Kam was EVERYTHING I want to see in a defensive player. Absolute predator. Pain. Make them hurt. Make them feel that deep ache long after the game is over. After he became more notorious, receivers would actually pull away from completing catches if they knew he was near. That was a huge factor in why he got so many interceptions- receivers hesitated to actually reach out and grab the ball. It got to the point where I wanted the other teams to make catches just so Kam could hit them. Pain. Only pain. 😤

Chancellor was listed at roughly 225 lbs (100 kg), and he once knocked an offensive lineman listed at 310 lbs (140 kg) on his back, then made the tackle on the running back right after.

👍👍👍👍👍 You saw a lot of "separate-man-from-ball" hits from Cam Chancellor. I live in Seattle and have had the pleasure of watching this man play for years and witness his unique and extraordinary athleticism and controlled aggression. 😁😁😁😁😁 Most if not all NFL players are exceptional athletes so to rise above your peers in this game of super athletes speaks volumes about your abilities. Safeties always seem to deliver the most devastating hits. It's probably because they operate in open space and often have enough room and time to reach top collision speed. Chancellor was a terrifying physical specimen, but I nonetheless place him behind a tightly packed group of the best ever to play the position. 1.) Ronnie Lott 2.) Jack Tatum (mystifyingly and tragically, *NOT* in the Hall of Fame) 3.) Troy Polomalu 4.) Ed Reed Still, Cam was pretty damn good.

@@kabirconsiders Another great one - Steve Atwater. He had a long, great career. He won two Super Bowls. But, he's remembered specifically for one particular tackle. There was a running back named Christian Okoye, AKA the "Nigerian Nightmare". Okoye was monstrous - about 120kg and *fast*. Not "big guy" fast... legitimate sprinter speed. He was running through people as though they were made of papier mâché. One night, Atwater, who was giving up at least 20kg, *DESTROYED* Akoye. The sound of the impact literally sounded like a gunshot. Akoye is actually a mild mannered person. He was so used to a relative lack of contact, simply because no one had ever dared to take him on directly. After Atwater blew him up, he was never the same runner. I watched that game live on television. It was truly frightening to see.
