Absolutely. Those guys are amazing. I would never want to be on the receiving end of their wrath. I've known several of them over the years, and had more than one say of the Marine Scout Snipers that "now those guys are SCARY." Having also known a couple of snipers, I concur. When the SEALs roll in, they'll flatten you like a steamroller, and then vanish into the night. When the sniper hits you, OTOH, you'll never even know they were there. You'll just suddenly be kaput, and nobody - not even the SEALs - will ever know where the shot came from.

I believe it was Seal Team 6 that took out Bin Laden. My husband and I were active duty U.S. Navy. When we were stationed in the Philippines in the early 90's our house on base was at the top of Binictican Heights, a steep incline up a low mountain. The temp in the Philippines ranges from 90 to 100 degrees. Every afternoon they would raise the black flag which is a warning to stay indoors because it is too hot for safe outdoor activity. The Seal Team for Subic Bay would come running, not jogging, full out running up that mountain with full gear (packs) on their backs every day when the black flag was flying. These guys made it look easy. I've never lost my respect for these Naval warriors.

I went to HS with a guy who became a SEAL. He was a 3 time state champion wrestler. Dave was a member of Southern Command. He was a member of The team that ended Pablo Escobar. He was a demolition expert. Dave couldn't say where he was in South and Central America, but he would send me bottles of Tequila from whatever country he was operating in and I would scan the Newspapers, radio and TV to see where something went... BOOM. The guy is just different. We get together once or twice a year.. PS: Dave says it was one of his Seal Team members that took the shot, that got Escobar. Rick Charleston SC

I met a team of SEALS while onboard the USS Kiersarge in 2010. Some of the toughest looking but easy going guys I ever talked to. Didn’t interact much but did get to do some target practice off the flight deck and saw them taking off in helicopters a lot headed for somewhere off the coasts of Somalia and Yemen. No idea what they did but a couple of times they’d come back with one more person than they left and that guy would be wearing special bracelets and a hood.

The attrition rate is for BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) is pretty high. Only about 9.5% of the total that start finish SEAL qualification training. And that's just the basic stuff. BUD/S is 24 weeks, then Parachute jump school is 3 weeks, then SEAL Qualification Training (SQT) is 26 weeks. Even when you get to a Troop the training doesn't stop. Those dudes are pretty much always training, attending some course or another.

I live in san diego , i know a few seals , their HQ is here in San Diego . I met a few when i used to uber since i worked closed to where they live. Then we became friends and they called me when they needed a ride since they trusted me. Most of them you would not think they where seals , they are not your stereotypical guys that are all muscle, well most of them. They look like any other person because they want to blend in . cool guys to hang around with , i even got invited to the range with a couple of them since iam a gun person . Most of them live in a gated comunity here in san diego, and building downtown san diego. BTW that sea traiing is brutal , like i said i live in san diego and they do that here , and the water is freezing cold , i myself havent got in to the water in years and i live like 2 miles from the beach lol . These guys go in it at 3 ,4 5 am, and during BUDS or hell week , they do not sleep for 5 days . (69-90, retired SCPO). he knew and was friends with a few seals, but i didn't know that at the time. i only found out later after he and i learned that some the missions he had been on with them had been declassified. he was on spy subs during the 70's and 80's. he got tired of transferring bases for a promotion (because he had 3 kids under 13 at the time) and repeatedly refused a promotion to an e-9. he only stuck it out until he hit 21 years for the extra bump in pension.

I know this is not a popular thing to say to this crowd, but the Blue Angels and the Air Force's similar stunt flying unit are essentially recruiting tools and I think their close formation and some of their other flying over dense cities is unnecessarily dangerous as well as a bit of a poke in the eye to any civilians who object to the noise and having their pets terrified. I live in downtown San Francisco and every year during "Fleet Week" they do their tricks right over the city as well as more appropriately over the Bay. And every year I wonder if this is the year one of those planes is going to experience a tiny error or a little glitch that brings it down in the heart of the city. Let me repeat what I said above: I'm a Navy retiree. I knew many pilots during my career. I'm not anti-military. I just think stunt flying right over cities takes too many risks.

