Not even Microsoft cares. The exploit used to activate Windows for free is hosted on GitHub, which Microsoft owns. AFAIK there's an ex-Microsoft employee who said on Twitter that MS wants as many people as possible using Windows because you are the product. Even if people pirate Windows, most of them will pirate the Home/Pro editions that are full of spyware, so MS still gets to make money off of them by selling their data.

I'm using it right now. I highly recommend. Most of the stuff he said "you'll have issues with" i haven't and i haven't seen anyone else either. Big difference between someone who used it in a VM for a few minutes for a KZbin video and someone who's had it on their main system along with knowing family and friends that use it. 1. You can buy legal keys for W10 Ent IoT 2021 and W10 Ent IoT 2022. So, OK there - no piracy. 2. These activate fine, BUT the licence SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITS use on a desktop.. So if you do this don't contact Microsoft for support! 3. Both versions can be extended to (almost) every feature that W10 Pro of the same version has, including Microsoft Store. 4. Despite statements to the contrary, W10 Pro can be updated to W10 Ent IoT keeping all apps and settings - just requires changing two registry entries immediately before running Setup. I have successfully done all these things (for the IoT devices on my homenet of course)

Activating IoT on home desktop pc is illegal. If you're trying to adhere to license terms, you can't officially use IoT as a desktop PC. So all of the above is pointless, because legally, you can't use as home desktop computer.

I understand the concerns, and it's why many are turning to LTSC (IoT). Microsoft’s push for newer hardware essentially forces users to upgrade, but not everyone can afford it. As a system administrator, I often see older users with limited pensions struggle to keep up, as they simply cannot afford even budget hardware in the even (I MEAN LITERAL EVEN!!!) €300-500 range. Many are left with no choice but to install Windows 11 on older devices by bypassing TPM requirements, 4GB RAM and more, resulting in significant performance issues. While Linux could be an alternative, it’s often not practical for those who lack the time or ability to learn it. From a security standpoint, I understand the need for modern hardware, but it’s still a harsh reality for those on tight budgets. Some with resources can set up servers and use RDP from older devices, but this is far from a universal solution. It’s a difficult situation, and unfortunately, many users feel forced into these compromises. Enough said. I have written my opinion. Peace 😉

The author is not proficient in IT, doesn't understand the topic, doesn't understand about Microsoft Windows Editions and Licenses. 1) Windows 10 LTSC IoT is not the same as Windows 10 LTSC. There are separate editions of LTSC (even more than 2, LTSC Enterprise, LTSC IoT, LTSC NP, etc). 2) You can obtain Windows 10 LTSC legally as a private individual person, not any kind of company. But this author doesn't understand this and doesn't tell in the video how its possible to do by getting a legal license - also why this video is useless.

Sure, Windows 10 IoT LTSC is indeed in different "level" than normal Windows and you cannot obtain it easily via legal method as you said. But hey, at least it exists and we can "still use it" albeit in "slightly illegal method" if that means many old laptops can be still used. And I know IoT version works quite normal as standard Windows because I have been using it daily from July 2024 on the laptop Lenovo Legion 5i Pro Gen 6 ☺

Legal implications may apply if someone decides to bring such license on legal entity balance or sell his computer to someone, if that person raises complaint about software legal status, etc. I am looking for a legal way to obtain Windows 10 LTSC or Windows 10 LTSC IoT with guaranteed authenticity so know this license question is sorted out well should I do whatever I decide with it later.

I am currently running Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC on an older computer and it runs nicely for light home office work. No problems with common desktop software, but not used for gaming. The hashes of the installer iso are confirmed from official sources, so there is no danger of viruses. Activation is easy and safe as well with an open source activator. It’s a pity that it is so hard to get it licensed officially. Outside of BSA controlled western countries, this will probably be a good option for keeping older computers running efficiently.

I use IoT LTSC for longevity and the lack of bloatware. It's the only version of Windows that's how Windows should be IMO. I bought LTSC in 2019 from one of those cd key sales sites, but LTSC keys don't transfer between versions. So when 21H2 IoT LTSC came out I tried to buy it like I bought it in 2019, but it wasn't available. With all the shite that MS are sticking in Home or Pro I refuse to use them. I tried buying 21H2 IoT LTSC but it wasn't available. But just like how you can use Windows Home or Pro for free with a watermark and a few cosmetic restrictions in place, it's the same with IoT LTSC, and I'd sooner have that than Home or Pro all day long.

As a network engineering administrator, I can tell you right now. If Microsoft wanted to give security updates for Windows 10 till 2035. They can do it they don't have to charge $30. They would make a small fortune if they charged a dollar. Underlying code and windows 10 and windows 11 virtually the same. Look at the code structure. The only difference is Microsoft wants to pull data. And yes, in the UK there may be rules against it but other parts of the world companies can get away with that crap. Their goal is for there to be zero devices in the world running Windows 10 come Nov 1 2025. * For devices that _did_ get "upgraded", or were already running Win11, Local Accounts will be fundamentally removed on that date. You log in with a Microsoft Account, or the device doesn't boot. Your userdata from the Local Account will also be deleted, as punishment. * Win11 devices determined to be "illegitimately installed" (via Rufus or otherwise) will brick, full stop.

