2:23 - 2:42 is the best sound in this video. Brings back a lot of memories when engines sounded good.

I miss old Sheffield, and the old school buses , that voith gearboxed atlantean passing with the occasional 'whistle ' noise was so distinctive outside our flats when they were pulling up and pulling away from bus stop , the 80s,/90s sadly missed.

@@stevedickson5853 lol I bet the various engineers behind buses never thought of the emotional impact the noise would have on people. I treasure my young school days on AEC Swifts now long gone. One good thing is I savoured every ride. Funny how they originally fell into my lap in my day to day life only for me to hunt them down far and wide to experience them more.

@@jamesfrench7299 my memories of the Swifts were on the 31 and 8 & 9 circular as a kid, sat high up at the back with the sun shining through the amber skylights, still Swift 54 survives, never moves but survives

@@stevedickson5853 yours was on an 8&9 mine were on the 89 on the other side of the world here in Sydney in the early 80s. Very smooth units with 505 engine and tall 4.1 diff ratio on a town bus!
