Depends on how you're counting visitors. A businessman from Brussels traveling to Paris for a day is not the same as a tourist spending several days. Because of the ease of mobility in the EU, a lot of those visitors may just be on business or visiting for a few hours.

Even though we can't ever trust the US, we will always have some serious ties with them. The US is in serious decline both intellectuallt and socially. The level of corruption and the attacks on education with the rise in power of fundamentalist stupidity will not soon go away. Any signed agreement with the US has zero value. Canada alone is not a big enough prize or have the influence to negotiate equally with the EU. The UK however is also in the dumpster by their own choice and is not likely to be able rejoin. Canada and the UK together are substancial economies about 6 trillion. Canada has huge resources which will be come even more avaiable with global warming. that the EU needs and cannot get anywhere else reliably. Canada should replace Russia in all such imports to the EU. Combined the UK and Canada could negotiate an association with the EU with a body to make compadible reguations that completely remove all tariffs in some sectors without paperwork. Canada could work with the UK to rebuild a military possibly sharing a enlarged nuclear deterent force jointly controled. This working with the French could provide a force independent of US policy and big enough to deter any aggression against them or even the EU. Say possibly7 nuclear missle sub instead of the 4 the British currently plan. It would mean expanding their production facilities possibly in depressed areas.

I mean St Pierre and Miquelon is right there, so France is right next to Canada and Greenland is a Danish territory, so it is not too far from EU territory to begin with.

I'm from Belarus. It''s fucking nightmare, not an election. Even if they draw results by theselves, they still have to make prpaganda about people support. Assuming how is war in Ukraine is running, we will have a chance to free ourselves only after both dictators gone. Btw, army of Russia were ready to enter my country in 2020, if protesters would win, somehow.

As a prussian: The HRE was holy an empire but you can argue about roman, Prussia still exists in Germany and Austria wanted to be annexed in 1871

I look at this as a fantastic opportunity to start expanding our global reach. Canada still has a strong connection to Europe as a commonwealth nation. Canada needs to go back to its roots. God save the King

The entire Fentenyl argument buggles my mind. Im from Niagara Ontario. He have a serious issues with Fentenyl bring smuggled into Ontario from America. Human Trafficking also goes from America into Ontario. The argument to secure or borders is BS. America needscto secure their own northern border and stop human trafficking into Canada.

The UK was treated harshly of leaving by the EU because the UK had a outrageously good deal no other nation in the EU got, you guys got to keep your own currency among other things no nation was able to get. The EU was making a example of you guys about the consequences of leaving the EU and truly I think any nation thinking of leaving the EU has completely erroded.

Canada joining the EU sounds as such interesting, but is not realistic. I think it's even in the treaties that it is about European countries. The idea of a multi-tiered EU looks very promising in this context. Wait, there is such a thing called EEA ... is European a requirement there?
