Just a heads up! I was having technically issues with my hatch as well and reached out to the company (we love the product). Apparently there are a few duds out there. They sent me a new one free of charge (even passed the manufacturing insurance policy due date). The new one doesn’t skip or have any issues. Reach out to the company, they have great customer service.

I really appreciate you making sure moms don’t feel judged for doing things differently. Question do you ever feel judgments or pressure from family or friends ? Because sometimes that’s the hardest even when well intentioned

I loved all of these. Especially the nap pod. I know I had expectations for our child and how we'd raise him - but sometimes you get a child that doesn't match your parenting plans. Ours has always had such a hard time sleeping, no matter what we did. We finally turned a corner around 2 ys old, but he's still only a good sleeper if we never miss one of the 10 specific details he needs. The grands all want sleep overs and we just can't yet. Everyone likes to tell us he's like this because we let him, but we don't. It's not a matter of we didn't try hard enough. We tried and tried and tried. And eventually we just realized that just like babies are born with their personality already in tact, they're born with their personal challenges already in tact too. So we stopped trying to make him a different sleeper than he is and just embraced his specific sleep needs. Our family has never been happier, or more well rested. And I've used almost all the suggestions you made, and I agree with them.:)

The "don't react" is the biggest one IMO. my husband and I have done this since he was little because we quickly realized he falls A LOT and he is very rarely hurt or scared. When we go to the playground, he is constantly tripping, bonking into things, etc and whenever my friends or family see him being so chaotic, they are like OMG IS HE OK OMG WATCH HIM OMG OMG OMG and im just like, he's fine, let him be. Parents know their babies best which means we know their capabilities and injuries too.

Pre-school teacher here! 👋 I think it’s very easy to judge parents on how they choose to raise their child, but I always try and remind people who are judging: kids are all different, just like adults are all different. Do you need a sleeping mask and soothing sounds when you go to sleep? Or do you need a window open? It’s the same for kids! If you find something that works for you as a parent and that makes your kid have quality time sleep, that’s amazing. A lot of people argue that it’s “better” to teach a child to be able to sleep anywhere in other words during daylight in the room and noise around them, but that just doesn’t work for everyone and let me tell you, ALOT of kids can’t sleep like that. If your kid can do that, consider yourself lucky! So let’s not judge each other when it comes to making sound choices for our children because we’re all different and we’re all just trying to give what’s best for them and to respect their needs. Thank you for reading my Ted talk 😂

pedialyte popsicles are a life-saver. I'm eating them myself right now because I'm so dehydrated (2 months pregnant). My diet has basically changed to coconut water, any watery food I can find (fruit, soup, etc), and pedialyte popsicles lol. I generally get dehydrated super easily, so pregnancy hasn't helped on that front at all.

Brilliant video! If you have more tricks would love to learn about them. The tooth brush as a car toy made me 😂 very relatable. They are some special car ride books in Germany called “baby pixi unkaputtbar“ they saved us in car rides. They are thin, light and safe for car rides. Also difficult to destroy. There must be similar stuff in the US too.

I worked in childcare for years so I was super familiar with the clean up song and how helpful it was. My child on the other hand 😂…was not a fan of it. Any other music is perfectly fine for us to clean up to, but something about that song has always ground her gears. And I’ve tried ALL the different versions out there. There a Trap for Kids version that I LOVE, but she still hates it 😅

A big hack for me I recently found out was to give my 9 month old son a piece of celery to chew on for his teething. He loved it so much. It took a lot to finally take it away from him when it was all dirty from him crawling around with it for a while. Cheaper than a teething toy and he gets the celery juices!

I really need to do the ‘car toys’ hack 😅 only time I think of it is when I’m already driving and my daughter is whinging in the back. I will say, from personal experience I would advise caution with the ‘letting this child know what’s happening the next day’. Some children think the next 30 mins is the next day and wonder when the heck grandma is coming 😆

Number 6, so true. Sometimes my son (now 8 months) falls over and you can SEE him lay still and wait 1, 2, 3 seconds to see if he gets a reaction from me! Haha! And if he does hurt himself for real, he will cry instantly so I know it is for real that time!
