This is the diet of a marathoner. I eat as much as I can whenever I can. I do not track calories, the only thing I really pay attention to is making sure I get enough protein in for the day. If you don't eat enough you won't reach your potential as a runner. You will be susceptible to injury and burnout. Figuring out when to eat and how much before runs can be a difficult thing and often times is trial and error.

You are my son's bizarro character... you look, talk and behave just like him. He is a walking stick just like you. I was a college level high jumper (also did well in other field events, disc, javelin, pole, and hurdles 100 and 400) but I had to watch my weight. Walked on as a goalie in a D1 soccer program, I just love distance running now. I am also an MD, cardiologist, by training although I am more into healthy hearts and performance now. Your diet is totally fine, there are a couple tweaks you can make that might help you improve performance and gain some more muscle mass. Off the top of my head, I would add in more protein (I use MyProtein, cheap and clean) and Creatine. If you don't know the data on creatine... read it, or Tube it. You should also add in beets (I accomplish this with a smoothie), dump strawberries, add blueberries. Most importantly, do not read any negative or hater posts. Don't let it touch you. You are awesome.

@@andrewcra Why would one need a high-carbohydrate diet to run 100 miles a week? Carbohydrates are not required for volume; they’re required for intensity. If 20 of those 100 miles are in the form of repeat quarters, then Yes, you’re going to need a lot of carbs. But if it’s 100 miles of “marathon training”, then I don’t know why there would be any special need for carbs to be a high percentage of calories.

If your goal is to have a very low BMI, so be it. But if you want to be the fastest distance runner that you can be, there is a lower limit to how low that BMI should be, and if you try to go below it your performance will suffer. And for most people, if your BMI falls below about 19.2-19.3, you’re not going to have the energy resources necessary to train and run optimally. Hormone levels get out of whack, recovery suffers, and performance crashes.

It’s impressive that you maintain such a low BMI… but it probably isn’t optimal for your running. If you were to gain just 5 lbs of muscle and fat, you would go from a BMI of 18.5 to 19.4, and your running would likely improve. Very few athletes operate optimally at BMIs below 19.0. I did have one important question though, which I would love to know your opinion on, which is what does your future experience of running look like? like after your done competing etc what more do you plan on doing? because even myself I want to be an inspiration for others through running itself too through telling my own story, and experience of how I have overcome great adversity and trials of life through running, and I plan on taking this goal myself even further for many more years to come. Much love my bro stay blessed! You are well on the right path to success in life with your mindset! You're burning muscle and since your protein intake is so low and it's not animal protein You're causing muscle damage due to choline deficiency. It's not normal to be beat up just from running despite weighing 90 pounds. But more than anything. All the carbs and volume are depleting your thiamine massively and preventing any and all potential muscle gain as well as spiking cortisol even more. Exacerbating it all. More protein. No carbs. Lots of vegetables. Strength train and lay off all that cardio because ultimately weak Is weak. And you can become stronger without losing the ability to run??? @@abaddonmorningstar8871 ok I’m just now realizing that you might be developmentally challenged. Distance runners want to be able to run long distances at a fast pace. The best way to improve stamina while running is going for consistent, long runs (with occasional rest days). If he doesn’t run enough, his cardiovascular fitness will gradually decrease until he begins regressing in his times during races. If his goal is to improve his times for long distance races, then he needs to be doing an adequate amount of mileage, thus he cannot “do less” or “lay off the cardio”.

Hey, man I recently started taking running way more seriously and quit body building... I went from 170 to 148lbs in the past 7 months and everyone from my parents to friends to coworkers will not stop commenting on how "skinny" I've became. Don't pay them any mind my guy, honestly the TRUTH IS that 99% of people know nothing about competitive running at all and everything surrounding it including physique and efficiency. I get it, but I would take the satisfaction I get from PR's and a good race over my vain bodybuilding physique any day!!! You're a beast btw.

As a new viewer of your channel, I wanted to share my first impression of this video. The video should be a "what I eat in a day". However, it is tough to see what you actually ate, because the food is not being filmed that much, except for a brief moment. At 6:40, it briefly shows some food. Take a blink and you will miss it. That's why it is the most replayed part in the video, I believe. At 10:02, it shows some cinnamon rolls or whatever those are. I have no clue, so maybe some 'introduction' to a product like that could be nice, as I am not sure everyone is familiar with stuff like that. I've personally never heard of some 'cinnamon rolls', which I barely could read from the video's still images. The protein drink at 6:16 is upside down, so again, viewers are curious to see what are you waving there, but it is tough to read the name or the flavour. So, the video itself is pretty interesting and entertaining, but some critical parts were slightly unclear for a viewer like me, who just wanted to see what a 'skeleton' eats in a day as that was the reason to click and watch the video.

why are you just eating "a little bit of protein" when you exercise so much and that thin? That much exercise plus the bodies own breakdown needs a lot of protein to rebuild and repair. You are not eating nowhere near enough to rebuild and repair all the damage caused by exercise. Banana, fruit, yoghurt does zilch to repair muscles, ligaments joints. You need 3 protein rich meals a day.

@@MrSeedi76 It's simple physics, biology, and natural selection. You'll NEVER see a 240-pounder run a 2:05 marathon.....or even a 3:05....no matter how hard they train. The heart and lungs of a 150-pound 6-foot male are the same size as a 240-pound 6-foot male. So are all the other internal organs. Heat dissipation is the number-one limiting factor in running a marathon and thinner bodies shed heat far easier. Excess heat raises heart rate and lowers VO2 max. There's also a reality in that an athlete needs MUCH more calories than an average person, especially somebody like you, who has such high exertion on a daily basis. Being naturally "skinny" isn't an excuse for constantly being in a calorie deficit. Your problem isn't in the amount of times you eat, it's the amount of calories you're eating. You're eating the same amount of calories as a sedentary person should, which isn't enough for an athlete. Problem is, long distance runners need to keep their weight low for competition. Let's not pretend that it's a healthy approach. Similar to fighters and wrestlers, who weight cut for fights. It's not healthy, but it's part of the game.
