Usually when people hear "India is for Indians" they assume you mean is "India is for Indians and not for foreign colonisers". There is a difference between foreign violent colonisers snd people legally moving to your country because you need the labour force due to your aging population. If they didn't come, Britain would be dead in a few decades anyway because yoh're not having kids. Japan and Korea have decided to not go down the migration route but as a consequence they will be lucky if they still exist by the endbof the century. Koreas population is predicted to decline to 23% in a hundred years. Yikes.

Yep. It's a core feature of neoliberalism. Not only corporations but governments love it too. It provides easy economic growth. Someone born in the country the government has to support for 18 years before they start paying taxes. Most immigrants arrive as adults and ready made tax slaves (and many leave when they retire, meaning the government doesn't have to pay for their pension/healthcare in old age).

That doesn't have to be true. People do self-segregate to some degree, but it definitely isn't natural or good in all cases. I would argue that certain ethnic groups segregate because they can't afford but to live in a certain area. That's usually why you see a lot of immigrants in cheap areas, and a bit more diverse in middle class areas. This of course doesn't need to be true, there are many cases where middle class areas are totally dominated by white people. @@greywolf7422 "A group or people" is basically the definition of "society". Society is a group of people. Anyway, colonialism is when an outside power comes in and conquers a country and then forces them into an unequal relation, oftentimes granting locals an unequal status, and rule that territory and people for the benefit of the conquering territory. That and whatever is happening in the UK are completely different situations, unless you think the English have colonized Wales and Scotland (and or possibly southern England colonized the north) or something, which would be quite ahistorical. That said you can complain about your lifestyle changing all you want and say you don't want it to change, just know it is other of your own people who decided to change it, and they have every right to do it if they want. If you want to create like a small community that doesn't accept those changes, like the Amish, I suppose many countries will allow you to - you just can't expect the rest of the dutch (to stay in this analogy) to give up on electricity just because you like candles better

The problem is that people immigrating usually do it for economic reasons, and they don't respect the local culture and customs, though it should be noted that many do integrate well, there's just a recent trend of that not being the case. If I as a white person immigrated to Japan, should I rudely not follow their customs, and accuse Japanese people of racism when they complain I have no respect for their culture? The problem is there is no melting pot in Europe unlike Migration Countries like USA, Canada, Brazil, ... etc. People tend to stick with their own religious or ethnic group and this leads to ghettofication. Also some cultures cannot peacefully function with other cultures. For example you cannot expect a Religious South Asian Hindu and a Religious South Asian Muslim to live together without problems just look at Leicester. Some people groups have animosity for one another. To stop this animosity either you have to force everyone to become British culturally or kick them out which democratic countries cannot do both. Also multiethnicism is not a problem as long as people share the same/similar culture just look at native Brits who are made up of Germanic and Celtic people but have lived in harmony since the 1700's if you don't include the Ireland situations which is another topic but was mostly a religious conflict in my opinion. Also these are just my views and I could be wrong because I'm not British but from mainland Europe.

@@abu3960 Because it only becomes an issue when we become to minority in our own country, which is rapidly approaching. In general white peoples existence is under threat and i’m not some alt right conspiracy theorist and I don’t believe anyone is trying to do it on purpose but what’s basically happening is white people don’t have as many kids as other races do, combined with the fact that rampant immigration sweeps white countries and those immigrants may have kids with white people the white population will likely be gone within 200 years. Regardless of that, i’m proud to be English. I’m proud of our culture and our culture has been drowned out, many immigrants don’t respect it or don’t care for it. Many of them just claim we either have no culture or ive even gone as far to say that modern British culture is just to be multi cultural and let the others bring their own culture. What a disgusting situation to be in, and as an English person who is proud of my countries history and culture how do you think it makes me and others feel watching it be drowned out and disrespected? If you have any issues or queries with it then you’re labelled racist and sent off. I’ve seen some immigrants or second immigrants go as far to celebrate that the UK is becoming less white, or even go as far to say that this is “their country” now. My point isn’t that I hate other races or cultures, many immigrants do contribute greatly to society and deserve to be here and I don’t advocate for the harming of any of them, but it’s frankly getting ridiculous. Imagine going to visit Japan in hopes to see Japan for the country it is and see their culture or their people but when you arrive Tokyo and other major cities are just full of Polish, Italian and Russian people. (I’m picking these at random) Or going to Egypt and it’s full of Chinese and Indian people and the Egyptian culture has become mired and muddied in a melting pot. @@greywolf7422 This implies that we need to "preserve" our nations (nation being a region with a defined ethno-cultural group) to have a good standard of living, which makes no sense whatsoever when you look at it from a purely analytical standpoint. For starters, birth rates in the west are rapidly declining, leading to economic downturn; if we ban immigration, we accelerate this process even more. Many of the countries these immigrants (at least for the UK) are relatively well educated, but aren't paid well enough in their home country, meaning that they can give themselves a better standard of living while also generating more wealth within the economy. Secondly, we have the greatest amount of information recorded about ourselves than any other point of time in history; our cultures are much more well preserved than even those which promoted strong traditionalism and made vast records of themselves. To think that any nation will disappear from immigration alone in the modern era is an easy assumption, yet a heavily underdeveloped one. That being said, over the centuries, different cultural groups came and went, but as they did, the standard of living always, however gradually it may've been, increased. One example of this would be England itself; the early Celts lived in a relatively primitive society, then the Romans came and established great cities and public works for them. Afterwards the Anglo-Saxons came, and after a millennia, created a state which rivaled Rome itself in terms of living. Of course, these came with violent conquest of England, but this is what sets modern immigration apart, as the process is done in a peaceful and civilized manner without meaning harm to the native population. TL;DR: Immigration helps to promote the economy and standard o living of the country, while not directly clashing with the culture.

