It’s not well know, but ALOT of senior instructors from SWAT etc teams come to train with what is now SCO19 at there facility on the east coast. Ask them about their reclassification shooting.....having to shoot at 7 yards and still missing.....

The average US Cop has wayyy more experience than CTSFO/SFO, America has shootings daily and all our Cops carry firearms. Our SWAT teams have even more experience, some SWAT Officers are Ex SOF guys. American SWAT Teams even deploy globally ie( FBI HRT) and take part in raids with our Special Operations Forces. FBI HRT/FBI SWAT have operated in Afghanistan and Libya and has helped train some European Police SOF units. The FBI HRT is America's Tier 1 SWAT unit. HRT trains in the arctic, desert, jungle, mountain, and urban environments on land and also trains for Maritime Counter Terroism (MCT) operations and has a combat diver capability. HRT is also able to parachute into objectives if necessary. CTSFO dosen't have some of those capabilities like HRT does. HRT also has a huge buget, there night vision goggles alone is 60,000 USD. I fail to see how CTSFO makes US SWAT look like kids. @@toxicdoc9547 Your probation as a police officer is 2 years. You have to do two years as a 'regular' officer before you can specialise in any field e.g. CID; Traffic; AFO. Once you become an AFO you then have to go through further training to become an SFO and CTSFO.

Mainly because we want experienced officers trained in normal policing so we dont have them pull guns on shoplifters. If the firearms officers arent experienced why would we trust them to go to non hostile situations.

@@nrjelley realistically whilst it’s possible to do it after 2 years you likely will need to do another trade and be outstanding at it for at least one year. Unless you have prior military as I understand it- the met police will do literal transfers from armed forces but don’t quote me on that ✌️
