I don't usually comment, but: Regarding how folks feel about the pre-grwm talk: it's a video. Fast forward and let the rest of us enjoy the intro. Regarding the murder: I feel like it could've all been avoided if she had called the police when she found those photos. He had CP on his computer, and the candid shots would've proved that even the adult photos were invasive and non- consensual. But then, she involved waaaay too many people in her plot. (This is a perfect example of why you shouldn't spam text folks.) When she realized no one would help her, she could've called 911 and claimed to not know what happened. "I picked him up, went into a store for blah blah, and when I came back out, he was acting strange, and later I realized my Rx was low...🤷🏽‍♀️" Her guilty conscious is what caused her to get caught, but I feel like her lies are what made the prosecution's case. She had too many excuses for her lies, which made her look unremorseful. I feel like she could win an appeal in a few years since this was a crime of passion, but since she is such a bad criminal, she will probably do about ten years before she's released. This is a sad story of many different types of betrayal. Make good choices, folks.

I remember this case. I couldn’t get over how she saw him as a father and the whole time he was being a disgusting perv. I don’t blame Jade at all for wanting to dish out her own brand of justice to the person who violated her in such a way - especially when she was also looking after him. However, for her own benefit, I do think she should’ve called the police whilst he was still in the hospital. Him being exposed and her cutting all ties with him would’ve punished the disgusting step-“father” more. Death was an easy out for him.

@@GenXfrom75 yes there was proof.. The articles would all say she “allegedly” found things on his computer, not that she DID find things. The police haven’t released much about the photos other than the fact that there were hundreds of them and everything she said she found was true. Makes it even more shocking that the jury sided against her considering they probably had to view her CP as evidence. Her texts must’ve been VERY incriminating

“She wouldn’t have done that if he wouldn’t have done this.” Yup. Exactly. This story is so tragic because she didn’t have anyone in her life to confide in or to guide her in her time of need. No one to tell her to go to the police and not compromise her life over HIS misdeed. She just had a bunch of fake friends who ditched her and betrayed her. She lost her life over his perversion. 😣

I feel so bad for her, it's hard for me to judge her because I fortunately never been in her shoes, but I see in her eyes during trial that this really messed with her mentally and she allowed her anger to take over, plus I think she was all in to do it because if she did it the right way would he had faced justice? and sadly he may not have if we're being honest. I hope she's able to find peace.

@@youab9050this, exactly. A slap on the wrist, if that. It's sad. He had hidden cameras, for heaven's sake. Some of those pictures dated back to when she was 14 or 16. He violated her in so many ways...a man she looked at as a father.
@youab9050
@youab9050 Жыл бұрын
@@angelasandersbooks my step dad raised me as his own since I was 1.5 years old. I can’t even begin to fathom what she felt. There are so many levels of betrayal and disgust in this situation. That poor girl must’ve had some sort of breakdown that allowed for her to muster the courage or strength or the sufficient gull to take this garbage out for the rest of us. I know my mind would not be intact if I found out something as disgusting and disturbing as what she found out. It’s so unfair to the child. The adult is aware and can comprehend from the gate, that this is not their child. As the child whose only father has been the step father, there is no reconciling how he could do something so maniacal.
@angelasandersbooks
@angelasandersbooks Жыл бұрын
@@youab9050 , I think of that, too. As someone who was abused (not by my father or step-father), thank God, I empathize with her on so many levels. The pain and mental anguish, trauma, all of it--it can be overwhelming, and to find out the day you have to pick the man up? I'm not surprised it triggered a wild chain of events. It's something that never goes away... you just learn to cope and live on the best way you know how. In my case, therapy, and a lot of it. I hope she is able to receive some sort of mental health treatment in prison. The man was a pedo... I pray she's allowed parole sooner rather than later. I'm not one to condone murder, but... I can only say how I would have reacted in that situation. I'd have called my mom (who she doesn't have) and then called the police... but she isn't me. And that's after I confronted his perverted a$$ with my mom, sister, cousin, anybody at my side. Again, she didn't have the family I did. So, our circumstances are/were vastly different. I wish I could have been a friend to help her before things progressed. That's what she needed.

Another excellent delivery of a crazy story! I think once Jade found those photos and went home to process what she found, she should have had somebody with her immediately - it sounds like she sat and stewed about it (completely understandably) and her thoughts just spiraled out of control. Just makes me wonder if things could have been different had a friend been there to talk her off the ledge, if that makes sense.

Her only mistake was not pleading justifiable homicide. Temporary insanity is out the window once you start actually planning something. Where harming kids are concerned, my feelings are finite and unwavering. What happened wasn't revenge - it was justice. The law and justice are two very, VERY different things.

