clubsport sharing same engine & turbo as Golf R however! Welcome to check my mods here! 👍

@@jbmectronic4314 What front-wheel-drive cars have over RWD vehicles is their improved traction, which results from their weight distribution. In front-wheel-drive vehicles, the weight of the engine above the front tires allows the tires to grip the road more effectively. This extra traction makes front-drive cars useful when it snows or when you need to navigate poorly paved roads. Since pulling is more effective than pushing when a vehicle has to dislodge itself from mud or snow, FWD vehicles are especially great for getting out of low-traction parking spots. When equipped with winter tires, a front-wheel-drive vehicle can manage winter trips much more reliably than RWDs. In addition to better traction, FWD cars typically have more room than vehicles with rear-wheel-drive. That's because the transverse engines in most FWDs don't extend to the interior compartment space, unlike in rear-wheel-drive cars. Many RWDs require a central tunnel through the middle of the car that creates a hump in the floor of the passenger area, to cover the driveshaft joining the rear wheels and engine. This extra room in front-wheel-drive vehicles ensures passengers are more comfortable and allows for extra storage space. FWD cars also tend to be cheaper to manufacture. Since front-drive powertrains are produced as single units, building FWDs requires fewer parts, making for less expensive assembly. Front-drive powertrains are also lighter than the transmission and axle assemblies in RWDs, so they get better gas mileage, saving you money. Many economy cars are FWDs because they're more cost and space-efficient. The more compact designs of FWDs also ensures they can be manufactured smaller than RWDs. Lastly it is far safer for the car to go off the road frontwards than sideways. Cars that slide sideways off the road are far more likely to roll over or flip. Even if it doesn’t, it’s much more dangerous to crash sideways, because there is much less space to protect passengers between the side and top of the car, as well as occupants heads, than there is in the front. The bottom line is that most cars work better with FWD. They’re cheaper, have more room, get better gas mileage, and are safer.

@@tredfxman Yep, cant argue with that but, from a car enthusiasth point of view, I dont appreciate how fwds act. When it comes to rwds I really appreciate the extra weight on the rear, and also having the possibility to change direction even slightly with using the gas.. Having a drivetrain to the rear also gives you better breaking since theres actually a meaning with having big rear brakes compared to a fwd which locks up with smal brakes.. Also, why do f1 have rwd? Also, burnouts? Also your GTI clubsport is a Great car, but I personally always buy rwds as my enthusiast car, because I have less problem paying for in my opinion better engineering..

I had to wait 5 days before my mom died. when I was 58 to hear it, and it made all the difference in the world to me. Never heard it from my dad before he killed himself. He did leave a letter blaming me for a lot of things though. Good times!

The 911 is awesome, love it! It was that shape that i fell in love with at aged 10 and bought a 997.1 C2S 42 years later after my beautiful wife passed away, so it is bitter sweet! 👍👍 I used to drive my friend’s father’s 1986 silver and red leather 930 when brand new. He let it sit too long and dealer had to rebuild engine as all seals dry rotted two years later. Awesome car, second gear went on forever. Good luck and keep it up, great channel and videos.

Just stumbled on this video this morning while home sick, and to be honest Im not that big into KZbin, so i dont really know much about you, in my late 40's and losing the race when it comes to technology!!!, but I love the car, proper Porsche!! I also love your dad's description of an older car, those smells are the epitome of the classics. I own an 83 astra mk1 estate 1600s and I just love going out to the workshop and sitting in the car and smelling stuff!!😆😆😆😆 I know, I know, what am I like!!?? Omg... The Porsche is beautiful. I have always wanted a 911 ever since my Dad had a mint, orange 911t in the eighties 🙂. He also had a Jensen Interceptor 3, Ferrari 308 GT4 and Jaguar XJ-S amongst others around this time. Fantastic videos that keep me entertained at the driving test centres when my learners are out on test 🙂. Hoping to get my R1 out soon as the weather improves 👍

Congrats on an excellent choice from an old fart in the States! I’m 57 and shortly after my 58th I’ll be purchasing my own dream Porsche- a 981 Cayman S! Mid engined all the way baby! I learned to drive in 1977 in a 912 and have wanted a Porsche ever since. There really is no substitute for me and so many other enthusiasts. Congrats also on 100k subscribers. Just found your channel and I love your work, and also your taste. The green really is great and I happen to like the wheels that came with it but go with your heart on that. My Dad was my best friend as well and these days, it seems almost rare to see that. Make sure to get that race set up between you...I’m guessing his Vogue has long gone but his current ride will be good as well! Look after that Porsche...keep all the original bits to return it to how it is should you come to sell it (you could use the seats as office furniture for guests!!) but then enjoy it forever.