@@andiross3176 "Flying over" isn't really what I'm talking about unless they did one of those maneuvers where the wing tips appear to be inches (but are probably a couple of feet) apart. Also, once is one thing. Where I live--quite near San Francisco City Hall--they do it for 3 days (2 days of "practice" and then the show) for several hours at a time every year. They could do the same tricks over the Bay with all their fans on the shore.

I served 23 years in the U.S. Navy and I met many Seals however I was not a seal (I would not even pass the mental requirements) Seals do train very hard but so do all of the other Special Forces that we have, Rangers, Recons, Delta Force, Green Berets, etc…… We have lots of different specialty units in every branch. I think Navy Seals are mentally taxing but I would never say that a seal is the most elite, I have met some very smart men from every branch, also very tough guys. Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing, I never wanted to be a seal (I am terrible at writing books which seals are famous for) while our special ops are very important so are other jobs (Cooks, Seamen, Communications, Corpsmen, etc.) it takes a lot of Logistics to actually win.

There’s probably more navy seals than you’d think. There’s about 2500 of them. The most notable equivalent would probably be the army rangers, which there are over 3000. There’s also the green berets but they aren’t as “notable” as the rangers and have a different focus than standard warfare. However, there are 5 special units that stand above all the rest. The 2 most notable are delta force and what’s commonly called seal team 6. Delta force is the army’s most specialized unit. It’s mostly made up of the best rangers and green berets. Seal team 6 is the best 300 or so navy seals. It’s split up into 6 different teams with their own speciality. Washout rates for these groups is not publicly known but usually former members will say around 80-90% don’t make it.

Want to see a SEAL mission? The closest you are likely to get is watching the 2012 movie Act of Valor. You’ll be thinking “the acting could be better” until you realize these are actual SEALs who were ordered to take part in the movie (they all refused at first), so they look right and move right. One of the real rarities is they show a scene with live fire mini guns and it is damn impressive. Don’t get in the way of one of those.

Donut Operator was in the same BUDS class as Mr ballin. Mr Ballin completed training and was a seal, donut rang the bell. I honestly don't remember meeting a seal, I've met Green Berets, Marine Raiders (grandfather was an original Raider in 43), and AFSOC (my cousin's unit). My uncle trained with them, they gave him bodyguard detail so he was volunteered to be taught by seal instructors. He went on patrols with them in Beirut after the car bomb - they were down men and since he had trained with them they had a good idea how he'd react. So when the Admiral was in a secure facility he was given to the seal team for patrols.

Seal Team 6 is now known as Devgru (Development Group) There is no 9 as a 9 looks like a 6 upside down. Naval Special Warfare Group 1: SEAL Teams 1, 3, 5, 7. Naval Special Warfare Group 2: SEAL Teams 2, 4, 8, 10. Naval Special Warfare Group 3: SEAL Delivery Vehicle Teams 1. (SDT) Naval Special Warfare Group 4: Special Boat Teams 12, 20, 22 (SWCC) Odd #'s on the East Coast and Even #'s on the West Coast. Each team has approx. 50 operators, broken down into individual squads of 16. These can be further broken down as the mission requires. Example- a 2 man sniper team may be attached to a regular Marine or even Army unit to provide "overwatch" while performing a mission. So 50 per team, that's approx 600, now add Special Warfare Center, higher command, and BUDs instructors and I'd guess close to 1000 total.

