You killed me on accent number 6 you said Seattle or Oregon and then when he said Maine, you said I’m not gonna give myself half a point, but I was getting closer had me rolling 😂😂

Actually I got her and understood what she meant by that. She said she was getting closer thinking about her relatives she mentioned were from Long Island who were speaking like that pronouncing an intrusive "r" which really annoyed her.😌😉 Anyways, I get you saying it's hilarious how she went from the west coast to the east coast (from Washington to Long Island) and said she was getting closer.😅

13:11 - I travel all over, and I can do the Yooper. People from far northeast Minnesota tend to sound like this as well. I worked with a Yooper and got to the point where I sounded just like him. He was a bit of a butt, so I had great fun on the 2-way radios we he was not around. Eh, wah da-ya say? 🤣

I recently had a job working in Hazard Kentucky. And I could understand the 95% of people just fine. But there were some I could not understand at all. Then I was moved an hour away, to Prestonberg. And to the eye, it looked exactly the same. Same mountains and everything. But I had no trouble understanding anybody. And I really didn’t move that far.

If you had said Wisconsin for Yooper, that’s worth a half point. They are at least connected. Minnesota does not count. No.

My lineage is Scottish from the huntson clan. Hunterson Castle is the only functioning Castle in Scotland. My best friend is a Guthrie come to find out his family was the next castle over. Guthrie name came from "Gut three fish" for the king everyday. Got to visit Hunterson Castle a few years ago. But had to do a DNA first. Found out im decent of Ragnar and rollo the walker. There descendants went on to be pirates.Move forward 1000 yrs here I am..lol without the eye patch..lol I I visited a little town in northern UK the people there freaked me out because they sound just like the people from Mississippi I understood every word they said. They did not sound British. The British people made fun of them. Bless their hearts they're special. LoL

I got 4 correct. Fun game. Our variety of Accents proves, that America is the Worlds Melting Pot.
@t.a.k.palfrey38822 сағат бұрын
That expression, "melting pot" is so misleading that it's become misused. In a melting pot everything is melted together into one homogenous whole. I don't see the US as homogenous at all. Rather, I prefer the descriptor used often in Canada. There a former prime minister described his country as, "a community of communities". I think that better explains the US too.

That was a really fun and educational video. Do they do one on British accents? I'd love to see you react to that. I did terrible on this one, although I did get Miami. I said Alabama for the Southern Accent, and I said New England for the Maine one, so I'm having both of those too!
