Shehnaz, cool video however you should consider editing the voice over as some of the facts are wrong in your narration -> 1) Our school founder was a French Armyman by the name Major General Claude Martin, who was from Lyon, France and we are not referred to as "Saint Martinians" but are called "La Martinians". 2) Also our school was not British or its Warrior Training school. It so happened that students from our school fought for the British during the mutiny of 1857 in Lucknow. 3) Lastly, Our school has a very rich legacy and heritage of students who went on to serve the Armed Forces, both in pre and post Independent India, as primarily this was a boarding school established by a Military man, and the whole culture in our school, atleast in the past decades, was one of high discipline, good manners and all round development. And That was really the main USP of the school for the longest time, i.e. its military style discipline which made gentlemen out of boys. Facts aside, your video was nice to watch. All the best.

Its the La Martiniere College Lucknow. I studied there as a child for many years although im a student of La Martiniere School Kolkata. Slight fact check, it isnt British, it was built by a French General from the French East Indian Company named Claude Martin, whose grave you visited downstairs. I have many fond , yet crazy memories from there. Earlier you could even walk to the Lat which is the pillar bang opposite the Constantia building which is the iconic building your video begins from. Having said that, the La Martiniere School of for Boys in Kolkata is actually the oldest school of the three that was built by Claude Martin. It was started in 1800. There are secret passages from the back of the school library to the interiors of Fort William, the adjoining military head quarters of East India. The La Martiniere for Girls was started more than a century later.

Although it could have been named after Saint Martiniere or Saint Martin. And they have both Boys and Girls school under the same name in Lucknow and possibly also Kolkata. There is also La Martiniere Boys and La Martiniere Girls in France as well, set up by the same gentleman.

Hey Shehnaz! You got your facts wrong. St. Martin was a very pious and Holy Catholic Saint, a monk and he established one of the oldest monasteries in Western Europe. Highly revered not only in the Catholic Church but also Eastern Orthodox churches. This school is not named after St. Martin but Major General Claude Martin, HEICS. He was a French subject living in Lucknow as an important personage of the European gentry in this part of the country.

There is a female version of La Mart also which is not as big as original one .Fun Fact as a regret he made this CHARITABLE school for poor ,but the truth is with this low fees it flooded with powerful and Elite class parents who use there influence to take Admissions.Actually this school still get main funding from France and also the biggest all the la Martin located in Kolkata and France also.
