@petemcfeet28 Жыл бұрын
It just goes to show the thin skin of celebrity and half assed celebrity in our times. Bill can tear people apart but probably only about half as well as Don Rickles could in his career. No one whined about Rickles affecting their mental health. They felt honoured that a master would take time out of their day to get to know them well enough to have the material to tear a hole into who they were. Don Rickles took 5 minutes out of his day to find out what ripped you to the core? What an honour! Bill Burr I think takes less time with a complete stranger (maybe not) but it's the same thing. That's why he turned the Philly crowd. Bill cared enough to know what made that crowd a gigantic asshat. Have a thick skin or don't invite Bill onto your show. Or have good lawyers so when you punch him in the mouth you have some kind of just cause. Cheers!

I think your gender does play a part in your comedy because it affects your life and the experiences you’ve had.
@YerpDerp17 Жыл бұрын
It really just depends on the comedy. In a lot of aspects of life we all have fairly similar experiences, no matter gender. So it depends on what the comedy is about. A fair amount of comedy is universal.

The problem with Bill is he calls out others for the same thing he does more than them. Example Bill is constantly bitching about everything/anything thats the slightest inconvenience to him but will publicly bash anyone that has a problem in their life. He's also super sensitive, he has no problem making fun of everyone but when someone makes a joke at his expense he gets super defensive and angry, and he will retaliate by making personal attacks about a person, which the public shouldn't be privy to that person's private/personal business.

As someone who suffers from diagnosed clinical depression and other mental health issues. Actually diagnosed. I can attest that compliments confuse me. Someone telling me that they care about me or whatever makes me uncomfortable. It has always confused me. For me its like, why. Look at me. Who in the hell would like me. So,, anyway that is why Bill Burr is my favorite. He says it just like it is. Its other people's problem if they get get butt hurt by it right. Burr literally has a bit about how you couldn’t be sensitive as a guy growing up in his community, lest one of your guy friends might yell out, “What are you, a F**?!?”. He also pointed out what a terrible mindset that was to have. Lol at Rogan wants to push political ideology and Bill’s like, ‘No Man, you don’t want to start this’ (I will destroy your worldview in a handful of jokes) 😂

Most comedians use their sets for a very long time and then every couple of sets they might test a new one out and if it works they replace old ones they grow tired of, that keeps going in hopes they will have a very strong foundation for a special.

I'll never understand why Kill Tony is popular. Burr is so right, the format is dumb. You can't possibly be funny if you're only given 60 seconds to talk unless you're just doing endless 1 liners that take 10 seconds to tell. Even an opener for a headlining act gets 5 mins.