Old school original Seal training as I heard of was totally insane and the Seals of now a day wouldn't make it through the training of back then, because it was that Brutal of mental and physical training. Years of my uncle telling me about things you won't hear about is how many Soldiers die just trying to become a Seal given the Core owns you at that point and can say and make-up anything to cover the true story up. Here ya go: Yes, Navy SEALs in training go without sleep for five and a half days during Hell Week, the most difficult part of their training. During this time, they only get four hours of sleep total. During Hell Week, candidates also run more than 200 miles, and experience being cold, hungry, wet, and sandy. To survive, some say they: Stayed in constant motion Stayed uncomfortable Psychologically broke each day into a series of six-hour stretches until the next meal

2:43 I had a friend that was a Navy seal, the first time through training he actually failed but he reapplied and got through all the training the second time. It was funny, He wasn't a very big guy, but anybody that was messing with him, in any way, as soon as they found out he was Navy SEAL, They just backed off. He loved it, but he got removed from the SEALs due to injury. When he was in the field a non SEAL guy through a grenade and slipped and the grenade fell at their feet and while everybody else was trying to get away from it he grabbed it up to throw it, The grenade exploded taking two of his fingers off. The two fingers that it blew off were the middle and index finger on his right hand, basically his trigger fingers, so he couldn't stay in the seals if he was no longer able to shoot properly. He was absolutely devastated. Once he got over it I remember he had a really good attitude, he had the first segment of his index finger and two of the segments of his middle finger I was not military but I was hanging out with him and some of his military buddies at one point and they had nicknames for his finger I know that one of them was flip and the other, I can't remember what the other one was. But he had fingernails tattooed onto them.

Yes I know a SEAL. He is retired now but a good friend of mine in High School. Team 6. Don’t forget the British SAS and SBS are a bunch on bad asses too. Their training is said to be more difficult than SEAL training. See the movie The Final Option based on true events that took place in London I believe.

You need to watch the other videos on navy seals training. the hell week is crazy. they stay in the pacific ocean for hours and freeze. they have to jump in to a pool after being tide up and they can not come up for air until they untie their selves, if they do they are out of the training. If they make it through the hell week then they go to the 30 month training. Then after the 30 month they need to be picked in to a team. alot of them are not picked after all that time and effort.

BUDS (Basic Underwater Demolition School) has about a 90% DOR (Drop On Request) rate which is the highest rate of failure in all the branches. There is also what's called DEVGRU (Development Group) or more commonly known as SEAL Team 6. SEAL Team 6 is a level above a regular Navy Seal and about 50% of men who go to Green Team (SEAL Team 6 selection training) don't make it through the training and are sent back to their regular SEAL Team.

My older brother was a Navy SEAL starting in the 80s for 20+ years. Before that he was in Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) and Frogman. He was freaking AWESOME and kind!! After his time in the military was up …his wife begged him to leave out of fear. He went to a prestigious Law School and became a Naval Attorney. The best big brother anyone could ever have!! Our family joke was he could take you out and get away with it!!🤣😂 But seriously, he kept his body fat under 3% and ran marathons, and Iron Man every single year he was always ready to go. There was no need to train for this or train for that. He was in shape every single day of his life and also incredibly sweet his nickname was Opie if anybody’s familiar with the Andy Griffith show that Opie because he was funny, kind, didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, didn’t cheat on his wife, loved his parents, just an all-around American gorgeous guy never met anyone he couldn’t see the good in he was incredibly humble, super super smart, loyal, trustworthy, jumped out of airplanes into enemy territory he and his friends, would skydive in formation scuba dive, everywhere. He was our own Superman but again just the nicest, kindest, most humble guy you could ever meet oh, and he was an amazing shape and very handsome!!! He died way to young and the blue angels flew over is funeral service. Look them up. They are amazing. Bottom line. SEALS are amazing and I am so proud my brother was one of the best of the best. Only problem was all my friends had a crush on him before he got married. lol.

