He is 19 so pretty much fresh out of puberty. Given his height is body has been putting all its energy into growing and been neglecting muscles. Typically after someone stops growing they fill out their frame and put on more muscle. That guy wont look like this for very long (if he eats, that is)

Everyone loves that 'gotcha' moment. That little bit of info to prove the other person wrong So, people often at the first instance to tell the other person that Why? Lots of reasons, some could be genuine, or a insecurity, wanting to help, wanting to troll, being alone and trying to interact, no matter how that goes People will always think they know better, because they think they are smart, or know more. My guess is that, because of their lack of knowledge prevents a deeper questioning, i.e, does this person already know this?

I'm not nearly as tall as him, yet I'm still tall enough to understand how hard it is to build muscle as a tall guy. Unless he eats an ungodly amount of food and trains specifically like a bodybuilder he most likely won't gain an enormous amount of muscle before a long time.

Accumulating mass at his height is a gamble. If he doesn't do it the right way or does it too much he will increase the risk of injury in basketball. So many examples of this. He's better off looking too skinny and having steady functional cardio and strength progress. As well his playstyle and basketball in general value cardio more than raw strength.
@robcubed9557

You know how hard it is for people that tall to look buff is. He would have to be eating around 5000 calories a day, plus he's an athlete so he doesn't need to look good, he needs to function. On top of that being buff and maintaining the mobility, agility and speed he needs to be a basketball player would litterally consume his life. You're talking an 1 hour daily stretch routine, atleast 7 hours a week on the court, 4 hours a day eating, 7 hours a week a cardio, 4-5 hours a week weightlifting( isolations) or 3-4 hours (supersets), 6-9 hours a day sleeping(recovery). The list goes on for ever. After 7 or 8 years of basketball he will get a more muscular frame without going the extra mile.

people defending him being skinny because he's so tall, essentially implying it's optimal for his sport clearly were too young or don't remember Shaq who was 7'1 and had the most dominant prime in the history of the game. he had no shortage of sheer strength. it's not about the look, it's about the power. I will be absolutely shocked if this kid's legacy becomes even half of Shaqs. I do like his flexibility regime, but shame on his trainer for not putting together proper strength routines for him. say what you want but 205 lbs at 7'4 is asking to get banged up and injured!
