Homelessness has exploded, people are turning up at Emergency departments and waiting over 24 hours to be seen. Some give up and leave, and die. Don't be ridiculous, as if letting unelected people make our laws is the answer to all our problems.
@Sam88-l4k2 жыл бұрын
@@johneastwood3039 never said it was the answer to all of our problems. Your putting words into my mouth. But leaving the EU has caused a lot of problems. Immigration is higher than pre Brexit. A million people left, which means we still have those job vacancies open. It's given us a massive shortage on staff especially in the health care sector and hospitality. I should know because I've been in hospitality for 20 years, it's never been so difficult to get staff, especially chefs and kitchen porters. And loosing all those people means we lost a huge amount of tax income and national insurance income plus spending into our economy. Everyone is blaming Russia for sky high energy and food prices, yet most of Europe are not paying anywhere near the same amount in these things as us. They had a 4%-10% increase on bills earlier this year, and have since declined, where we had a 40% increase set to rise further. And we get less gas from Russia than Europe do. So please explain that one to me. We now have to pay much higher tariffs for imports on food. It makes no sense to leave a excellent trading block and paying less. To leaving it to pay more because we have to get things further away. The fact our Conservative government sold everything off in the past, like our gas, British based food products, car business, water, etc. Means that because we don't own hardly anything anymore brexit cannot work. If we still owned everything it would work, because we can sell over seas. But unfortunately we don't own enough to sell anymore. Most people voted for brexit because of there misguided view about what they were sold on by our right wing press was Immigration. Yet most migrants work and work harder. I bet based on capita, there's more British people living off the state than migrants. And excellent prove of that is because they are willing to do the jobs we won't do, because we think we are do good for it. Hence why we haven't filled those jobs that EU left open.
@johneastwood30392 жыл бұрын
@@Sam88-l4k We should never have joined the EU in the first place, we were lied to, told it was only a trade deal. Migration is Tory policy. 2/3rds of all migration before Brexit was non-EU and entirely voluntary. And EU migration was not "uncontrolled" except that the UK government decided not to employ the measures allowed by the EU to control it. The UK government also decided not to have the 7 year A8 transition period. No one else apart from Ireland and Sweden did the same. It's the same old story with people who bang on about immigration, it's been a blame game and you are looking in the wrong place. It's very obvious why the government do this BTW, it's because economic growth in the last decade or so has only been in line with population growth. This is a failure of government as th4y haven't improved productivity one iota and without migration we would be in permanent recession. Hence last year we had record migration.
@Sam88-l4k2 жыл бұрын
@@peterbroad1772 exactly, so to fulfill the idea of brexit that people wanted would be catastrophic. As all those people who in the main worked, contributed to our economy via work (paying taxes and NI), plus spending into the local economy. That why when a million EU workers left after we left the EU, our economy has suffered further. Not to mention the fact we can't fill those jobs, which are mainly in the health and hospitality sectors. I've worked in hospitality my working life, so 20 years, and I've never known it so difficult to employ staff, especially chefs and kitchen porters. Only 4 years ago you would have a full folder of CV's. Not the case anymore. Yet people still blame the wrong parties for the state that we find ourselves in. 12 years of Conservative government have led to this, and the previous Conservative government under Thatcher has also highlighted current problems. The selling of our energy and water companies under Thatcher rule. Everyone is blaming the way sky high energy bills on the war, completely ignoring the fact that most EU countries only had 4%-10% rises. Even though they still think its a European wide problem. No its not!. Also our food prices increased more than anywhere else. Because of higher tariffs we now pay. Overall UK citizens are paying more out of there wages than most other countries and work a lot more hours than most European countries just to sustain above water. Even middle earners are struggling now. Which when that happens, you know we have a huge problem.
