I live in Australia, and my family would go on holiday to Tasmania each year. We were actually meant to visit Port Arthur the same day the massacre happened, but we ended up being delayed by a day or two. Every time I'm reminded of Martin Bryant and what he did, I thank the Lord for that delay. I know how lucky we are.

@@OGfromQueens Hey now don't forget Canada and the UK.... we also don't have civilian gun ownership for "personal protection - even though we all know that Americans have their guns primarily because they can "their 2nd ammendment rights and all" followed closely by they simply LIKE & Enjoy firing/shooting their guns. Then maybe 3rd they think about their personal protection. ... In Canada & UK you can own a gun for hunting with a current valid legal Hunting & gun licenses .. I personally can't see any of these 4 countries ever supporting changes in the laws to allow adults over the age of majority with a clean record to own handguns or any other firearms for personal protection. A shotgun or rifle to hunt for food with a valid current legal hunting license. I think that we are all proof that LESS potential access to handguns or other firearms then the less opportunities for "mass shootings" In defense of my neighbors to the south there's many other countries that have laws allowing the public to own guns for personal protection AND they don't have frequent mass shootings or any other negative issues with gun ownership. I think that Americans should research what those other countries are doing differently from them that prevents mass shootings from becoming a common thing as well as other gun crimes & criminal actions from occurring frequently. America could take the positive actions laws preventative measures that those countries employ and find something that will work for Americans & in America. I think if it's reasonable & logical enough then the majority of gun owners & gun enthusiasts would be willing to make some small concessions that would ensure drastically reduced mass shooting incidents if not eliminating them altogether. There would have to be a significant majority in favour of some small changes for the overall betterment of All Americans vs those who aren't remotely interested in changing anything to do with the current gun laws. I think that they're too afraid of losing some of their precious guns...

@@triciabarr4620 I’m from the US and it’s because people in the US think differently than people in other countries. Some feel like they’re always the victim, some feel like the world owes them, and pure selfishness and lack of empathy for other people are what I feel like contributes to most of our mass shootings. Also, lack of censorship, people in the US can look up the most messed up shit on the Internet from a young age.

This was my thought as well. I very often feel like him. The social awkwardness is painful, it's a gut wrenching world shaking kind of pain. I feel like he was just born lacking something in his brain and teasing is literally the only way he knows or can imagine how to interact with another human being. This one hurt to listen to tbh.

My 17 year old son autistic (highly functioning) and very socially awkward… he has a few close friends and I’m very thankful that he is happy most of the time. He has never shown any kind of anger/violence but people often assume he is rude or sad. I pray that he never feels like this guy, it makes me really sad to think about the future when we (his parents/family) are gone. I feel like it’s easier now that the internet can connect people that may not fit in to society’s norm. Although I’m equally sad for the people who’s lives he took. It’s an all around awful story 😟

Please don’t let Blu sunbathe! I have a blue pit just like Blu, and I used to think it was soooo adorable when she would be out sunbathing…..until one day I noticed her licking her stomach excessively…after checking what she was licking I noticed a large red spot that was surrounded by other smaller red spots. So I took her to the vet immediately and they did a biopsy and determined it was skin cancer she got from sunbathing!!!! She needed surgery and thank God my baby has recovered 💯, but the vet said that these types of dogs have a genetic disposition to get skin cancer because they are very light skinned on their tummy. So if he does keep sunbathing please keep an eye out for anything that may develop.

You know that an "air gun" doesn't just "shoot air" at things, right? The 'air' part comes from air being the propellant. Those guns shoot pellets and projectiles! They just use air instead of gun powder to propel the projectiles. So that gun wasn't just annoying people and animals with puffs of air. Those pellets HURT and do damage...and are legit weapons!

Imagine if he'd had help and education and been given the opportunity to find something to do with his life. And he's so suicidal, so very suicidal that he has to be on meds to be kept from doing so. So many systems failed him and his mother is highest at that list, imo.

I live in Australia and I visited Port Arthur when I was a kid, such a strange energy at the place, it’s a beautiful place and has such interesting history, it’s a shame that it’s so overshadowed by the massacre there. The gun laws that came after it were amazing though, the government just said absolutely not, this isn’t happening again, it was really well done by them.

I remember when this happened... I'm from a town in the state of Victoria, which is right above the island state of Tasmania where it all happened.... I had just gotten back from a 2 week field trip to Tasmania only several weeks before this all happened, and the location he went on this shooting rampage is one of the places we had visited and toured. We literally walked around the same grounds where people were unfortunately shot down and killed... was a pretty traumatizing event for the country.... brings back some horribly sad memories ... Not defending Martin, but just wanted to say that he didn't receive the help he needed for his mental disabilities when he was a child, and I feel that possibly, it might have been prevented if actions were taken by family and medical practitioners - especially of the psychological form. Some measures had been taken, but I feellike more could have been done to help him, or monitor him... I feel like at a certain age they pretty much just left him to his own accord when there should have been more done to supervise him

Yeah, Palmettos are a thing in Houston. My grandmother had them at her house, and she was probably the cleanest person I've ever met. You could literally eat off of her floors, not even kidding. When she had them show up at her place, the pest guy told her it was for two things: Firstly being that some of her neighbors had just had their houses and yards treated with pest control, so the bugs skedaddled for survival. Second being that she had a readily available water source by way of her jacuzzi, AND she had really nice grounds in the back yard with lots of nice healthy trees, shrubs, flowers, it was like a little paradise in her yard. I've also heard of other people I know in Houston bringing one home without knowing it in a potted plant or shrub they picked up at the garden department at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.
@LalaLanky
@LalaLanky 3 жыл бұрын
So basically if you're in a city, the pests are just constantly on the run from one place to another, lol. Roach rotation. I lived in Florida and there are palmetto bugs there, too. Freaky thangs they are!
@Trainwreck_Art
@Trainwreck_Art 3 жыл бұрын
@@LalaLanky Yep, pretty much. When we lived in apartments, it was common practice before the pest guy would spray and bomb the apartments to tape up the vents and outlets so the roaches couldn't just evacuate from one apartment to another and we had a better chance of getting most of them. Seemed to work.

As someone who has an older sibling on the autism spectrum and as someone who works with children on the spectrum, this hit close to home. I mean, before you even mentioned that he was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome I started to wonder if he was on the spectrum somehow and sure enough... Man, but this hit me harder than most of the videos you did because it reminded me of all the times seeing my brother struggle to make meaningful connections and how lonely he was pretty much all the time was heart-breaking to watch. He is doing better now, much better than before now that he has made a couple friends and is living in a place that has good people who monitor, help, and treat people who are neuro-diverse. But before that, he exhibited some similar methods of coping, like the heavy drinking because it helped him feel relaxed and calm but it was no way for him to live. Thankfully he is a gentle and kind soul who would never intentionally hurt anyone and I thank God every day that he is the kind of person he is and that he has come such a long way since then. Love you the way you cover the material in your videos and your gorgeous make up!