Ive never talked about this before but i know exactly how she feels. I became a binge drinker to avoid my feelings. I also went back to take care of him when he passed . It really messed me up because i loved him so much. I finally learned healthier ways to feel my emotions and let them come and go. With that said i understand why she did what she did but i dont condone it , as it only made everything worse for her. Even if she didn't get caught she would of had to live with not only betrayal of the worst kind but the weight of how dark that betrayal made her. Its a sad story.

I LOVE you talking at the front of the video, we here for you as much as the story! She should not have received the sentence she should have, like she found out she had been the victim of a whole crime done against her, for years, since she was a child, I feel like if he had been physical instead of creepy for that long, nobody would have jailed her for doing what she did. And its just as bad I think, finding out this has been going on for years, since you were a child, I'm really surprised she got what she got. That's going to keep coming back to you from inside, when someoen does something like this in private hidden from you, that'll do stuff to you, obviously look what it did to her. imagine the trust problems she'd have with a husband or partner. Maybe she deserves some punishment, but definitely not as much as she got.

Step dad was definitely wrong, and I do think his crime should have been considered as far as motive and sentencing, but not in consideration of guilt. I understand that she was bewildered, disgusted, and hurt, BUT she did make the wrong move. I'd have alerted the authorities or called a family meeting to help her confront him. I know that's easy for an outsider to say, but killing him wasn't the move, especially when she had so many hurdles to complete it. That was her sign to abort mission. 25 to life is tough

Someone has given you the trust to raise their child with them, a child has taken you in and loved and trusted you in the deepest way.. betraying that in such a disgusting way is so painful to me. Dinner every night, walking the dogs, living next door, staying after her mother divorced him .. idk, apart of me feels like her finding the pictures pushed her over the edge, considering it was from when she was a minor. Regardless if there was ever a physical relationship, the connection they had was weird & this is coming FROM A DADDY’S GIRL.

I watched this video when you first released it and every time I come back to it, I can’t believe that even a FEW of the comments are shocked and appalled that she didn’t go to the cops and truly believe that he would’ve been punished appropriately. 20/30 years, he wouldn’t have even gotten that. The only punishment for victimizing children is exactly what happened to him.

I have heard this story before, do I understand why she did it yes. However, the insanity plea doesn't work as she had planned it with premeditation; my heart goes out to her. She could have done this completely different but the shock and trying to deal, can't imagine it. Thanks for sharing Brittney

How do people's hearts go out to such cruel people. She literally killed him and talked about him like he was nothing. F*k her.

Possibly controversial opinion: him being a creep doesn’t give her permission to commit premeditated murder. She had been talking about it and planning it for days. Allowing people to take justice into their own hands is a slippery slope.

Agreed! When she went home to “process”, I started singing, “🎶 premeditation, premeditation!🎵”, to the tune of Y’all Ready For This? However, I do hope she finds a lawyer who can help her appeal for a shorter sentence, perhaps.

@@carlydechene5505a shorter sentence? Why...

It shouldn't be a controversial opinion. She should not be out walking among normal people. She showed no remorse or guilt just remorse for getting caught. There's no proof he did anything perverted.

@ I don’t think they should’ve argued the defense that it was an “accident” in the first place. It was a terrible defense. They would’ve been much more likely to find reasonable doubt with a justifiable homicide defense. This man was her legal guardian, and a trusted figure of authority for her since she was a child, and if they had the hard drive of explicit photos in evidence, it could’ve been used to at least make an argument for her to get some mental health treatment during her sentence. She is also a victim. Yes, she committed a serious crime. Yes, there were plenty of times while all these events were occurring where she could have called for appropriate intervention. The catalyst was what affected her state of mind. Was she a cold blooded killer, who was simply waiting for any excuse to murder someone? Or was she driven to that point by whatever her stepfather had done to her without consent? Another variable is the fact that despite whatever age she was in the photos she saw, she was an adult, (in her 30’s, I believe was stated?) when the murder was committed. Which could mean numerous things. The pictures could’ve unlocked some traumatic memories that she had buried. Alternately, she could have been lying about the existence of the pictures entirely. Either way, it sounds like her counsel wasn’t particularly effective, if she had sent such a slew of texts, and their master plan was to go in front of a jury saying it was an accident. Maybe shorter sentence was the wrong assertion, but I do hope she at least gets some mental health treatment, and I do think it’s unfortunate that she doesn’t have the possibility of parole.

I think if she had been able to compose herself and thought it through, not ever speaking to him or caring for him probably would have hastened his death and hurt him deeply, and would have been just revenge

I really wish people would stop trying to make this chick out to be a victim. She is a murderer. There is zero proof that her stepfather did any of this. She conveniently destroyed the hard drive with the hundreds of photos. She constantly lied and was doing the most to paint herself as the victim throughout the trial. She had days to come to a decision on how she wanted to handle this, and she chose murder. She is exactly where she belongs.