Just because they are not as large of a majority, or even become a minority in the future, They still have the right to claim British heritage, British culture, and continue practicing their distinct culture and language as defined by themselves. The British culture will never be destroyed or removed even if they become a minority because nobody is trying to destroy or remove them. Immagrints move to the UK with the intent of coexisting for mutual benefit, rather than the colonial mindset of intentionally moving somewhere for opportunity to spread your culture and ideas at the expense of the native population. Also, the census never described white and black skinned people as specific ethnic groups. The UK is the only sovereign country to have left the EU. The UK had been a member state of the EU or its predecessor the European Communities (EC), sometimes of both at the same time, since 1 January 1973. Following Brexit, EU law and the Court of Justice of the European Union no longer have primacy over British laws, except in select areas in relation to Northern Ireland. The European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 retains relevant EU law as domestic law, which the UK can now amend or repeal. Under the terms of the Brexit withdrawal agreement, Northern Ireland continues to participate in the European Single Market in relation to goods, and to be a de facto member of the EU Customs Union. The EU and its institutions have developed gradually since their establishment and during the 47 years of British membership, and grew to be of significant economic and political importance to the United Kingdom. Throughout the period of British membership, Eurosceptic groups had existed, opposing aspects of the EU and its predecessors. Labour prime minister Harold Wilson's pro-EC government held a referendum on continued EC membership in 1975, in which 67.2 per cent of those voting chose to stay within the bloc, but no further referendums were held during the subsequent process of European integration, aimed at "ever closer union", embodied in the Treaties of Maastricht, Amsterdam, Nice and Lisbon. As part of a campaign pledge to win votes from Eurosceptics, Conservative prime minister David Cameron promised to hold a referendum if his government was re-elected. His government subsequently held a referendum on continued EU membership in 2016, in which voters chose to leave the EU with 51.9 per cent of the vote share. This led to his resignation, his replacement by Theresa May, and four years of negotiations with the EU on the terms of departure and on future relations, completed under a Boris Johnson government, with government control remaining with the Conservative Party in this period. The negotiation process was both politically challenging and deeply divisive within the UK, leading to two snap elections. One deal was rejected by the British parliament, causing great uncertainty and leading to postponement of the withdrawal date to avoid a no-deal Brexit. The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020 after a withdrawal deal was passed by Parliament but continued to participate in many EU institutions (including the single market and customs union) during an eleven month transition period in order to ensure frictionless trade until all details of the post-Brexit relationship were agreed and implemented. Trade deal negotiations continued within days of the scheduled end of the transition period and the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement was signed on 30 December 2020. The effects of Brexit will in part be determined by the cooperation agreement, which provisionally applied from 1 January 2021, and formally came into force on 1 May 2021. The broad consensus among economists is that it is likely to harm the UK's economy and reduce its real per capita income in the long term, and that the referendum itself damaged the economy. It is likely to produce a large decline in immigration from countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) to the UK, and poses challenges for British higher education and academic research.

