***** I think at 18:14 it was the Blue Mountains Peak.
@2pb10 жыл бұрын
Hi Chev - thanks your input - The Blue Mountains refers to a mountain range, however each mountain has a specific name. I've just looked at a map on Google and the mountain could either be in the St. Thomas or Portland parishes. Highest mountain in St. Thomas is Gossomer Peak at 1012m . Highest in Portland is High Peak at 1800m. I'm leaning toward High Peak as it would dwarf all the other mountains towards the South East end of the island.

Ohhhh, I need to go do some research as well or maybe I judged it wrong,

Chev Hi Chev - Looks like you were right after all - as confirmed by Zedenexx. Just looked at a map of Jamaica and it definitely appears to be Blue Mountains Peak. Game set & match to you! :)

Hello BArBAdos Fan. At about 21:32 an announcement is made about "spraying the cabin in accordance with international health regulations" or something like that. Could you explain what that was all about, please. In the meantime I'm going to use google earth to try to find the highest mountains in the area. Thanks for an excellent video.
@2pb10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. About the spraying - I've seen this on all my flights to Jamaica and Barbados. Seems to be a World Health Organization requirement for certain destinations. See the following links - you will have to scroll down in each case. www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/onboard/healthtips.html www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/special-assistance/medical-conditions The spray appears to be a pesticide.

hi what camcorder did u use and do you need to ask the airline before the flight or a stewardess when on the plane if its ok to film ? i ask as id like to do the same thanks
@2pb9 жыл бұрын
Hi - On this occasion I used a Panansoic HS300 semi-pro camcorder. This particular camcorder is quite old technology these days and I'm thinking of retiring it. In answer to your question - British Airways changed their rules a while ago and do now allow the use of some portable electronic devices including cameras during takeoff and landing. This rule change does not apply to all Airlines so always ask if in doubt.

***** thanks for reply and info : ) ok yes im flying ba in may so did you just ask a stewardess when on your flight or did u ask in advance ? hope u dont mind me asking id love to do something similar cheers
@2pb9 жыл бұрын
Dc S If you're on a BA flight you don't need to ask - just go ahead and film away. However you should always pay attention to the safety video. During all my filming I always keep my attention on the video screen and flight attendants during the demo.

Is there a pilot here? Would you please tell me what that droning sound is after take off? I hear it on most flights, and it usually goes away after the first ten minutes or so of the flight.
@Cl4rendon10 жыл бұрын
It`s called "Buzzsaw" due to the take off power. It later gets reduced plus the engines working in thinner air, as the altitude increases. That lets the "buzz" hush down. In addition, when the aircraft approaches cruising speed, the sound of air stream gets louder over tuning the engine noise.
@superfluouschins257810 жыл бұрын
Cl4rendon Ohhh, ok. Thanks!
@oneilclarke84949 жыл бұрын
Superfluous Chins To add to what Cl4rendon mentioned. When the pilot retracts the flaps in increments, less drag is produced and the speed of the plane increases. Now FAA regulations state that passenger jets must not fly above 250 knots below 10000 ft, so the pilot now has to reduce thrust. Hence, the "Buzzsaw" sound fades.
