In the 80s, I ripped my jeans and wear them as my "punk uniform" and my parents, siblings, neighbors will tell me that I look untidy. At present day, they are the ones wearing ripped jeans bought from a department store and I think the jeans cost more with more rips. .. the irony.

There's so much misunderstanding of what Punk is. It's about being your own master and truly standing up for what you believe in. It's pretty ironic how a lot of people who consider themselves Punk (mainly by the way they dress) all dress the same.

I definitely don‘t look punkish, I wear no spikes, don‘t have a mohawk and only wear dresses. But I have an old friend who was a punk (and probably still is, he‘s just too proud to admit it), love punk music, old and new, and take great interest in the history of punk. You guys are awesome.

Very poorly done, no research what so ever, and after watching it a newcomer, or someone looking at the scene from the outside, would end up thinking that there were only 5 Punk Rock bands in British history. 1 out of 10 rating. The years 1980-2015 are missing..... thousands of groups not even hinted at. Writers need to go back to the drawing board. As bad as Time Magazine's TV "Special" from a few years ago on Punk that was very sad and horrendously written. Next, I'm going to write the CBC and give them Hell for this piece of shit story.

Punk was a glorious mess and will always be a glorious mess. If you are a punk you know it. Its with you through and through. I'm a lifer and it pulls me through the daily bullshit of policies that make little to no sense and the politicians who hoodwink the public to vote against their own intetests. Punk is the politics of standing on your own feet and say "I'm here and I matter and so do you!," in the strongest way possible. The ones who can't handle it fall by the wayside. The trendy ones either adapt or leave.

The guy who destroyed and burned all of his original punk memorabilia is the true punk rocker here. THAT is punk. Nice to look back but destroying it is how punk truly lives on.

It's ironic, punk died in '79 about the time disco fell off the charts in the states, and new wave music replaced them both.
