It may shock you but my favorite cereal is Rasin Bran. But here is where folks will think I'm weird. Fix a bowl of Rasin Bran and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. I then eat it lol. I am addicted to soggy Rasin Bran. It is delicious! Don't judge until you try it. I also add some sugar to it as well : ))

Not all of our cereal is “ just sugar” but the most popular ones are the sweeter ones. And unlike your government that regulates it, In America it’s up to the individual to not buy the unhealthy thing just because it’s cheap and available.

I was just going to make a similar point. Many Europeans comment about how unhealthy or sugary foods they try from the u.s. are. I always hope they realize that there are plenty of healthy alternatives available. Eating unhealthy foods is a choice, not a necessity.

True. But they were just showing them the popular kids cereals. They are kids. UK also has many sugary cereals. Cocoa Pops I liked. It is more like our Cocoa Puffs. I said it too saying this is not for me but truly for kids. Sometimes you feel like a kid going back. Flintstones also equivalent to Cocoa Pebbles. I forgot the name. I did not have it. Like a chocolate Rice Krispies. I found out the same companies that came from the USA rebranded them there with different names. Frosted Flakes are Frosties there. I love the 3 I mentioned here Cocoa Puffs Captain Crunch and Frosted Flakes were my favorites by far as a kid with milk. Corn Flakes Rice Krispies were boring and Cheerios. Bland. Sometimes I liked it. Now I still love those cereals but I try never to eat them. Many once or twice a year with the tiny boxes because they get so addictive. They were talking about kid cereals. When I was a kid I would have never touched Tricks the Fruity Cereals with milk? The thought makes me still think ewww. Lucky Charms too. Never had them. Most I knew had the ones I mentioned. England and Ireland on how they prepare their food is catching up to the USA. Canada and Australia the same. 1970S was when the USA was changing our foods. For example in Rome and cities in Italy, Mc Donalds is packed!! Not many of them but they are packed and not with Americans but Italians. I thought not to be caught dead in there. They told me their Mc Donalds is better than the USA. Better made! Local Grown meats healthier than the USA. Strict there on how they made their foods. Probably like the MC Donalds in the USA in the 40s 50s and early 60s before they decided to put these chemicals or hight frustose corn syrup in everything saying it is all fine! Europe it is banned! The Coke in Europe including England is made by sugar not by high frustose corn syrup! They do not have an obesity problem and lived there for years, they eat so much! Theu never ever think about the fat in food. They when they want!!

@danielsullivan9271 Well that's good. I don't like it when people from different countries get the wrong info about the way things really are in other countries. Whether it's the U.S., China, The UK, or wherever. I suppose misinformation will continue to decline as a result of social media interactions. By the way, my mother never bought sugary cereals for us. My favorites were Shredded Wheat and raisin nut bran.

@@RealDiehl99 true. I agree! Living overseas from the media and movies they think we only eat fast food all the time and we shop are Walmart like we don’t have other supermarkets or markets. I always have to explain to Europeans and they get surprised thinking we only eat hamburgers and hotdogs everyday. Lunch at Mc Donalds. I tell them well some do. England I do notice many love our fast food thinking also that’s what we have. So many we have they know and love. Italy I know they don’t have many McDonalds but there are are few in the cities and they are packed! By Italians but they keep thinking it’s American food. To be honest theirs is locally made products like maybe how our McDonalds were made in the 40s 50s 60s before they changed our food. Corporate farming. England doesn’t have delis. Ready made sandwiches in small shops Like only tuna and mayo and many of them have sweet corn calling it American because of the corn and if you didn’t want that then you can’t have that sandwich. They have subways everywhere now. Here in NJ and NJ very few of them. We have authentic delis. Some I like better than others.
@RealDiehl99
@RealDiehl99 Жыл бұрын
@@danielsullivan9271 I'm in South Jersey! The deli scene probably isn't as strong here as other parts of the state. Wawa or other similar convenience stores are our delis. Although some of the local pizzerias and sandwich shops offer great food choices. Thanks for sharing your perspective as someone who has traveled overseas.

It seems to be new cereal season, too. I went food shopping yesterday and saw General Mills has come out with "mini" versions of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, etc. where they're little balls instead of the usual shapes. I also saw Oreo and Kit Kat cereal. I don't know anyone who eats that kind of cereal for breakfast though. We go for stuff like Cheerios, Oatmeal Squares, Total, Raisin Bran...but I'm thinking about that Kit Kat cereal a lot. LOL

Lucky Charms is my favourite of the bunch. I still need to buy a box once in a while. Speaking as a Canadian growing up in the 80's, when I was a kid I never cared about how much sugar was in any of the cereals that's for sure. In fact, the more the merrier, you buy them expecting the sugar and the artificial flavouring. I recently tried Fruity Pebbles and was surprised as to how much I enjoyed them. The only one I have no recollection of trying is Trix. I sure remember the commercials though while watching Saturday morning cartoons. Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!!

Cap'n Crunch is notorious for cutting up the roof of your mouth. Go for the Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch. Great taste & they're round, so no sharp edges!

Cap'n Crunch is good but I prefer the Crunch Berries version with fake berries in it.

Another bad thing about these cereals is they have like 9x the amount of iron in them, enough where you can put a piece in a bowl and it'll be attracted to a magnet

There is not a person in America who ddn't get the line 'Silly Rabbit turns milk pink" joke. "Silly Rabbit... Trix are for kids" BooBerry is the best artificially fruit flavored cereal. Think Lucky Charms except blueberry flavored cereal and marshmallows

There was a Nilla banana pudding flavor cereal but it has been discontinued. It really did taste like banana pudding.

Im not a fan of sugary cerials, however I do love me some Cap N Crunch. I think the feelings are mutual here between the two countrys. Im more of a raisin bran, coco crispies, cherios kinda yankee.😊😅

They are kinda cray, Reese's Puffs and Froot Loops are good. Maybe they aren't used to the peanut butter taste. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is good if you eat it before it gets too soggy but like really that goes for all cereal. Captain Crunch is good but Peanut Butter Crunch is better.

i like golden grams and honey cheerios i also like frosted flakes it also doesnt surprise me that they liked the cinnamon toast crunch. i dont care for the fruit cereal we have here. not a fan of the reeses puffs because they leave a greasy feelig on your lips and tongue. i also like the chocolate cereals we have here.
