One way to practice with lighted nock weight is to glue in some small small screws into the nonlighted nocks. Then weigh them and grind them down to weight. Works great. That way you don’t ‘waste’ the battery of your lighted nocks when just practicing.

Check out Woodys archery supply’s nocks. They are good! Cheaper than nockturnals. I feel they are brighter than nockturnal. They are called Starburst nocks. They have a wide spectrum of colors, from red to pink, blue and green, white, and flashing. 38.50 for 6 nocks, and you can even order practice nocks so your not killing your hunting nocks. They are roughly 25 grains and you don’t need a nock tool to cut them off.

Just received 12 DeePower 100 grain 3 blade fixed. They are razor sharp and everyone weighs exactly 98 grains. Lusaka adventures did his tests and I was impressed also. They are truly a quality head. And to only cost $21 a dozen. I haven't got to shoot them yet but if anything they will surely kill a hog at twenty yards. I'm very sure they will be plenty well made for whitetail. 1 1/8" cut.

Thorn Broadheads are legit! They have the best containment system and always open, I've never had to track more than 30 yards. Plus they offer a reblade service for when they get dull so you can keep using them over and over.

One problem I’ve had is the weight difference going from lighted nocks to regular. I’ve tried pin nocks, didn’t like them because they are always muck thinner than the nocturnals and will cause some nock pinch when switching back to the lighted nock. Victory sells an aluminum nock that weighs 16 grains I believe for .204. I’ve found it’s a much more inexpensive way to practice with my hunting setup.

Using the slick trick ss3 three blade. Love the one piece construction. I think a cnc milled head will always be as close to indestructible as you can get. Running victory extortions with 50grain insert. Total weight 570grain. Im pulling 75pnd at 31inch draw. V3 31. Happy with it.

I won't discredit ironwill bill or his products. Any of them. Ever. No leg in the race there. Only reason I haven't messed with them, is the price, and I don't think I'll ever pull the trigger, because if I did. I may loose my spot in bed and be on the couch. The Snyder system permanently combined with a left bevel that was just released shoved into black eagle x impact just makes me tingle. Mind you. Personally that would be the only set up I would permanently affix like that. That being said. I still haven't found a better fixed blade for the price point that the tooth of the arrow provides. Im not sponsored by anyone, youtubes my only social media.. but I'd go as far as mailing you some or giving you my discount code to Drop the vented blades with their line. Shoot solid 1 inch or 1 3/16. Solid 1 piece milled from the the same steel tip to tip. Everyone hates on lumenok, but. As far as I know. And I'll be corrected I'm sure. But. Aren't they the only lighted nock company that uses actual nocks then illuminates them? Absolutely love the content, tinkering and research you, your friends/crew, and mfjj provide, as always, abt!

Generally speaking, if you have an arrow that has developed a wobble and you have ruled out the field tip or broadheads, it’s going to be in the insert, you can put the arrow on a hard surface with one hand just barely above the insert with the other hand holding the arrow up at a 45degree angle and add pressure, minimal and bend that insert back into a good spot. This may require several attempts and you’ll have to pay attention to the arrow and spin/rotate the arrow as necessary. I’ve done this with dozens of arrows but not I run titanium inserts and that rarely is needed!

Which of these fixed blade broadheads have you found to create the least amount of noise and to be the most accurate for you?

You should check out swhacker's for deer sized critters. You won't find a more accurate head out there. I use the 100gr 2" cut and have killed close to 20 deer and all have been pass throughs with great blood trails. Iron wills are definately great fixed heads but expensive. Dan shoots a left helical, is that because his string is twisted Right? You guys should (tinker) run a test with twisting the strings left or right and see how it affects the arrow coming off the bow.
@saulgood6190

Yes thats the theory anyway. Or rather that the clockwise twisted strings have counter clockwise serving. There are some builders that twist their strings counter clockwise on purpose, and those seem to all naturally twist right off the bow.

I want to try a new arrow setup for my Semi new PRIME Black 3 bow that I got late last summer and didn’t use it last fall. But 2022 is the year for it. I am thinking of doing 200 upfront instead of 150. Bumping my broadhead weight up to at least 125 grain. I am a left eye dominate shooter and since I am actually wanting to build my arrows instead of just running what I can buy off the shelf at Cabela’s, I believe that I need to go left helical. I have a straight jig, so I better pick up the left helical one. Pretty awesome giveaway, especially with the Iron Wills. Now that I know that they have left bevels I was thinking 🤔 hard about them among others. Thanks for sharing and good luck in Texas. Your Kifaru buddy Aron Snyder has been guiding down in Texas and they have been stacking the Aoudad even with a traditional bow 🏹🐐

I know you shoot higher poundage setups.. I'm shooting a 80lb bow and have found if you are shooting the Nocturnals make sure it is the multifit style like you have. The ones that are the hourglass shape (softer plastic) WILL NOT hold up at higher poundages.. after like 2-3 shots you can see bend in the nock and they will explode soon after. Hope you have a great Tx hunt!

I’ve seen the damage IW can do, personally I don’t think you can do much better than that Micro Hades for fixed and Sevr is my only mechanical option. John Lusk has taken multiple animals in Africa, and it’s the only mech to withstand his testing and looked brand new in the end.

Does that gold tip outsert act as an impact collar or just a heavy outsert to help when pulling arrows from targets?

Just got my IW SB Left 125 Solids. I’m interested in a “wide solid sb left” from bill if he does it!

Hey Dan, why do you use the primer pen on the shaft and not the fletching? Honestly I have never thought of doing it that way. I put it on the fletching and they never come off

Most of your primer pens are acetone/denatured spirits, and with alot of the new adhesives and vanes, you only need to clean one or the other. I still clean both, I'm mildly ocd. But you can use them for shaft/vane cleaning. With the amount of vanes I've sliced off I could see people saving time for video sake just to clean one and get it on there. Not saying that's what happened here. More could of been done between clips, but it's not as uncommon as one would believe.

Dan, have you ever shot the qad exodus 125’s? If you get a chance I’d love to hear how you’d compare them to your GR Hades. Would love to win those tooth if the arrow 125’s! Maybe I’ll buy some side plates for my vxr. Keep up the good work
