My great grandfather Ernest Edward Brightman was a captain in the Royal Navy during both WW1 and WW2. He was a great and moral man and is a great source of pride in my family. This song is a fitting tribute for everything he stood for. I love it. RIP. I salute him and the bravery of the Royal Navy. 🇬🇧🇿🇼🙏🙏👏👏

My brother served on HMS Eurylus, think that's how it was spelt. I was only young, and my sister and I used to cry our eyes out every time he went off to sea, usually for eighteen months. We were proud of him though.

They very often use the old-fashioned spelling 'Grenadiers' instead of 'Grenadines'. Personally, I would prefer dealing with grenadines, any day. I was glad to see that most of the Royal Marines were Indian.

My Family has it’s reputation of Military Service since the Napoleonic Wars. My Great Great Grandfather was a Captain within the Voltigeurs de Montreal. My Great Grandfather was a Zulu Wars Veteran. My Grandfather was a Major General during the First and Second World War and became the First ever Premier of British Columbia. You might know him as George Pearkes.
