Bob Geldof gave a terrific speech. Michael was looking particularly handsome. He had great things to say about the UK. I wish he had moved here instead of remaining in the USA - they did not appreciate him and the press were very cruel towards him. MJ for ever.

What awesome words from Bob Geldof
@TheSommersonnenwende11 жыл бұрын
It was nice to see that Bob Geldof honored Michael with this amazing award because Michael did honor Geldof long before by including him in the "Man in the Mirror video" where Michael showed only very special people who had a major impact on the world in a positive way. Michael himself is not seen in this great video maby his best...). That only showed what kind of a person he was, namely one of the most beautiful human beings to ever walk this earth......
@z00ts00t778 жыл бұрын
They go back before that actually, Bob Geldof was also involved in singing We Are The World which Michael co-wrote with Lionel Richie. Geldof sang as part of the backing chorus and allegedly one of the reasons that Prince didn't perform on the record is that he had issue with the fact that Geldof had supposedly referred to him as a 'creep' beforehand.
@MrLuis856988 жыл бұрын
so many stories behind that We are The World recording still today is one of the major mysteries in contemporaneous pop history. I think that Prince , Barbra Streisand and Aretha Franklin were the most important and relevant artist at that time who missed the chance to be on that recording where the most influential artist around 1984-1986 concurred
@globalcitizenn6 жыл бұрын
Geldof dissed Michael after this award saying he gagged at the script and couldn't finish it coz it praised him too much. He mocked Michael. He also diminished Michael's contribution to We are the World. Geldof is a racist, white privileged, arrogant ignoramus who had the cheek of calling Michael Hubristic.