The prediction of occurrences after exiting European Union jurisdictions on government economic policy. A British government has the opportunity to facilitate larger economic growth while outside the European Union. Compared to the growth it may experience if Britain had stayed in the European Union. From this observation, Britain leaving the European Union won’t lead to economic decline if government economic policy could be orchestrated to an advantage. It creates segregations even if it is not intentional, people just tend to like to live and be around others like them. There are entire pockets of London where it feels like Pakistan or Nigeria which would be great if we were actually in Pakistan or Nigeria but we are not. The politicians and the rich who advocate for mass migration and diversity all live in their rich safe upscale neighborhoods where it is majority white. It is the same case in the UK, in the US, and in Australia. Something is seriously wrong when you go to Sydney, New York, London or Toronto and all you see are Chinese and Indian people. Millions of Indians and Chinese are moving to places like the UK, the US and Australia EVERY YEAR. Imagine if this was reverse and millions of Westerners are going to third world countries and taking their jobs, living spaces, and medical care. Fight me in the comments I don’t care.

If Indians and Chinese were low on a domestic working population and had low birth rates, and was generally fine with western culture coexisting amonst them, I really doubt they would be that upset if white people made up a minority of their population but coexisted peacefully in some majority-pockets. When it comes to unintentional self-segregation I honestly understand your point. Where it can feel like pockets of south-asians or africans arent neccisarrly coexisting as much as they are existing separately away from the majority population. However, Id argue that the majority population could be at fault for this too. For every distinct neighborhood with a minority white population there are probably at least 5 that have at least a 90% majority population. People are allowed to be around people who speak their native language and understand their culture, and its perfectly normal to want this. Furthermore, a large reason why these neighbourhoods can be minority white is the fact that white people do not want to move their! This could be for many reasons, such as the neighborhood having lower socio-economic standing than other neighbourhoods (which is often the case with distinct pockets where white people are the minority) or for the fact that they don't want to live in a minority white neighbourhood (Just as an immigrant might rather live in a neighbourhood where their ethnicity is a higher % of the population). So basically Immagrants can not be blamed for living in their own neighbourhoods if white people choose not to live there. And if you think seeing a ton of english speaking people of Chinese or Indian decent is a problem, you may be a part of the actual problem.

With census data like this one, it is also a question about who counts as white. Some immigrants that are white don't identify as white because it is a cultural marker. Census data usually looks skin colour because of the distinct experiences people have when they can blend in with the majority culture vs if they physically cant.

Western governments, especially in the English speaking West, are using mass migration as a cheap and easy source of economic growth without considering the societal consequences that it brings. So instead of doing their job and coming up with policies for long term, sustainable economic growth they’d rather bring in millions of Indians, Chinese and Africans who will compete with the local population for resources like living space, education, and healthcare. As if the housing market, healthcare system and public transport systems in places like London, New York, Sydney and Toronto aren’t already unbearable enough because of decades of migration, let’s bring in millions more. The UK is now starting to change its policy direction to training and hiring locally and that's not based on ethnicity, but morally if we want prosperity and wealth we need to give everyone a future so businesses should invest in technology, and local job creation not legal forms of wage slavery as most immigrants are exploited by employers in that way in addition to landlords who charge high rents and force newcomers to sleep 2 families to a room, thats not the britain they came for and we need to do better. except WW2 was a big factor when it came to immigration. Britain needed a lot of outside support especially shortly after WW2 when the NHS was established and there was not enough people willing to become doctors and nurses. WW2 wasn't an anti-imigration war, it was a war against expanding Germany primarily. though since Winston Churchill was PM at the time, you could argue he maybe had secondary intentions.

I think people should be united in a country by a shared culture and a similar land. So while there may be more people with darker skin in Scotland, I don't mind as long as the Scottish culture persists, expands and adapts to the modern world. It does mean we may have to start vitamin D bulking our food but I doubt that will be a problem anytime soon. The Scottish culture was strong enough to survive in spite of hundreds of years of trying to wipe it from existence by the English and as a result I am not concerned when various people from outside Scotland arrive into this land. Their kids are honestly more likely to have a Scottish accent than the accent of their parents, and will likely identify as Scottish. As far as I'm concerned you've just created more Scottish people. Cultural enclaves can halt this effect but again Scottish culture is just one of those cultures a lot of people want to take part in and we have people who are usually willing to allow them to partake.

I find this deeply concerning, as it implies that society is willing to take away a group of people's right to define and exist as a distinct group, isn't this antithetical to why we view colonialism bad, aka destruction of culture and the removal of the native ethnic group. Also describing white and black as ethnic groups ties into the destruction of distinct ethic groups such as the Anglo-Saxons, Gaelic Scotts and others.

8:00 Note that HSBC is actually short for “Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation”, so them having Chinese text on their signs is actually pretty appropriate. HSBC as we know it here in the UK didn’t really exist until 1999, after they fully took over Midlands Bank. This is also why they’re known as “HSBC UK” rather than just “HSBC”, as that’s used for the main Hong Kong arm of the bank.
