Try to beat Thousand Year Door without healing. Items that restore HP and/or FP, sleeping at inns, healing blocks, picking up flowers and hearts in the over world, Sweet Treat And Feast are not allowed. The only way to heal is by level ups and bingos.

I think there's definitely a lot of instances where you could have made this run a lot less totally terrible if you added in something like a "solved fight" clause. If you have zap tap, nothing but swoopers, and a dead partner, if you just used normal attacks to make it take 16 fewer turns you mightve saved an hour or two, while not "saving" yourself any HP

Next one should be items only. It's build-on from "no attacking" but you remove the special move spam from that challenge. I think it's possible with money grinding and using Item Hog. Obviously, the 2 time use of Gulp against Iron Clefts is the exception

Unfortunate that it couldn't exactly end the way we would've wanted, but crazy run!I feel like the only necessary improvement needed would be to save Stampede, so you can redirect the buffs given to Goombella during the last fight to Yoshi. Peril+boosted Ground Pound + Stampede + Mini-egg should do enough extra damage to win the fight. I do like the interesting strategies and niche uses some moves get in this challenge, tedious as it may have been to play through!

If you (or anybody else) were to attempt this challenge again, some ideas I’ve got would be not bringing thunder rage or fire flower, and purchasing them from the pit merchant instead after clearing up space in your inventory for them. You’d have to rely on a bit more rng, but I feel like he pops up frequently enough that it would make the capability to use two additional offensive items worth it. Also, I believe Shell Shield could defend Mario from another Bob-ulk/Bulky Bob-ulk attack just like Veil, although it would only defend against one explosion

could have used kiss thief of ms mows, though. could have grabbed a badge or an item. for exemple, at the end, could have grabbed a power plus (i think it was the partner equivalent). by activating it, you could have made more damage. combine this with a potential "non-failure" of the power bounce and you could have made it. also, not using a shit ton of power rush is fine, but being able to use "1" power rush should have been allowed. same for the partner variant.

I'm doing that on my current run. Actually, I'm doing no badges, no items, and no sleeping at inns, so all my healing has to come from Sweet Treat/Sweet Feast and Lip Lock. Honestly, between having a huge HP/FP pool and Power Lift, it hasn't been that bad, yet. The 2nd round with Doopliss has been the worst of it so far with only an unranked Vivian for backup, but I'm only about halfway through Chapter 5, so I may yet eat those words. xD

Does anybody know if there's a limit on how often movers can spawn? If it's truly independent on each floor then it's _possible_ you can get them on every floor, letting you save all your moves for Bonetail. The odds of this happening naturally are worse than one in a billion squared but with savestates it should be manageable.

Movers can spawn on every floor, and with TAS RNG manipulation you can theoretically get through the entire Pit of 100 Trials without fighting anything except for Bonetail. This Prologue Pit TAS by Malleo does exactly that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqq7q5t8ibuHqqM He does do 1 fight in order to manipulate a certain badge drop, but if you didn't need that then theoretically it's possible. Like you said, the odds of it happening make it pretty much impossible for a normal player to do.
