If you ever make your own pizza at home try sun-dried tomatoes on it. Such a wonderful punch of flavor. Also sliced cloves of garlic which roast on top of the pizza and taste amazing.

Cost for pizzas vary. Depends on the type of restaurant and region. The $1 pizza in New York is not the same as the traditional pizza restaurants in New York. Pizza in NYC can vary from $12 to $30 for a whole pie. The size of pizzas can range from the personal size to medium, large and extra large. Grapes , olive oil, and rosemary (sometimes onion, Portobello mushrooms and tiny tomatoes)are ingredients on focaccia but is delicious. I make this at home. I have had reindeer. The sausage is good.

My parents are from New Haven, Connecticut, and I've been going to Pepe's since I was a baby, long before it became a chain. New Haven pizza is, generally, defined by old pizzerias that still use coal ovens that get to 900F. The dry heat gives the crust and ingredients a char you don't get anywhere else. No new coal ovens may be built, for the environment, but the old places were grandfathered in.

All the pizza types of pizza you saw in this video can be all found in New York city and other than u.s. regional pizzas like Chicago deep dish, Detroit style and Connecticut style New York city makes the best version of every type of slice that could be found in the US including the New York slice, Grandma slice, Sicilian and the wood oven smaller pizzas etc...

From CT, even if you don't like the clam pizza the plain cheese pizza they have at Pepe's is consistently ranked as some of the best in the country. Same with the Sally's, which is another place just down the street and was opened only a few years after Pepe's.

I'm from Greenwich so it's a bit of a trip to Pepe's but if I'm ever in the area it's a must, and I've never had anything there I didn't like, the white clam is definitely my favorite though. Luckily in Greenwich we have Glenville pizza which is one of the best in CT also, and I've been eating there since before I had teeth. 🤘🤘

Chicago deep dish pizza has sauce on top because it's so thick the cheese would burn if it was on top.

For the Chicago Deep Dish. They put the sauce on top to prevent the cheese from burning. Due to the pizza’s thickness, it can take about an hour to bake. Chicago also does a tavern style pizza. Which is much thinner and more commonly ordered.

I’d imagine tavern style is ordered more because if you get a deep dish, you’re committing to spending the rest of the night in a food coma. Tavern style is common all over the world as well

Had deep dish in Chicago when I visited many many years ago. When I finally moved there, and lived for many years, never had deep dish again.. tavern style was the best !

If you visit CA you have to try Round Table Pizza. I do light sauce bc I get heartburn. As a kid I would ride my bike 2 miles or so and fold pizza boxes for a free personal. It's so good

The best pizza named for my state definitely would not have been even in the top10 but there it sits at #1...I personally do not think the UK truly understands how big the USA is. It would take about 15 hrs for me to get to Chicago. I'd have to be really hungry for that drive.

The Pepe's white clam here in CT is really good. There's not a lot of places that do white pies too good, but CT, NY, and NJ usually do them right. It's all about the right cheese blend. And if you want a little sauce on it just dip it in some marinara. Anything goes with pizza, Except Pineapples 🤨

I'm originally from MA, and that's where the headquarters for Pizzeria Uno's is located, but it started in 1947 in Chicago, IL, & was the inventors of deep dish pizza. Chicago deep dish has a pie like crust, and is so delicious. Also, in southeastern MA, there's a huge Portuguese population, and Linguica on pizza is 100x better than pepperoni. Plus, Hawaiian pizza is amazing !

With deep dish pizza, I believe that the cheese has to be under the sauce because the pizza takes longer to cook. If the cheese was on top, it would end up burnt.

If you want to find good pizza places, look for the hole-in-the-wall small towns. Best pizza I've had was in Basin, Montana while visiting my mom's family as a teen. Small towna usually means they give ya more bang for your buck, because they have no real need to skimp on anything. Pretty much every inch had a pepperoni slice with sausage between them and the size alone is what made it God tier. Their large pizza was maybe 2-3x what most pizza places consider large. A single large pizza was enough to fill 10 of us and still have left overs in the box. They had ordered THREE of their largest monsters and gave us one to bring back with us. But, If they still exist (don't know) I'd expect they changed like everywhere else. RIP

Pennsylvania’s pizza with just sauce and parmesan cheese is not representative of Pennsylvania. Though it’s most representative of authentic pizza from Italy, it most likely isn’t a favorite amongst the majority of Pennsylvanians. We love our stringy cheese. I will say that the pizza from Old Forge is my personal favorite when it comes to square cut pizza. Love the crispy fried buttery bottoms on those slices. I believe that Old Forge mostly makes Sicilian style pizza.

There's just so many pizza places here to choose from, that's the thing. And it depends on your local area, every local area has a designated pizza place that is 'best'. Back in the day there was one local pizzeria in NY state where I'm from that had good pizza (they closed eventually sadly), but you know what? Pizza Hut rivaled that, and might have even tasted better. At the time, a fresh, pan cheese & pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut served in-restaurant blew everything else out of the water for me. Better than lots of obscure, gourmet pizzas that have weird toppings and are made in rustic ovens (yuck), that's for sure. Tragic how Pizza Hut's quality has nosedived over the years and in-restaurant eating isn't even something they offer anymore at most Pizza Huts if not all. I don't mind Pizza Hut now, but I feel like they've become more like what other people always labeled them as "not real pizza" etc. when their pizza used to be easily A tier. They got rid of the Quepapas too, which were cheesy, potato, jalapeno bites dipped in ranch that were a little bit addicting. Sad.

The BEST way to enjoy Anchovies on a Pizza is NOT to bake them on the Pizza, but rather lay an anchovy or two on each pizza slice just before you eat it. The flavor is Better than the flavor if you had baked the Pizza with the Anchovies on it.,.... which makes the taste saltier and fishier!

When making a deep dish pizza, it's crucial to have cheese at the bottom. Otherwise, the sauce can saturate and weaken the crust. Yes, cheese is an edible sealant. Regarding the coriander/cilantro confusion... We call the ground seeds of the herb coriander, and the herb's leafy sprigs cilantro. And the two flavors couldn't be more different.