I'm not advocating piracy, but you can use a script to activate LTSC IoT with a digital license. If your worried about the script being infected. Just install a clean version again and it will activate automatically once you connect to the internet as the hardware will be logged on the server. It has to be the IoT version though..

Another good example is Easy-Anti-Cheat it won't work on some older versions of windows 10 so if you plan on "extending" your win10 for gaming by using LTSC, yall might get "stuck" on an old W10 which won't be able to update things like latest EAC disallowing you to run newer games.

After Windows 10 ends its life cycle in October 2025, companies such as Chrome, Nvidia, etc. will stop providing support for Windows 10, all categories of Windows 10, because Windows 10 Pro or Home Microsoft abandoned it. these versions of windows LTSC are already old, they only receive security updates and not far from improvement. I tried new versions from Nvidia on Windows 10 LTSC 2019 and the latest update from Nvidia for Quadro doesn't work it asks me for a new version from Windows 10 .. Once Microsoft will abandon windows 10 in October this year, many companies will stop developing programs for windows 10. I have windows 10 LTSC 2019 and I cannot update the latest driver version to my Nvidia Quadro k4200 video card because I have an old version of windows 10. Windows 10 Enterprise 2021 lot / LTS are old .. From 2021. Windows 10 Pro or Home these versions are much improved. Windows 11 no longer supports dual core processors. Try linux or a new PC that supports Windows 11. And I repeat once more.. These versions of windows are not intended for home users.

GPU drivers not updating to the latest version has naught to do with the age of the OS but with the fact that game developers base their games on numberings of regular OS editions. Enterprise editions have different numberings that don't/can't get the same updates as the Home/Pro editions and as such cannot get the right GPU driver updates. Most newer games can either no longer be installed (you get a "this OS doesn't support the game") or when installed the launcher crashes when trying to open the game.

I use it. I think that it is aimed at all Windows 10 users because it's the best version. If before 2032 key software providers remove support for Windows 10, then I move to Windows 11 iot LTSC before 2032.

Since support for each Windows version usually lasts about ten years after release, this Windows 10 version will end right around the same time that support should end for Windows 11 as well. So for current Windows 11 users, it's probably better to just stick with what you got for better compatibility with updates to drivers and whatnot.

Well with Microsoft gathering all of my information and selling it should be illegal. So I call it even. The game is rigged. So in that sense, screw'em. Microsoft knows this. That's why they don't go after people too much. For example: I've used Dstribution licensed copies of Windows that were supposed to be only for RTM PC's for my custom builds. I initially got one from a trade show in 2002 on that year's build. It was definitely cheaper than going to a retail store like Best Buy and buying their Full Copy. I'm learning Linux now too. So I could go either way here. Another option for me is to dual-boot. Do a strip down version of 10 just for gaming and Linux beside it for online access.

to avoid the malware, if you have enough disk space, you could aquire it from a couple different sources, and install in a VM, then mount the images and check for differences (plenty of duplicate file finders around, could just delete all duplicates, see what's left over), and see what's different, because in theory, they should be identical except perhaps for different machine ID and boot ID and such, so just check for differing .exe and .dll and .sys and such...registry changes are possible too but for the registry change to run malware, there has to be a malicious executable on the system already also curious you didn't cover the 2027 date which is mentioned as end of the "mainstream support" on the page you showed

I have gone that way 5 month ago. I bought my download and key on a site to buy software just like cdkeysales. So no KMS activation on my system. My system is closed down as much as I know to connect to Microsoft. Tools to pervent it and a modified host file is what I have done. I hope I can run this system as long as the desktop is working. It can't run Windows 11 the normal way. If things go wrong in some time, it will go the Linux way. No new computer here before it fails not to be able to repair it.

Linux is not an option for me especially if AverMedia doesn't work outside of Widnows 😢 heck my old C027 doesn't work with Secure Boot, TPM or Resizable Bar enabled and it doesn't get any driver support passed Windows 10 and yes even dat card doesn't really work on Linux or MAC 😢

IF you have NOT already covered it I would love to see some linux options. I have NEVER used normal linux. Android is my only linux experience. I hear it is at times brutal to get the hang of if you are not used to command line and prompts. Since my entire Knowledge base is what the internet says An approach Obviously geared to those who KNOW NOTHING is the way to go. A version with a windows like UI would be best for some one who has NO experience with the OS. I have used windows for over 20 years but officially upgrading to 11 or newer is NOT an option for me. So I have to consider alternatives.

I put a huge Dislike on this video. This is a bullshit and absolutely useless video. The author is not proficient in IT, doesn't understand the topic, doesn't understand about Microsoft Windows Editions and Licenses. 1) Windows 10 LTSC IoT is not the same as Windows 10 LTSC. There are separate editions of LTSC (even more than 2, LTSC Enterprise, LTSC IoT, LTSC NP, etc). 2) You can obtain Windows 10 LTSC legally as a private individual person, not any kind of company. But this author doesn't understand this and doesn't tell in the video how its possible to do by getting a legal license - also why this video is useless.

I don't know why you bring multiple videos for LTSC versions even when it's not for home users. LTSC isn't for everyone and you can't get proper support from MSFT forums since it is covered by separate IT team.

In the video he said that "technically" it's not designed for home use, but "practically" it'll work just fine. Some people never learn critical thinking in school.
