Mr. H, I know what you mean when you say the food makes you happy. We Americans love our food, and for me and loads of other people food is more than just satisfying our hunger or nutritional needs. There’s an emotional connection with some foods that make them “comfort foods” and they really, really make us happy in a way that salad or vegetables or whatnot just can’t. Our love of comfort food is a bit of an addiction, which is why so many of us struggle with maintaining a healthy weight. Ps. The chicken fried steak and hash brown casserole are my favorite things at Cracker Barrel. I’m glad you got to experience them fresh and hot in the restaurant.😋

Never had a sausage sandwich with Jam, but I love Sausage breakfast sandwiches for breakfast and most often they are made with scrambled egg and cheese on top. You can get a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich at many restaurants including even fast food joints like McDonalds. The real difference is some are a Biscuit sandwich or one that uses an English Muffin. Even Bruegger's Bagels make Bagel sausage egg and Cheese breakfast sandwiches that are best in my opinion made on their Everything Bagel.

My wife and I enjoy travelling the country in a Recreational Vehicle (a.k.a "RV" - in our case, an Airstream travel trailer - you'd probably call it a "caravan"). Cracker Barrel allows overnight RV parking (free) in their parking lot (you'd probably call it a "car park"). One of our favorite things to do while travelling is to park overnight at Cracker Barrel, have a nice night's rest, then have a great breakfast at Cracker Barrel and hit the road again, well rested and well-fed! Cracker Barrel's breakfast is awesome!

I ate at Cracker Barrel for years and always ordered the same thing for dinner, Country fried steak, Hashbrown Casserole, Pinto Beans, and Cole Slaw. When it's good it's just GOOD!! And Biscuits, of course. I travelled for four years all across the country doing service work on machines. I was so glad when there was a Cracker Barrel near by. They are perhaps the most consistent restaurant ever. No matter where I was, I knew the evening meal was going to be good. That's worth so much when you're living out of hotel rooms. They do a great job of training their cooks for consistency. So glad to see your Texas videos starting up now. Keep them coming. Good timing too because I emailed you some recipes today, one of them from Cracker Barrel. Steve Williams from KY

If I have toast love to sop up the egg with it. If I get scrambled eggs I mix them in with the grits. My favorite breakfast...poached eggs, beans, mushrooms, bacon and sausage and a pot of hot tea! Yes, you've guessed it, I absolutely love the great British fry up...I've traveled to the U.K, Ireland and Australia, and when there that's what I always have the morning after. I love the scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam...and tea. At home I love fried eggs over medium, bacon, sausage and whole wheat toast, with a tomato...with either coffee or hot tea.

Cracker Barrel has a great vibe too, as a kid it’s like your in an amusement park One of my best memories of my grandma (who is thankfully still alive) was when we went to Cracker Barrel lunch together in my early 20’s. She’s from South Carolina & our family recipes go back generations. So she knows how to cook just ab everything on their menu & us having good conversation, discusssing the food & how she would have cooked it & enjoying the food, environment & each others company is a great memory. She lives on a farm in SC, old tobacco drying barns everywhere, true southern. 1000000% the opposite of city life & that’s the way we like it. One of my worst nightmares is having to live in a big city
