I think its because, in their culture, men are basically allowed to be children no matter their age. They are catered to and only are expected to work outside the home to bring in the money. Women, from a very young age, are expected to do everything except get an education and hold a job. It's no wonder that the women are more mature. Crazily enough, most of these women seem to think that these rules are for THEIR benefit, which blows my mind.

I think that might be a cultural difference, rather than anything to worry about. I'm a Traveller and I'm married to a non-Traveller, which has really opened my eyes to how the communities view thing differently. He will have told her repeatedly that she's perfect for him, but it's considered being "full of yourself" to say that as a Traveller. You say you hope that's the case because you want to be humble and don't want to jinx it, but if you weren't sure, you wouldn't be getting married. In English culture, saying that he's told you you're perfect for him is a sign of confidence, so it's viewed very differently. The difference is probably both cultural and religious. Catholicism demands humility. It's not a gender subjugation thing, though, because if they'd asked Brendan the same question he would have said words to the same effect (that she was perfect for him, and he hoped he could live up to her expectations). I know in English culture that it's easy to think her words mean that she thinks she's not good enough, but I promise that's not the case 💕

Women between 15 and 30 to not mentally mature much, if at all, they. just. grow. older. Yes, women do have a _base_ maturity that kicks in around 14 (has to be that way since they can be made pregnant) but beyond that they are pretty much stagnant and will not mentally mature much until they hit around 33ish. Men however, do NOT have the base maturity women have, but men DO mentally mature between 15 and 30, having reached full mental maturity around 30 (which is why, if we go really far back, a man was NOT allowed to vote until he had hit the age of 30). A 15 year old female has the same maturity of a 25 year old male. Recoiling at the age difference Micheala is making a mistake, because it *presumes* that men and women are equal and just the same (which also presumes they mature at the same age and pace) alas they are not, not even close. Que the outbursts and the name calling.

@williamchilds216 Жыл бұрын
Not everyone doesnt know what love is at that age but I agree, a lot of people don't. Hormones tend to overwhelm most 'sane' thoughts. My parents married at 17 (mum) and 18 (dad). They're almost 60 now and they're sticking together good. Some kids know how to think with their brains rather than emotions, some can't. Which is why 18+ is the age for marriage (without parent consent). It's getting easier now for kids to know what love is and know who they want to be with and marry because everything is becoming impossible to afford and so it's harder to marry. Also, this generation (those who haven't been brainwashed in their religious views such as this couple) tends to be better with thinking things through because we aren't looking into marriage to have kids and live together and just live. We know that we are able to live together and wait years and years to marry without being ostracised and hated for what we want to do. There's so much mroe freedom now than what there was because religion doesn't overwhelm everything and we're having to learn that we are almost never going to own a house and we're almost never going to be able to afford a family because it's just too expensive.

No way in hell, I would have been okay with getting married at 15; I was too busy thinking about what university I was going to and what career path I wanted to pursue. It's the business owners. Travelers have been known, are known, for having huge fights when the men get drunk, and just in their everyday living, they trash the hotel rooms, the restaurants, bars and pubs, and whatever wedding venue they manage to get. No business wants to have to spend thousands of dollars in repairs, but many have gotten stuck with that in their past, so they refuse to serve travelers. That's according to several others of these particular videos on YT.
