The Black Prince in War Thunder is a Premium British Heavy Tank at Battle Rating 6.0 that's ACTUALLY good! This upgunned and uparmoured Churchill is the final form of the chassis which gives it over 150mm of armour at the front and 90mm on the sides!
The 17 pounder cannon was added an along with it came the APDS round giving it just under 270mm of penetration at point blank. This means you can damage Panthers through the front plate and pretty much any other heavy tank is at your mercy!
The Black Prince is just... really REALLY slow! :)

Something is indeed seriously wrong with APDS. Look up the protection analysis of the Kugelblitz with for example the FV4202's Shot mk.3. The APDS just disappears and the shrapnel does barely anything.

Having used the black prince to grind out a large portion of certain ranks and with it aced I can say now that it will not fair well at long ranges. It doesn't have enough zoom and you need a custom sight. Honestly I really would recommend using it in medium to short ranges and being aggressive with it. Push the enemy team and the caps. Be careful about your flanks. Planes for the most part are just an annoyance. Your upper front plate and turret mantlet are the weak points so don't be afraid to angle the hull. It is a Churchill hull after all

Great video, my grand father worked at Vauxhall's for over 40 years, during the war he was exempt from serving in the armed forces because he was helping to build Churchill tanks. Not sure if he worked on the Black Prince prototypes. The time I got to touch a Churchill tank (Shuttleworth collection I think) was emotional because he could've touched that actual tank also.

Black Prince has great side armour. Angled the BP has 200mm+ front and side armour. Plaus the side has multiple layers of armour filled with tracks etc

The problem is that theres actually small gaps in the armour model so when aphe shell can pen deep enough into the tracks the explosive filler can damage through the incorrect gaps in the armour

Bought this and the premium firefly when they were first two added ahead of any other British tanks. The had unlimited backups at the time on account of there being no other vehicles so I could keep coming back. Was so much fun.

If it’s a pretty even game, Churchill at late game is a lifesaver I still remember not long ago I decaped and capped the point getting pounded by rounds,artillery and bombs all by myself lol

When I was playing WoT a long time ago, Black Prince was my favorite tank. In fact, this is what a Churchill should look like that can stand up to other heavy tanks. It's a shame that it's so high in BR here, because it would be perfect for my 5.3 set - I have 3.7 RAM and AC IV, and the Church VII has a terrible cannon and can't handle Tigers and Panthers. Sometimes I even take Alecto to the squad, with which I have already shot a few Tigers ;)
