These are two fine actors who are clearly critical thinkers, articulate and passionate about their work.

As much I observed Timothée is not a person who shares his feelings easily He'll talk about many things but he'll not talk about his struggles or more personal stuffs He's not comfortable sharing this in front of Camera People should understand that

I actually think he shares his feelings easily but overtime he got mocked so mercilessly he’s learned to conceal them.

36:05 Trauma is what's hard to talk about. Breaks my heart a bit that people were laughing. You can see in Saoirse's eyes that she gets him.

The word "trauma" needs to be reserved for people that were raped by their uncle. It's a specific medical term for people that are paralyzed psychologically.

"There's nothing interesting about feeling... sometimes feeling distant from self in a way." I hope you're right, that he's just saying that to avoid talking about a disturbing experience. Feeling distant from oneself as a result of trauma, emotional neglect, psychological violence or pressure etc. is definitely something that's important, interesting and worth to be talked about or listened to. Kafka's work is also an interesting source of information about this. But maybe that's not what he's referring to, therefore he added "sometimes".

Extremely talented young actors… Chalamet would be such a great choice for a Trotsky’s biopic… hehe

Must be hard being a celebrity, no privacy, being alienated from others, being dehumanized by being over-idealized by people. You can tell why it'd be difficult to talk about

Ok, I’ll just say it bc I was hoping someone else had mentioned it in the comments. As much as I enjoyed this interview, I feel a different energy from Timothee and idk why I feel concerned 😦 I’ve watched his interviews for years now and I’ve witnessed his evolution in the hot seat…from squirmy awkward charming newcomer to an experienced yet humble acteur. But lately I’ve been sensing a heaviness in his interviews. And this one just seemed to confirm what I’ve witnessed in a few other interviews for the Bob Dylan press tour. Maybe he’s just burnt out. I pray he has a proper outlet and source of support and comfort ❤ he’s so brillant and well-rounded and talented, i wish him the best and hope he paces himself.

He’s tired but you’re not wrong that modern Timothée is very guarded.

I picked up on that too, especially in this q&a. Hopefully he is just tired from working non-stop. I know for a celebrity he is very private about his personal life which is fine, but I hope he is doing well both physically and mentally.

ah yes of course no one saw it yet it grossed 108 million at the box office and 218 million worldwide (on a 40 million budget), is one of the most popular movies of 2019, got 5 oscar nominations and is still quoted and widely beloved to this day (only 5 years on)
