Yes, Sohyang is an intellectual powerhouse! She speak five languages, Korean, English, French, Vietnamese and simple Chinese, and reads Greek. Her university degree is in French literature. As others have already mentioned, she has several fantasy novels in print in South Korea in addition to a treatise on the Book of Revelation. We are not dealing with a flash in the pan talent here. But you are right, she is a totally genuine and humble woman. This much talent and humility seldom go hand in hand, do they? I think the thought of Hollywood size fame and that phony ego-ridden lifestyle makes her skin crawl, to be honest. When all is said and done, we just can't get enough of her. 💥💘👌

The last two minutes of this performance are the essence of pure joy. Please always search for a version that has English subtitles. They are out there for her most famous performances. For this particular performance they are absolutely essential. I am sorry that you can't know what she is singing and saying. She is singing about Jesus. As moving as is her vocal performance, the words also have great meaning. A shame. Wonderful performer isn't she? Cheers.

It might be somewhat of a cliché saying he/she sings "from the heart" however when it comes to Sohyang it's 100 % true! You can tell she sings and pours her very heart and soul when she sings. She's as far from fakery you can come.

I guess it takes another artist, vocal coach, etc...to truly understand just how difficult a performance this is. Didnt you review I Have Nothing and Bridge Over Troubled Waters,? Ok maybe I cancel getting to know Sohyang this week…. I mean really?? … I appreciate music and I enjoy listening to different genres and artists, everyone has an opinion and a preference, some people will hate Sohyang and they don’t like that sort of music, that’s their preference. I enjoyed our early reaction to Sohyang so much that I make her the focus point of this week to learn more about her as a person and her covers. I am enjoying it and smiling each day so perhaps think about that first….. yes it was in English and yes I am more surprise between moving between languages and the talent of that… that’s a nice comment to wake up to today thanks BPR

The English verse is evidently from Psalm 23 and the guy who wrote this song is a pastor Yoon Hang Gi who was a rock star in the 50s and the 60s, he gave this song to his sister who is a diva in Korea who brought the miniskirt fad in Korea in the late sixties Yoon Bok Hui ...According to some rumors she was given this song from her brother while she was going thru some really tough times with the divorce with another major singer of Korea Nam Jin...

This song (여러분): In 1979, got the Grand prize at Seoul International Song Festival. sang by Yoon Bock-hee (77). I saw that moment on TV when I was young (11). I am so sad because Yoon is sick. I hope she gets better soon! (sorry my poor English) I love Sohyang' s songs very much. I love your channel too^^
