I love Japanese candies and snacks. Eat them all the time because I'm a big Japanese Anime and Manga fan. I get my Japanese snacks and candies through a Gaming store I go play Warhammer 40k at because they also sell comics, manga, and anime too. I also get Akibento Japanese snack and candy boxes myself.

I know that this is very late, but you should try Malaysian snacks/candies. I would suggest: Mamee Monster Noodle Snack Yupi Gummi Burger Yan Yan (different flavours) Haw flakes Sugus Ice Gems biscuits Mini bun biscuits - these are sweet, melt in your mouth candy breads Malaysian Milo (don't get the Australian one, it's not as nice) - Milo is a chocolate malt drink which is good both iced or hot. Also any type of kuih, especially kuih bahulu and kuih kapit (love letters). Kuih means cake in Malay and usually refers to their traditional coconut (sorry Kate!) based traditional sweets. Malaysian Twisties I haven't tried all of these myself as I had many food allergies as a child, but I think it would be interesting for the 2 of you to try. But actually our street food is so good so if you do get the chance, Malaysia is such a food heaven especially Penang. Root beer is so nasty! Why would you do that to poor unsuspecting people. Lemon heads are pretty good, but red hots are not that great, and she wouldn't like them because they are stronger flavored than hot tamales, and she couldn't handle those.

@shyc1547

Darren Martin it may be an American company but its founder was Italian and the chocolate is inspired by the Swiss style.
@MrHenry2007
@MrHenry2007 6 жыл бұрын
Ghirardelli started 166 years ago. It wasn't bought by Lindt until 1998 and WAS NOT inspired by the Swiss. While in California (taken from the company's website) "A Ghirardelli employee discovers that by hanging a bag of chocolate mass in a warm room, the cocoa butter drips out, leaving a residue that can be processed into ground chocolate. This is known as the Broma process and produces a more intense chocolate flavor than other techniques." So Ghiradelli is AMERICAN Chocolate--using a technique that was created in America.

I’m seeing that a lot. I’ve been to China and the UK and didn’t have a snack food budget in either place so we didn’t do a smorgasbord of those snacks like we could have. But I’m hearing a lot of hate on American chocolate. We grew up with family from Germany very concerned that we would not know how good chocolate tasted and sending us German and Italian chocolates. I never really mind when people hate on our chocolate because of it can be quite waxy, more wax than chocolate. Some of it is amazing, though.
