It’s sad because you’re right and so are they. Fast food/packaged food industry has made so much sugar the norm that everyone’s baselines of sweetness is messed up. Fruit should be what we consider a sweet treat. But because we fill ourself up with sugar from our first meal to our last, we crave it more. It’s a dirty game

I for one can't stand milk anywhere close and I mean ANYWHERE CLOSE to room temperature so I before eating for anything with milk e.g. Graham crackers, Oreos, iced oatmeal cookies, etc. I pour my milk in whatever and add an ice cube or two depending on the size stir the milk for a bit until it's ice cold and then I add the cereal or w/e. The ice cubes stay in there and periodically I stir it again to make it just as cold as before. Who asked no one but I was just chewing the fat...

Wow, that’s actually a really cool thesis/study area! Do you have any links to publishings you can share? Or generally any advice on particular preservatives to watch out for (esp. in the U.S)? I feel like we’re exposed to more food preservatives everyday, and it’s hard to buy family-safe foods since companies use lobbyists to work with the FDA to tout some chemicals as safe. There’s no proper independent research anymore it seems.

As an American woman I can confirm this and I wish that they were more wholesome like these kids even though I know that no one is perfect but at least and other countries they are more respectful towards teachers but then again another thing that's partly to blame is the parenting styles such as parents wanting to be their kids best friends or letting them do what they want and have whatever they want when they want it when they should be saying know sometimes. No country is perfect but it seems like in different countries the environment is different and I have a British guy that I'm seeing and he says he's in shock of how the American Kids treat teachers.

Oh my gosh, this is sooo much fun to watch! 😂 I’m 60 years old and these breakfast cereals have been around forever, I ate them myself. My biggest memory involving these sweet breakfast items is laying on a carpeted floor, belly down with my bowl of cereal in front of me on a Saturday morning and watching a show called Wonderama. I’m sure there are some folks in the comments here who are quite familiar.. and the ads that were featured were mostly toys.. and you guest it.. cereals! 😂 When the show was over I’d leave the house to meet up with my neighborhood friends where we’d ride bikes, play made up games or generally just mucked around all day. Sometimes we’d all go to a friends house or my own to grab a sandwich for lunch but most of the time we were too busy having fun to think about it. As long as we got our little tails back home by the time the street lamps came on at sunset then all was good. You didn’t EVER want your parents to have to come looking for you, we knew better! If it happened once it never happened again bc you got your ass chewed out all the way home plus you lost your privileges to go out and play the next day.. it was a heart breaker! LoL I don’t know about anyone else but I couldn’t leave the house wearing just anything, I had to put on my “play” clothes. Those were some fun independent times, not something we allow our kids to do nowadays.. and I suppose rightfully so. Do they still put toys in the bottom of those boxes of cereal? It was the reason we chose a particular box of cereal for the week, we wanted that cheap toy! LoL I hated Trix and Fruit Loops, it tasted like over powered artificial chemical fruit to me.. but I’d choose them once in awhile for the toy inside the box and it had to be eaten before my mom would buy a box of anything else. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Different times, good memories. 👍🏼😊🥰🌻

I believe they made the toys illegal as part of the "war on obesity" around 2012-ish. Just in time for my kids to miss out. I don't know how people are even getting their kids over weight. Mine are little wall climbing stick bugs, even though I'm cutting cheese and apples all day, going through a gallon of milk every two, can't keep yogurt in the house to save my life, biggest tub of peanut butter is attacked like they're at war with it, etc. Maybe I need to buy more cereal. 😂 I remember my grandmother making us wait until the toy "surfaced", and not dig our dirty fingers through the whole box looking for it. My sister and I ate so much trying to be the first to get it.

Knew from the rip the kids would like classic Cap’n Crunch. Slightly sweet, buttery and crunchy. Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch is the best imo of the Cap’n, but I can stand really sugary cereals anymore

@@jaegybombI think it’s more the chocolate. Many people here like peanut butter but your chocolate isn’t great compared to chocolate around Europe like (cadburys Milk chocolate, Belgium chocolate or Swiss chocolate). American sweets/chocolate tasted very artificial to what we are used too.

We definitely have buttered toast here 😂 There are many breakfast options. I personally don't eat cereal. I might have a bowl or two as a snack on occasion, but I don't even remember the last time. If you're looking for health benefits...cereal is not for you.

I’ve never understood why Brits prefer their toast cold. Hot toast warms the marmalade!

Two words: Cocoa Puffs. My mom would never let us eat "junk cereal" so, the day I got my first job, I went out and bought a case of Coca Puffs. Still one of the greatest days of my life, more than 30 years later. Close second: Chocolate Frosted Flakes. Pure junk cereal heaven!
