@@noone-dq9wd you apply as a standard patrol Cunstable fir 2 years you then can apply fir specialist rolls one of them is firearms officer you most likely won’t be accepted unless you have 5 or more years in the force then you go through a couple months of training to become a sfo then you can addVance to afo then finally you can advance do ctsfo

@@C2478_ kid, the CTSFO are a basic armed police tactical unit, they go through the same levels of training as armed units, we've already got specialist armed units which are certainly more specialised & experienced then these ever will be... No they are not compared to the HRT units. the CTSFO are in response to the increased organised drug & gang crime... the armed police units (not the basic armed police in X3's & so-on) are already trained in hostage rescue, they have been for many years & pretty much every county within the uk has its own specialist units if such case turns up.
