Indeed...I now understand why Great Britain ruled the waves and a large part of the world back then. Quite an engineering feat for the time...and still has traffic...Amazing...

One of the things that i hope will get more appreciation on this channel, is how Dave always finds new and interesting viewpoints to feature in his walks. I absolutely loved this walk, and I'm looking forward to all the unique ones you have in store for us in the future. Great job Mate.

Another trip down memory lane for me Dave as I lived in Bristol for 6yrs before moving down to Paignton, and I've crossed the bridge many times. If you ever find yourself in Bristol again try the River Frome path from Oldbury Court to Eastville Park via Snuff Mills. I guarantee both yourself and your viewers will enjoy it!

@@DavesWalks i had to laugh at myself for that one. i mean, the neighbourhood is beautiful and all, but eye-teeth is as far as i'm willing to go. did you happen to notice if anyone was selling one of those mansion houses for a pair of eye-teeth? do let me know. ❤️

Thank you for coming to my City, and this walk round the Bridge & the Gorge, you had a beautiful day for it. Can I just highlight 2 spots near the start, 1 at 1:20:00, RIP Olive Cook, an elderly Poppy seller who jumped off in 2015, where those paddocks are. Then as you go round the corner towards the road, on the right is the rock-slide, which is thousands of years old. Children still use it.

That grass area next to The Observatory (building) is a Prehistoric village site. (The Observatory, originally a mill, has a Victorian camera Obscura). That, and a cave walk accessed in the Observatory, are open to the public for a small charge. The Observatory also has a small cafe. A visitor centre (with 2 rooms) is on the further side of the Bridge. (Other Prehistoric encampments are on the opposite, Leigh Woods, side. Stoke Leigh camp is open to the public, in Leigh Woods

I believe there will be a good number of routes, unfortunately I didn’t explore beyond what I filmed so don’t know where they are or how far along that bottom path they would be.

Wonder how often the words "don't jump" are heard?? :-)
@DavesWalks
@DavesWalks Жыл бұрын
far too often I guess sadly. The whole bridge is under closely monitored cctv, if someone does start looking over the edge too contemplatively, I think staff are VERY quick to respond to try and prevent a tragedy from happening. Hopefully 'don't jump' is heard far more often than 'do a backflip'. Brits can sometimes be quite insensitive to another persons complete despair..

It might be that allowing a bungee chord experience would be enough to get the thrill out of ones system....:-)
