You are right he has copies the MJ dunk so much. You seen on you seen them all. You also seen other players doing dunks. Only 2 players are making passes that defy logic. When you are passing the ball between 2 defensive players. That is more exciting then seeing the dunks that at least one player on a team can do.

NBA hates that white Europeans are dominating the NBA. Jokic 3x MVP (should be 4 but Embiid got the "anyone but jokic" MVP) and then Luka dominating this playoffs yet the last few years, they been trying to push Ja on us - who they stopped caring about since his gun charge, then Shai - who had a great year but still, and not ANT, who had a few good series and all of a sudden is MJ's son when he's really Luka's.

The "face of the league" is decided by brands and who they think is the most marketable. Guys like Luka, Tatum, Gannis, and Jokic are all just normal guys, they don't have big personalities that brands can market. A good example of this is Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Brady was kind of quiet and reserved whereas Peyton was an outgoing, funny, likeable guy and that's why he got so many endorsments and commercials.
@faervas12348 ай бұрын
Luka is like a big kid on the court. His joy of the game is what is attractive. The big stories off the courts is he got married and had a baby girl eat bad food and drinks lots of beer. he is very relatable. I was watching MJ early interviews. He was a big country kid. He was not the smooth city talker. He was not getting stories about him getting in trouble. He was relatable for the general fanbase. The Media hated him, It was not until he proved himself on the court did the media had to admit he was a great player. They could not make stuff up about how bad of a player he was. The last criticism was MJ could not play defense. So MJ the next year became defensive player of the year. The only thing left was getting ring and he got 3 in a row twice. The Broadcasters know what is up. The Mavs get the second most games that are nationally broadcast. For the last 2 years because people tune in to watch LBJ and Luka now.

MJ was the best player on the court but lost a lot of games, scoring 40 points in a game. Luka is putting up triple double and scoring. He is the only player in history that is doing these things. It took me 2 plays for me to be a fan. I stopped watching NBA in the 90's and he is why I am watching now. If you entire understanding of basket ball is after the internet then you do not have a full understanding. it's like me trying to compare players before the 80's when most games were not broadcast and when they were broadcast it was only locally. @dre273217 ай бұрын
not really. Wemby is already being called a potential face of the league by the media which contradicts your statement. But about the specific players you named Jokic doenst have that much mainstream appeal and he was under the radar until recent years(meaning it would be a little late to call him the new face by the time he became a household name). Giannis would make more sense than him BUT his team isn't dominant enough for him to be the face even though his individual performance is( if it weren't about team success then KD would've been a candidate back in the day but he never was) this also applies to Jokic again. Luka makes a lot of sense for the same reason Giannis does but has more lean NOW because his team is finally getting real success, combine that with his age and he can become the face. But its too late for the other two due to age and their teams having less future potential than Dallas (i doubt either of them are going to win a finals again without really big changes). Also, Embiid plays for Team USA and he NEVER has been thought of as the next face.
