She was doing it for her costars (being dumb) and they were so amused they told Ryan (show creator) and he started feeding her lines, eventually creating how we know Brittany now. I have a really weird theory about Mike and Brittany, I think they’re best friends outside of WMHS. My theory is they have been in the same dance classes together since they were young and when mike got older and wanted to continue dancing and his father wouldn’t let him Brittany’s parents helped mike and took him/payed for his dance lessons. I think the other thing to consider is just the reality of dance. When you are in the chorus of a show (which is basically what everyone in glee club is), you cannot pull focus by being a WAY better dancer than everyone around you. Which means that most of the time, Harry and Heather are having to hold back on what they can really do. But when the show places the two of them TOGETHER, suddenly, they don't have to worry about outshinning (by an order of magnitude) everyone else on the show, and they can actually dance somewhere near their actual level because they are on par with each other. And their JOY in those moments is palpable. Like puppies let off the leash. I am stoked by this video for that reason, because I watch for the moment when they get to dance together because suddenly they both turn it UP. The choreography gets more complex, their movements get crisper, and they are both ON. LOVE IT.

I'm not too familiar with acting and showbiz, but I've heard this thing called "character secret" where actors can pick a subliminal secret for their character to throw out once in a while during scenes. The director has no knowledge of it and it's not in the script anywhere. I think Britney and Mike were secretly dating as their character secret. Like the 2 actors decided to make it seem that way for their own amusement and to add depth to their own characters
