This serie is incredible, so happy that you take time to watch it. It's in 5 episodes and it really makes you think.

As a side note, this series is a few years old, for example, it was made before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Still, a very interesting series that will make you think and give you some new perspectives on things. The first series was called "if war comes" and this second part/series is called "when the war comes".

This sort of reminds me of Taistelukenttä 2020, the Finnish Defence Forces film about how the next war involving Finland might plausibly begin. Not really sure if it's Dwayne's cup of tea, but thought I'd throw it in here. Also, dont' forget Taistelukenttä 1998!

Hello! I'm a Swede who likes what you do with your videos 😁 I follow this topic quite a lot and this video puts the finger on many parts why Sweden wants to join NATO today. This video I think was made before Russia attacked Ukraine so it is a bit out of date as the war is closer today than it was when this video was released. But the geopolitical problems are the same as then.

I don't know how much or if Denmark was or still is losing money as far as Greenland is concerned, but the most important point still stands; Greenland has people living there. You don't "sell" a part of your country, much less an autonomous territory connected to your nation, where people live. That's like selling the people. I'm not surprised a person like Trump wouldn't consider that we don't do that anymore and shouldn't start again. We have history, also known as our cheat sheet, for a reason.

There has recently come out a video about Sweden during ww2. It's called "Why didn't the nazis invade Sweden" by Kings and Generals. It's really good and well made. I highly recommend it.

About half of Greenland’s GDP consists of Danish subsidies iirc. Personally, I think the only reasons Denmark holds on to it today is national pride, and a sense of responsibility for the welfare of the inhabitants, Inuit and Danish alike. Likely, when Greenland is able to fend for itself economically, the Danish government won’t make much of a fuss about letting them go fully independent. In practice, Danish sovreignty over Greenland is mostly on paper, except for issues like the military, foreign policy, and financial aid. Of course, this self governance technically all falls under Danish law, but it likely won’t change much day to day if they go independent. Likely, they’ll make a mutual defence pact with the US right away after idependence, and join Nato shortly after, if they qualify as ”European” under the NATO treaties (the US and Canada are only allowed in due to being founding members, hence why Mexico isn’t allowed to join despite being North American). Either way, we consider Greenland as Nordic, and I hope we’ll defend it as such. It doesn’t matter that the majority in Greenland doesn’t speak a Scandinavian language as their mother tounge. They are still our brothers by adoption and a shared history.

Sweden 10 million people with a defence that until recently has be shrinking for decades with armed forces numbering 23,000 in total Ukraine 44 million people and a defence that has been preparing and continuously strengthening since the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014 with around 200,000 active personnel before the Russian Invasion in 2022 (now around 700,000 with and additional 900,000 reserves). No amount of tech can bridge such a gap

Russian invasion of Sweden is impossible because Finland and other NATO members along the Baltic sea won't let it happen. The worst security threat in Sweden is criminal gangs, mainly muslims that have taken control of many immigrant populated areas where rescuers can't go without police escorts and often the police gets attacked also. "SEPTEMBER 28, 2023 4:55 PM CET Sweden’s former Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson wants the army sent in to quash a rising tide of gang violence in the country."

I would say that the current security issues are caused by not just the increase in gang related crimes but also the failed immigration policies over the last decade combined with the influx of drugs coming into our harbors from south america, the same issues can be seen in other countries in Europe and they all seem to have some sort of connection to the drug smuggling. When the harbors in (for example) the Netherlands tighten their security the drug smugglers have to look elsewhere for less secure locations where they can bring in their products, if we could make sure our harbors and borders are more secure then I believe the gangs would loose some of their foothold in Sweden and move on to other countries where it's easier to do their dirty work (because inevitably you're never going to be completely rid of the drug smuggling as long as there is enough of an incentive to do those sorts of crimes). The issues we are seeing currently in Sweden are not unique to it and can be seen in other countries across Europe as well. These problems look (and are) very bad for a country that's been "spoiled" with a very peaceful existence for a very long time, but comparatively to other nations our numbers are significantly lower and I believe the way that media (both the main stream as well as the social kind) has blown the situation out of proportion is scandalous at best since it only makes people living here feel less safe even though they themselves will most likely never be effected by the violence any more than if they lived in any other European country. Obviously we shouldn't pretend like it's not a big deal, but the panic that's being sown in the media and online is not only hurting our national self image and security, but also our international standing in the world. If everyone keeps shouting online about how everything is going to shit, don't be surprised when no one wants to go on vacation to or move here in the future because we're now associated with these violent crime waves if you're also taking part in claiming this country has already gone to hell in a handbasket
@RannonSi
@RannonSi 11 ай бұрын
Personally, I view the steps take to quash the gangs as a larger threat, in the long run. Because when the crime wave, and the gangs, has been dealt with, we'll be left with all the changes (I guess I could mention Ådalen shootings, and Påsk Gamla Uppsala (Easter Old Uppsala) 1943 as something in our potential future when the Police has a much looser leash and the use of the military, or what happened to Jesper Nilsson in 2010). Hopefully I'm wrong.

Calm down. Swedosh military can help the police with intelligence, gear and logistics. They can also take over guarding duties for what is now considred civilian and thereby freeing the police resources now managing that typ of security to do other things. The military will _not_ put boots on the streets crushing the gangs with military firepower. It sounds hardcore to let the miltarty help the police, but it is not so hardcore in reality...