If you want to watch a Navy Seal mission, the closest thing you can come to is watching the movie “Act of Valor” which is a fictional movie using real active duty and retired Navy Seals as the actual Navy Seals. It gives a great idea of the type of mission sets they would be on plus you get to watch SWCC in action. Those are the River boats covered in machine guns and mini guns who hot extract (pick up Seals under fire) Seals when they need help near water

My brother has gone through the Hell Week when he was training to be a SEAL. He's now in the Navy Air Rescue. He's another level of human lol. He burned so many calories a day during Hell Week that they literally cannot eat enough to replace them. He lost tens of pounds and started it in peak condition. He had a friend who broke his femur on the first day and RAN ON HIS BROKEN FEMUR FOR TWO DAYS until the Navy finally forced him to stop. After he completed it, he video called us. He was falling asleep while eating and his eyes were nearly swollen shut. They take several days to recover afterwards. It's brutal. He tried to get me to be a SWCC (the SEALs' Boat Guys) but I know my limits lol

Those pirates had zero, and I mean zero chance of getting away with it. Very impressive stuff. It would be like an American Bald Eagle against a pigeon. ZERO chance. 🦅

2,500 to 3,000 active navy seals at any given time. Navy seals are a tier 2 special forces. Seal team 6 or Devgru are the tier one unit that took out Osama Bin laden. So you have regular navy seals, then you have Devgru or seal team 6. Devgru would be the equivalent to your SAS. Also, Delta force the army's tier one unit is equivalent to your SAS.

⚓️⚓️⚓️ I grew up with a Navy Seal friend, that was like a brother to me. He knew a few of the Seals that were portrayed in the movies Act of Valor & Lone Survivor stories. There are not many Seals as it takes a very special feat to make it out of training. And they are on a whole different mental level than most. In honor of my friend/brother, Dean Silva, RIP “Frogman”, I miss you a lot. “Improvise, Adapt, & Overcome” was their motto … “Oorah”, “Oorah” their battle cry … Miss & love you Dean 😢⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️💔

You should watch the movie Lone Survivor & do a reaction video for it. There’s people on here that have done reaction videos to it that you can watch & get an idea of how to break it down to a 30-40 minute video. It’s a true story about 4 Navy SEALs that did a mission called operation Red Wings back in 2005. It’s one of my favorite military movies & one that I think you’d really enjoy watching. Also the movie 13 Hours. I’d also recommend watching the official music video from Five Finger Death Punch called Wrong Side of Heaven. That music video really gives you a picture of how our government treats our Vets that served & made so many sacrifices for our country only too return home & get shit on by the people that sent them into harms way.

That other channel, the new Zealand Family one, you've done videos from them before. They have one not too old. I think where they watched what exactly is involved in a navy seal training, including information about how many drop out and how many make it. Maybe that would be one of your next videos? Unfortunately, I don't know who made the original video, but I'm sure it would be easy to find it, I bet they posted the link to it in their video.

There are many more detailed videos about the actual training involved. The drop out rate is about 80-85% The deadliest weapon a Seal has is their mind. They train constantly as units. And when a specific mission is assigned they practice run that till all areas are covered. And then sometimes they kinda got to wing it. lol😅

As a Brit, one way you could get a loose view of the SEALs is as a blend of the SAS, SBS, and Royal Marines Commandos. Those 3 have cross-trained with the SEALs in the past and there have been influences interchanged; take what you need and leave the rest from all 4 groups.

There is several different teams of seals and can have 20 or more per team. Not all members go on every mission. Its very detailed in the mission. I believe that its less than 10 percent actually graduate. As for knowing a Seal ?? Most Seals will never make this public unless its very close family members. And they are sworn to secrecy. Your will never see Seal photographs showing their faces. They are literally machines.

Here’s another quick story or 2 for you. Seal team 6. The most notorious. They’re sent on the most clandestine missions. They’re the ones who killed Bin Laden. There’s another story that they rescued hostages in the middle of the dessert. Told by one of the hostages. They heard gunfire. Their captures ran out to action. In the end they were approached by some men. One hostage recalled asking what is going on. One of the men said we’re here to rescue you. She asked who are you. They replied seal team 6. You’re safe now. But we have to get going. This was the hostages account of what happened. You’ll never hear of it from our military or a Seal. Bad ass mFer’s
