Very glad for Daz. The car culture in the early 00's was bonkers, and although it looked really "chavy", The 2 litre hot hatches were all the rave, and you can easily tell he was attached to it big time. Took a lot to do that, so huge respect. Seems like many of the other drivers had the same issue as a bunch did from the previous series, toxic or just controlling passengers.

Rita's husband. Came over as a nasty control freak. She's your wife! Not your 3 year old kid! Even then, that would be a poor way to talk to and treat a child. The brake test made a very good point about Daz. The programme makers made it abundantly clear that Daz's confidence in his driving skills are considerably above his actual skill level. That brake test was easy to pass for any competent driver.
@halfbakedproductions78873 ай бұрын
Brian passed his test in 1965 - an era where cars were just steel boxes fitted with an engine and had zero safety features whatsoever. In 1965 it wasn't even mandatory for cars to include factory-installed seatbelts.

I totally agreed with Quentin's assessment that sooner or later that Nova would have killed Daz. Barrelling around B-roads at the speeds he was going at it would just have been a matter of time before he had crashed into another car or a road side tree. Kind of curious to see now who will get the Jaguar. I never imagined Daz getting it for obvious reasons but I never thought he'd be let go so quickly. I pictured his redeeming arc would take longer and he'd be one of the last three remaining (though clearly skill wise he's by far the best driver and he never would have been designated BWD).

Here's a sobering thought - Dangerous Daz will be 43/44 now, and his kid (5 at the time) will have been old enough to pass their test since 2015. 😱 F*ck I'm OLD!!! 😂 Seriously though, I wonder what he's upto these days (still around I hope?) and how he looks back on his misspent youth now... ? He definitely made the smart choice. It's hard but, we've all got to grow up and become sensible at some point. That Nova was an accident waiting to happen.

Daz made the right decision taking the money and giving up his car. Considering he had a kid when he was 17 and was in his early 20s during filming, it was time for him to grow up. He should have signed up for NASCAR or Formula 1 if he could even develop the needed skills.

there is no chance in hell Carole would've been able to avoid the stop sign. I said it before. The creators of the show are not consistent with their timing whatsoever and were heavily manipulating and influencing the results. Nikki's emergency brakings did look weirdly soft and slow, almost like a controlled stop, while the others were much closer, involved wheel lock up or simply were timed so atrociously they had no chance.

@@trainman86trainstramsandmore A 200 hp 2 litre? Must be nice. Here in Canada and in the USA it's only been in recent decades that even a 3-litre is even that powerful and we drive full size half ton trucks, minivans, and mid-size SUVs and most cars are the same size as the Volvo from Episode 3 or a little bigger. We'd classify that as a mid-sized car. Granted the big boats as we called those big cars that were 6 meters (20 feet) long were common in the 1980s and earlier with the big 5-litre or bigger and half-ton trucks with 6-litre gas-guzzling engines rare nowadays but still, it would sure be nice if 2 litre straight 4 engines with 200 hp or more were common over here. Even in small cars and small trucks. The reason they won't though is because it doesn't sound like a V8. Everybody has to be so cool and get attention. Took our governments long enough to finally tell Harley-Davidson that those motorcycles of theirs that make more noise than World War 2 are now illegal to manufacture. They now have to be quieter even if people take the mufflers off. I've seen them in groups before and no mufflers. The noise is deafening.
