Chris I agree completely , I first rode in a p5 in 1975 , I was 5 years old and 47 years later I can still remember it , wished I’d have been born earlier and could have bought one new! Def one of Great Britain,s best cars

Sadly the 1970s came and this all went out the window. Steady dimise. They still had some moments of great products during and after the 70s, SD1 and the 75 spring to mind. Poor management and disgruntled workers led to the death in the end.

@@jojojojo4332 agree but you can't deny the striking workers, poor management decisions and shoddy build during the 70s were to blame as well. The products became tarnished and buyers went elsewhere.

Fabulously primitive testing instrumentation. Women clean each wheel. Just women btw. Then they listen. 😂. Nothing like this today. Divine.

Quality is an oxymoron in Britain. 😂

Surveys in recent years show Land Rover and Jaguar to be the least reliable makes. The Japanese cars, even those made in Britain, are the most reliable, due to quality control, Japanese middle management (in England) and new factories set up in areas without a car-making tradition. JLR is Indian-owned but still has British managers.

The reason is simple....Ford owns them. Interesting to see that since Ford took over that Ford designs have become very Rover -looking and reliable and the Rover branded vehicles have become unreliable......funny how that works isn't it. I predict the Rover name will disappear and everything will be Ford, and reliable. "How to get Rid of Your Competition and Own The World and have your previous competitors pay for it." Simple plan but very clever.

????? Have you fallen through a time warp? Rover ceased to exist 15 years ago and Ford got rid of Jaguar 12 years ago.

Rovers error was to sucked into the BL catastrophe. They were spat out finally in the demise of the Phoenix group. Who has the Rover name now ! China. The name can’t be used because of that hard V. 😂 Roway lol. Vale British motor industry.
