The ice at hotels/motels has always been free. You should have ventured into the ice rooms. The buckets you found in your room was so you could go to the ice machine and freely filled the bucket with ice. If there were vending machines in the ice room , the vending machines were not free as they usually have soft drinks and snacks. Loved seeing your Mom.

Ceiling fan (at least the ones in my house): 1) Turn on-first Click/Pull-fast speed 2) Click/Pull-2nd time-medium speed. 3) Click/Pull-3rd time- slow speed 4) Click/Pulll-4th time- turn off You can either have the window air condition unit or central air. Central air runs through the whole entire house, all rooms.🙂

Hi Mum! Welcome! Ceiling fans do, in fact, usually have 3 settings (high, medium, and low) and often can be switched to run in reverse for in the cold months. When the fan runs in reverse, the blades lift the cold air upward instead of downward. So it doesn't heat the room so much as it just takes the chill away. The ice machine in the hotel was included in your room price. So essentially, it's "free" along with the continental breakfast. Enjoyed the video!

When I was growing up in the 1950's and 1960's, we did not have air conditioning. In summer, it would get to 102 F during the day and we could not stay in the house. We would sit outside on blankets in the shade and drink iced drinks. During the night, it would not get below 37 C or 95 F so that you could barely sleep.

There are three speeds on a ceiling fans low, medium and high and two rotational directions and yes one is to cool the space and the other to warm the space.
@jongrho6024 ай бұрын
In the 80's you started seeing wall switches to control the overhead fans (as well as to turn on/off the optional light that comes with most fans). Now, rather than a wall switch, remote controls are the preferred method to control the fan speed and light. Living in Nevada I have 4 overhead fans which allows me to save money by keeping my thermostat at 80F in the summer.

I enjoy a porch swing. The ice in hotels is free. & The thing about ice is the more ice you use the less it’s going to melt. On a hot day, fill it to the top with ice so your drink is ice cold 🥶. It will help cool you off in the heat. 🥵 You can make your sweet tea or lemonade a little stronger so when the ice does melt your drink still taste good. Having more mom is a plus. She's very nice and delightful. If you have to get bags of ice from a gas station convenience store or any other store, you will pay for it. Business is business. And they don't make the ice themselves at buc-ee's or anywhere else. There are ice companies that are basically ice factories. And these companies ship the ice around on trucks to various gas stations and other stores just like any other supplier. So making ice is actually a business. And a business needs to get paid.

Ice in hotels is free. Bagged ice is sold by stores for parties, where you'd be hard pressed to make enough ice for all of the guests. It's also used for filling insulated coolers that you take to the beach, or wherever you want to go. I've also used several bags to try to preserve food in the freezer when the freezer broke.

@The Beesleys I hope Mama Beesleys reads this. I live in Mississippi and have lived there for most of my life. We average between 95-100 degrees Fahrenheit, that's between 35-38 degrees Celcius, in the Summer. Last July we hit temps of 103 degrees Fahrenheit (39 C) with a heat index of 115 F (46.1 C) with humidity. The combination of heat and humidity can be absolutely brutal, even for those of us who permanently live in the South. Fans and Air Conditioners are absolutely necessary during the summer in the Southern States. If we didn't have them, people would be falling over from heat related health issues. We even have Heat Advisory Warnings as part of our weather warnings.

My house has three separate ceiling fans. They also have have a lamp built in. There two different pull switches so you can run both at same time or one without the other.. The fans have three speed settings and an additional switch which can reverse the rotation of the fan blades. This can help in cold temperature to evenly distribute airflow from a furnace.

The great thing about AC isn’t only that you can turn it on, but you can set it to the exact temperature you want. The newer unit controls are connected to smart home platforms, so you can just use your voice to tell Siri, Google, or Alexa to set the temperature.
